Good thing they didn’t choose the stripes one. Looks awful. The current one is good imo, especially with the constellation features. The Brazilian empire fligas were incredible too.
Of all the awful things the First Republic governments did, abandoning the Imperial flag for arguably the single ugliest copy of the Star Sprangled Banner was one of their many great disservices to the Nation, so much so it lead to a rare case of regretting the decision so much they designed the current flag out of the Imperial one.

(Their meaning in the Republic flag is changed for the nature and the riches, with the blue orb being the night sky of Rio de Janeiro during the proclamation of the Republic, with the PoV being from the space to the Earth.) 3 - The Dutch colony in Brazil was a short lived venture, they controlled part of the now Northeast states of Brazil (at the time, they were important centers of Brazil). It was a very interesting period and the portuguese reconquest had big repercussions for the history of the US too! 4 - One of the main reasons for the change to a more similar format to the Imperial Flag is that the leader of the republican coup, the Marechal Deodoro da Fonseca, was a monarchies and a personal friend of Dom Pedro II, and it's said that he wasn't a fan of the more US like flag. I'm not from brazil but I have never heard somebody from brazil use "the united states of brazil" so thats just my experience.
@@jeremyfisher8512 - I know why and it’s silly. Also, just because you personally haven’t heard of something, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist >>> pt.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estados_Unidos_do_Brasil
@@danidejaneiro8378 never said it didn't exist?? you used the word "they" which I thought you were referring to Brazilians' in general but I was just recounting my experience of never hearing it. And explain why its "silly" that they might consider it one continent and why its silly that they might call themselves "American" when all of it is called america anyways no matter if its north and south or just one whole piece.
@@jeremyfisher8512 - no, I mean that it's silly that they should demand that we change the way we speak our language how our ancestors have spoken it for centuries when none of us native speakers are confused about the difference between American, North American and South American. If they wanna be "americanos" in their own language, that's their decision. But they don't get to copy the flag, copy the country name, copy the system of government and then call USA imperialists for not changing how we speak our own language.
Not original vs cool circle and diamond
As a Brazilian living in Nederland I might say that I need a t-shirt with the Kroketten en Stroopwafels flag!
United States of Brazil (USB??)
yes, this was the first name of Brazil when turns into a republic at 1889 and lasted until 1968, but in portuguese "Estados Unidos do Brasil"
@@Lucas66393 - actually it was Brazil with a Z
@@danidejaneiro8378 nah, since 1897 the brazilian academy of letters sayed that the name was with S
Wait! Brazils flag used to look like the US flag?
yes for 4 days lol
@@umapessoaincomum Explains why Ive never head of it.
I like the Brazilian flag. Thank you
Watermelon flag
I had no idea that Brazil once had a flag similar to America's
We still technically do. Some States like Piauí and Sergipe still use that HIDEOUS First Republican flag as their State flags.
If you wanna see a rather interesting Brazilian spin on the Star Sprangled Banner though, I suggest you check the flags of São Paulo and Maranhão.
@@peixeserra9116 interesting
Fred ahaha that hurts after the Liverpool game ahaha. 7-0…

Hello bro, will you make a video on the Russian Volunteer Corps?
It was thrown out into the trash, where it belonged. 🇧🇷
I'm glad the Brazilians didn't stay with that green version of the US flag. It was too derivative. I love their current flag. It was a good design choice. Bem feito, Brasil!
The US flag is extremely ugly, our flag is unique and there is no flag in the world similar to ours.
I appreciate the sentiment and get your meaning, but just as a heads up... When we say "Bem feito!" here in Brazil, with a certain amount of emphasis, we're usually saying with that schadenfreudian feeling of seeing someone being punished by karma. It's our "Nelson's Ha-ha!"
Again, thanks, and I am also glad that they changed the flag because it looked terrible. No offense to the American flag, it's just that it looks like an awful attempt at imitation.
What's with that top hat made out of stars anyway? **cringes**
I love Brazil beautiful country
MAKE A VIDEO ON WHAT HAPPENED TO THE OLD PARAGUAY & URUGUAY FLAG
why this salsaish background music? it has nothing to do with brazil.
Thank you! Very weird! 😂
Haha who cares? Brazilians call everyone gringo without the slightest respect for individual nationalities, cultures and languages. Why should we care about Brazil?

The slogan should be for the Dutch Brazil flag. "As final touch God created the Dutch"
The only flag with a joke on it........
🤣🤣🤣🤣 yes
Stroopwafel isn't a joke, it's deliciousness
You don't say, Brazil and order go hand and hand.
It's the national motto, every country has a national motto 🤡

Hello
The Brazillian orange flag deserved the like! XD
How is it that a Brit is so Dutch? Family ties?
Because they need a nice flag to represent themselves during the World Cup.
_kroketten en stroopwalves_ ? more like _coxinha en caipirinha_
or whatever name the dutch would've given to the the most famous finger food in brazil: the Coxinha!
Lovely
Talk further about Dutch Brazil.
