@@StevenAnthonyGuitar I’m not gonna argue that the new ones aren’t expensive. I think with the latest release they’ve tamed the prices a bit. The Firebird costs way too much and I’m not sure if it’s actually built any differently than this. But one custom shop pickup doesn’t cost that much so it has to come down to construction but I’m also certain all epi birds are neck through so idk. I know they want to compete with mim and on that note the lp custom, 355, and sg custom are fair for what you get imo between the ebony and mother of pearl custom shop pickups and hard shell case it’s fair. A vintera jag is over 2k cad with a soft case and mim electronics for a tad more than they sg so relative to the market i think those are fair. The firebirds not so much. I think if they can offer ebony with mother of pearl then there rly shouldn’t be laurel on these models it’s not a massive cost difference to put on rosewood. Its coming from india so its not like a japan alder issue which results in the use of high quality basswood. Itll probably be cheaper to put rosewood on an epi than an actual gibson given the cost of logistics.
@@Coolbeans1492 usually with Epiphones I feel like the Gibson USA version is a bigger upgrade, at least that's my personal experience when it comes to Les Pauls and SGs. But with my regular Epiphone Firebird I somehow don't feel that way, it plays and sounds great already. I wouldn't even consider paying at least double as much for the new Epiphone versions. And in regards to the original comments, I don't think the brand says anything about what might make it special. I have a Squier Esquire that I think is special. Will it ever be as good as a Fender Custom Shop? Of course not! But it's special because for the money I got a guitar that looks, plays and sounds great.
Sweet bird! Those bonamassa birds are so cool. I wasnt able to watch this video earlier… vacation and now in hospital for appendix surgery🥳
Ouch, get well soon! I hope your appendix trouble and your vacation didn't overlap?
@@StevenAnthonyGuitar thankfully not. Appendix surgery in thailand would have been interesting for sure. 👍 😂
@@Gaslight.Guitar yeah that wouldn't have been so great. I hope you get well soon!
@@StevenAnthonyGuitar thanks man. Appreciate it!

@@DouglasMcLaughlin-kq7hk What are you trying to tell me?
Nothing special about any Epiphone.
I disagree. For the money this was a great guitar, regardless of what it says on the headstock!
Try buying a gibson version then say this isn’t a great alternative at the same level of an mim fender?
@@Coolbeans1492 exactly that! And these were and are cheaper than the new Epiphone Firebird I, but actually have a rosewood board.
