I've noticed that in some country like france, that the signs on the minimap are red, sometimes the plugin Steer thinking that the sign is the edge of the road
Why does the truck often turn right and left at the speed limit? And when on sharp turns the truck always ends up on the edge of the road. Is there any tuning for the keyboard
Why does the truck often turn right and left at the speed limit? This can be tuned with the settings, usually it means that your sensitivity is too high or your smoothness is too high. It is also resolution dependent. You can never fully remove the sway. And when on sharp turns the truck always ends up on the edge of the road. Glas42 is currently rewriting the Nav Detection again. This new version could fix this, it's a little hard to fix fully though. Is there any tuning for the keyboard? Yes go into plugins -> default steering -> keyboard, and then move the slider to change the sensitivity.
Very nice video, does it drive for it self? Or do you have to use the trothle and the break? Also I saw an option wich was cruise control, how does it work? Sounds nice if it auto ajusts the cruise control for the road you're in.
Really cool tool. Its really impressive what can be done. Just wondering. Would this also work with the Navigation Unit within the Truck itself if its fitted? Or does it require the F3 map for it to work?
@@Tumppi066 Ah ok got it. Btw, I also wanted to ask. You have an installer for the program on you github. Does that also download all the dependencys for the program to work or does it only download the program itself? (And if it downloads everything do you by any chance know how big everything toghether is cause my C drive is a bit full and I don't know where Python and Git install to standard.)
@@jasmienkomugi9026 Yes the installer will download everything. The app is about 1-2gb and python and git are around 200mb each. Of course you can change the app directory, but I would recommend keeping it the default. Have not tested what happens if it's on the D drive for example 👍 edit: the installer from the download button or the ETS2LA/Installer repo. The installer branch is deprecated. edit edit: the installer will make a virtual python env, so all the python side stuff is still in the app folder (hence the 2gb size). The global python install is on the C drive though.
Question before I download: Would I be able to use this in Freecam mode for cinematic shots? Or is this strictly bound to the cabin view, hence the minimap?
Sorry for the late reply, I don't check YT comments often. For version 1.X.X this is indeed the case. We are currently working on V2.0, whose base will work with Linux. Obviously I cannot guarantee plugin compatibility since that is up to each of the plugin developers to implement. My plugins will be made compatible with Linux though 👍
@@Ryan-McLaughlin No ETA yet. This is an extremely large update. We are basically rebuilding the app from the ground up for better performance (and UX). The discord has some previews but I assume it will be this year at the very least. I'd say summer is the earliest time it would come out 👍 edit: Actually the beta might be earlier... we will see.
The new SDK should work with mouse steering. Right now though it requires you to install visual studio with the C++ dev framework, there is some requirement that I missed and that's not being shipped with the app. One of my devs is working on a fix but I have no idea how long it'll take since I'm not home currently.
You don't need one 👍 The app will create it's own virtual controller that you can use in game. As long as you unbind the A and D keys ingame it will work. More information here if the video is not enough : wiki.tumppi066.fi/en/LaneAssist/InGame
Hey, Im tryin to set this up but your program didnt make any virtual joystick, I tried even disabling steam controller input, reseting to defauts, to keyboard only. I want to play it on mouse and keyboard. Could you help me with this?
We don't create a virtual controller anymore. The app will connect to the game with the SDK that's setup during the first time setup. Problem is you can't change the gamepad mode to wheel when only using a wheel, so I honestly don't know if the SDK will work. If the SDK doesn't work then you can still enable the VGamepad Controller plugin, and that will create the virtual controller.
Yes it will, but you should be careful. There have been no cases (AFAIK) where these apps have caused a player to be banned. However you have to always be careful, at the very least you can be banned for reckless driving, so make sure you pay attention :)
Yup that is indeed the correct way to do it. There is a program called "Borderless-Gaming" that will let you put the ETS2 window into borderless mode. github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/releases
This is an external app, so AFAIK it hasn't been a problem for anyone yet. But I have implemented a teuckersmp lock, and if you disable it then you're on your own 👍
Yes ATS is fine 👍 Shouldn't require that powerful of a machine, though I cannot say I've tested it on lower end hardware. My guess is any PC from the last 6 years or any laptop from the last 4 years should work fine.
@@Tumppi066 However, the app accuracy in detecting corners, roundabout, and other situations was lower than expected. So, I think you can use openpilot project instead of this one to gain more accuracy.
@@microsoftflightsimulator476 Yup those are totally normal to not be perfect, just a limitation of the map. As for openpilot that was the first idea I ever had, but it's just too hard for the average person to setup. I implemented an openpilot like detection method with UFLD and LSTR though.
I can help you on the discord in like an hour or two (I mean technically I can help here too, but youtube comments are slow). Just got a breakthrough for getting the controls direct to ETS2 so I wanna stay in the "zone" xD
Sorry for the late reply, I only occasionally check youtube comments. Anyway yes, it does work. In fact it works better than when using a keyboard. Mouse controller forces the game into the "wheel" gamepad mode, and this is required by the app.
Hey, chill out a bit, yes it's far from baked and the tutorials are quite confusing as well since he's pushing every 5 minutes, yet, you're not paying and we're talking about a game after all. The guy is so invested on it, the "such garbage" is completely unnecessary on my opinion. The only reason we have such cool stuff in ETS is because of guys like Tumppi066.
