This is the best episode to date , probably because I've had a fully refreshed COVID build gen 3 sitting in my shop as a conversation piece rather than in a usable piece of equipment. Thanks guys , and I like the color too
finally, some more Mopar Content and I love the platform and the ability to make a 5.7 in absolute monster with its larger displacement, brothers parts. traction will always be an issue. I know Spinning ain’t winning but its fun.
Remember, this is a really old episode. They grew a lot on quality over the years... This episode was not long after the first release of the Hellcat Challanger, so aeons ago...
Should have kept the piston oil squirters for a pump gasoline focused build. Would be cool to see a twin turbo tow focused build, or an endurance racing build for a track hawk while utilizing pump gasoline.
6.125 rod, LS 0.927 pin, LS 1.5, 1.5, 3.0 rings? LS Anyone else picking up on a trend? The Ford Godzilla did the same shit. Used LS roller lifters and trays in theirs, along with several other items that were damn near spot on identical to LS. Had they not made such GIANT gaps around the cylinders to allow for machining in a fire ring, the blocks and heads would have been able to handle a LOT more than 1000 hp before lifting the heads and torching the blocks.
I'm not making excuses for what they did 20 years ago when this was recorded. But they were under an impossible timeline and budget. So if it meant more cash and time spent on internals. The block exterior lost out.
The mains are NOT a 6 bolt design like Chevys LS motor. That’s a blatant lie. I don’t know how they let that get to the public. Makes Me question who really has the true knowledge at the company/channel🤦🏾♂️
@@19chev81 last time I checked My eyes worked pretty good. I only see the 2 that’s studded and the 2 cross bolts. PLEASE explain where these magic bolts are hiding🤦🏾♂️
Its only a 2 bolt mainz. Those sides ones are there to make the block stronger. There is ftermarket blocks that are true 4 bolt mains with the side bolts a little bigger for strength
Also, WHY would they not have SAM school go ahead and bead blast and bake the block to get rid of that shit original paint. Their decision to paint over that garbage made the whole build look like garbage.

I was just thinking the same thing 🤣🤣🤣🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️😆😆😆
Maybe get a longer laptop cable for the dyno, if the prop shaft breaks or the rear wheel blows up you can end up dead if unlucky.
A blast from the past. 🤣
A pair of GT35s , and forged rods, and pistons, and 800 wheel should be cake.
Y’all commenting realize how old this show is, right? 2016!
Awesome and always worth the watch, especially with the lubricant overview.
about time y'all show a true American muscle car engine build.
When haven’t they made these type of videos
@@ethancooper1127 all they show is gm and ford junk.

They didn't fit. They showed that.
4:10 That block should have been thermal cleaned (baked) to remove all that ugly paint and rust.
yep my thoughts as well
15:52 min, That looks like something out of Star Trek.
The Klingon Bird of Boost
Um where's the other 2 studs for the main caps.....just like an LS 😂 ok Pat if you say so 😂
Luv this channel ❤
Cool content.
😅 That crankshaft ....
I would have relieved all the edges and sharp corners on that block

Yeah LS stuff is a lot cheaper than Mopar stuff, and available in more configurations than Mopar stuff.
Still waiting for the NORTHSTAR build. I challenge you! DO IT
I wish I grew up with Mike ! ( You have no idea )
Hi there from Australia
Will engine grout interfere with over heating issues on the street use.thanks from Rainer from Cairns Australia.
My 4 years of High School has me only counting 4 bolt mains, not 6.
The paint is Dino heat tested ? What does that mean ?
Look at 😂 those cylinder bores 😂 …..
4:98 6 bolt design Pat, just like an LS?!?!?!
@@yarrdayarrdayarrda that’s what threw Me off. Even PAT shoulda been sharp enough to refuse that voice-over scripted lie🤦🏾♂️
I feel like I watched this episode a couple years ago
You did. PN2 is old episodes
Bout time dudes! (easy to be judgmental if you dont have to pay for it)
You all should so a where are they now show, It would be nice to where Mike is these days and Rick Bacon etc
6 bolt mains? I’m only seeing 4 bolts (2 on the main and 2 cross bolts)
hemihemamon
Hate too tell you...but...I have pulled that motor out, without dropping the sub-frame....
Where are the other 2 main cap bolts?
This episode is old asf
I wanted to put a hemi in my 2000 jeep grand cherokee swap it out...
Lost me at painting over all the loose paint on the block !
Sam tech school lol. Kids go to real school
Shitty job cleaning the block! You can see the old paint about to flake off man geez!
You left the old paint on the block? Not professional IMHO

Not going with Hemi Orange hurt my soul. You have hurt me today.
