Just found you while searching for answers on my '00 7.3 (330k miles). Good work brother, you answered my question and I found myself still watching way after...back to work for me. Thanks! And good content 👊
Has your intake air temps gotten any higher doing that, I was going to clean mine up, and wrap them or paint them like you did, but didnt want hotter air getting in there
@@shanemartinson5006 I haven't been paying much attention to them too be honest, but I have not noticed any change in performance since removing the wrap. I have seen on a variety of different platforms that the wrapping was actually put in place more for sound deadening than for temperature.
Hey man just wanted to say great informative videos keep it up I’m in the same boat with my 01 f550 7.3 Powerstroke powerhouse 👌can’t beat these motors !!!
I like the look! Makes the engine pop without going over the top. Don't think you would gain much of anything with the powder coat unless the paint doesn't last. Good job!
Thanks man! I am pretty darn happy with how it turned out. I think the powder coat would really give it that final bit of luster, but overall this is much better than I expected! We will see how it holds up.
If you havent done it already, you might want to change your upper radiator hose to the one for a dual alternater set up. Makes changing or removing the belt alot easier. Added bonus of not having to remove the hose and losing coolent.
When you did the lines on the hpop end do you just remove the fittings as well and screw in the new ones. Any issues?. Getting ready to do the same on mine and wanna be prepared for anything where it's my daily driver. Heard that sometimes they strip out.
Trying to remember correctly but I believe it’s just remove the fittings and the check valves/springs then put the new ones in. They can strip out so don’t crank on it as hard as you can.
Hello, thank you for this helpful video. Like you, I am switching my hpop from factory to CBC lines. I am wondering how worried I need to be about stripping the threads on the hpop from changing the factory connectors. Thank you 🙏🏻
Just got an aluminum tank for mine I was a little skeptical on the price cuz it's not a mishimoto but actually was very surprised with the quality got it from Rudy's performance parts cost 179 very pleased I have changed that stupid plastic tank probably about four times I've owned the truck since it was new definitely a great upgrade anyways truck looks amazing my friend keep up the good work
I'll have to look into theirs for sure! I haven't had any issues with mine YET, but I do think it would look a lot better with a nice aluminum one in there.
Hey bud love the content I work on my 7.3 all the time - I hate the heat pipe wrap on mine and want to get rid of it like this - haven’t had any issues without heat wrap on that pipe behind alternator? Thanks for the great content!
Looks really good 👍. I noticed you have the turbo valve delete pedestal, what did you do with the wire that was previously hooked up to the original pedestal?
Sharp eye! I ran it unplugged for quite a while before putting RiffRaffs dummy plug into it. It throws a soft code when it is unplugged but it doesn't have any adverse effects.
@@LivingOnWheels yeah their customer service is top notch! I ordered a bunch of stuff from them for early '99 7.3 and shipping was fast! Do you have a link for dummy plug, i can't seem to find it on their site?
Hey thanks for your work and videos on the 7.3’s! I would be curious to know if your intake temperature has increased by using the engine bay for your air source and removing the heat shielding from your piping? I guess the only way to know would be to install a temp gauge in a stock truck and then in yours. Gail Banks has some interesting videos on the subject of input temp vs air density.
Nice!! I see guys like you and then I see guys that lose a line at 115k. I’ve already had a blown HPOP O-ring leave me on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere Wyoming so I try not to push my luck on the big systems.
The pipes look great in Blue! My pipes and inter-cooler from Banks and came Gray and the colour has held up well over the years. I gots to get me that Fuel Bowl delete kit! Way sweet and opens up the engine for easy repairs! Keep up the great video work... I'm blasted your channel to all of my Power Stroke buds!
Much appreciated man! Its gonna be getting a whole new color scheme under the hood here really soon!! And yes, having the fuel bowl out of there makes it SOOOO much nicer to work on different things
Great looking piping! Yeah, I love a deeper blue color but they look amazing! That issue with Sinister Diesel trying to trademark their color blue was ridiculous! Engine bay looks great, I can’t wait to see more. Thanks for all you do making your videos!
I definitely thought about color matching but I was trying to find a nice complimentary color. This didn't turn out quite how I had hoped but it gives me any idea of how it d look. Still not sure what route I'll go when I powder coat everything.
The pipes look Great!

I love the channel. I just bought my first 7.3 and your a big help for any questions I have or repairs. Keep it up. 👍👍👍
Engine bay looking real good now brudda
Thanks man! Definitely a step in the right direction!

You don't wrap your intercooler hot side. How hot does it actually get? I like that look without the burrito or exhaust wrap.
How much fuel mileage are you getting now

I haven't done it yet, but I do have the new hose sitting on the shelf!

As long as you’re not just cranking on them you should be just fine

No issues not wrapping the hot side??
Nope, not a single issue
may affect air temps and therefore combustion?
@@LivingOnWheels I heard there is more whistle to the turbo If you take the insulation off the Inter cooler pipe, is it true?
@@jeffersonmoctezuma3733 my understanding is that it was more for sound than it was for heat.

Thanks for watching the videos! I should hopefully be having a video testing this type of thing coming out here in the near future.
Dammit man it looks awesome I wouldn't have done it any differently.
What’s the paint you used if u can send me a link to it
I used rustoleums painters touch. If I were to do it again I’d throw a clear coat on it to give it more of a gloss to it.
Was that not the coolant overflow tank that you want to replace with an aluminum tank?
Yes, that is what I was talking about.
I still have the original lines on my '99 335K miles
