Even in the hockey players world you dont celly like that. Game 7 or a series clincher in overtime perhaps but not a goalie pulled tying goal. Crowd was nuts and I watched the game. I even remember the announcers saying more on the celly than the goal. Not bashing the guy just know guys in the hockey culture and they frowned upon it.

Like how the shoutout had been introduced only months ago, how players back then were really not being anywhere near as creative, players almost never practiced their shoutout moves back then, and how Malik's goal ended what would be the longest shoutout of all time for about a decade. And as they say, the guy had not score that year. They were so far in the shoutout that there wasn't a lot of guys to choose from, and the coach picked dozens of players to go before him (some who, for the record, did score, but only to keep it going)

He was guiding the puck into an open net and the terrible ice in edmonton flipped the puck on him, his stick was in the blue paint trying to be extra careful ffs.
