My favorite Oz book I own is a pop up book my mom gave me the final Christmas we spent together before she passed away. I plan on using it and other Oz books as bedtime stories for my future kids

I am trying to collect early editions of the first 14. It too expensive to collect first editions so i go for the color plate editions. Even some of the reprinted Reilly and Lee first 11 books are now over 100 years old! I also love finding written in the book cover. I found some lovely hand written notes for a birthday in 1919 and another xmas note from 1921 as well.

Okay that’s super ironic they didn’t make paperbacks of Oz until 1939!! I didn’t know most of these publishing facts about the books, but did know about the colored plates 😄

You know, I'd probably feel the same if I was on your end. I recognize looking at the collection now, y'all weren't there to see most of the collection's growth. I didn't own that many Oz books for years (this was before the internet really took off...). So it could look like, "I just own all of these books" and "collecting Oz books is easy" which we all know it's not! At least that's how it's been for me. I don't own any first edition _Wizard of Oz_ books (The _Tin Woodman of Oz_ book I showed was an early edition but not a first). So don't go away thinking I've got first editions, cause I don't.

@@LAQuadling Well just your plethora of books. Particularly the Harper Collins re-editions of the originals.

@@forrestdupre87 I really like those comics! I remember the first time I saw them in our local bookstore, I found a chair and started reading.
