So frustrating to get so little coverage outside of the bikes. Based in Kenya and can't find any good coverage. More on the trucks and the cars outside of the top teams would be much appreciated
Some of the teams have their own channel and videos where you can get more info, for example Audi.
But yeah it is super annoying how little coverage there actually is. A 10min migth be enough for one class but is not nearly enough for all classes together.
😂you haven't been watching Dakar long huh .we usually get like a min of bikes the rest is usually cars and trucks and you don't see anything from the dude outside the top 10.the coverage always sucks welcome to the world of being a Dakar fan 😐
This channel spends half the video on the bikes. 30 sec on quads and 2 min of cars 1 min trucks
The shyt show from dakar media and broadcasting officials thry don't care. Dakar is going down the with the fan base.

It's not because they cannot translate. It's because in english speaking worlds it becomes an expectation to use soft language. Basically it means you cannot say negative/bad things. And a broken wrist is bad for a racer, therefore you lie.

@@alimanski7941 could be, could also be that context was added later on and thus as this video is more directed to a more english speaking audience, left it at that since it matches pretty well in timing.

These presentations are the definition of world class. Desert racing is a grinding, lonely endeavor, and you bring warmth, humor, empathy, and a great visual insight to this race.

They are just dune buggies. Custom made rally vehicles. Nobody cares if it is Audi, or Skoda, or "Nasser"? The cycles are still branded.

I remember back in the early 2000's speedvision used to have descent coverage. I think that's the last time I saw anything worth watching. I'm still a Dakar fan,just wish I knew where to watch actually watch good coverage

Or at least 30 mins. Back in the day there was a brilliant 30 min highlights on TV everyday in the Indian Sub. Now it's no more for quite a while sadly. A great motorsport event with such shitty management.

Would love to see more coverage of the trucks. 30 seconds of coverage doesn't do it justice.
For those who ask longer highlights, L'Equipe makes it of 1 hour. But they are in french, I dont know in how many countries they are available, and they release it in late (now, they published the highlights of Stage 1 just 30 minutes ago...)
Must be mind challenging driving the Audi, with the engine generator at full power. Especially modeling the throttle on the dunes.
Must be annoying hearing it at the same rpm the whole time. Part of me just can't help but hate them, even if I'm generally unopposed to green tech.

If Nasser stayed at Toyota, he could be probably leading by some margin. The new car, seems to be managing better avoiding punctures.
Thinking the same thing. I guess Nasser is missing the Hilux. This new Hilux looks so collected and beautifully balanced. But it's early days, things can and probably will change.
@@alexd302 Toyota looks to be missing a top contender on the Team to fight for the victory. Seth Quintero is being impressive, but could lack the experience to manage the gap.
Agree 100%. Is he psychologically mature enough yet? Clearly, he is fast. You don't have to win every day, just be somewhere in the top 10 every day and natural attrition will move you up. Then, deep into the event, reassess and make your move.@@RogerM88

Can someone explain the R2 (rally 2) standing for the top classes? Some people are considered in those, some are not? I don't understand the 2nd leaderboard.
If you mean the w2rc leaderboard I think that that only shows competitors who compete in all world rally raid championship events and the total championship.
Dakar is part of a championship with other races throughout the year, but they allow competitors to enter only for the dakar and not participate in the championship.
The other races are Abu Dhabi desert challenge, Ultimate rally raid in portugal, Ruta 40 in Argentina and the Morrocan Rally
