Three years of waiting lists and I finally completed my collection of Helms this week with the arrival of my Khuraburi. This was the least appealing of the 4 for me but in the flesh I like it a lot, more so than the Vanuatu and Komodo. The toned down black version looks the best imo. It also wears very comfortably for such a heavy watch and I hardly notice it on wrist. It's worth mentioning that as of October 24 the waiting lists for all Helms have dropped significantly, it's about a year for all but the Komodo.
I just my first Khuraburi (blue and orange). This is staying on my wrist for a long time. I've never been happier with a watch than this. My expectations was high, and it was even better!
You really bring a great review format and an endlessly entertaining personality to these extremely well-crafted reviews. From your t-shirt selection to your sly humor, watching them is always such a treat. Bonus points for the Spinal Tap reference in this one. Cheers!
Jody just recently acquired a brand new never worn and still wrapped in plastic Khuraburi this week. I traded my Borealis Seahawk with someone in a Facebook watch group. I’ve never been so impressed with a watch . It’s extremely well made diver watch . The watch I got is the blue and white , no date with the crown at 4 o’clock. You’re review on this watch is spot on .
Ended up pre-ordering this solely based on your review. Now the wait continues till the end of the year to actually get it in hand. Love you channel, please keep up the good work.
Wow, just massive chunky over-engineered loveliness. I have a Vanuatu, which gets a lot of wrist time on its black and orange zulu strap. I am sorely tempted by the stable-mate. What Jody says about the accuracy of these watches is spot on. The Vanuatu keeps excellent time, more so than many of my other watches. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for the Komodo. Nice. Helm really seem to have nailed this format. I hope they're making a lot of cash so they don't have to cut corners in the future. As always, thanks for the video, you may be responsible for me buying just one more :)
Owning watches with both the nh35 and the Miyota 9015 , I much prefer the nh35 all day long. It's an absolute pleasure setting time and date also winding that movement, 9015 not so much, all kinds of play in the crown
WOW that's the first Helm review I have seen and really looking forward to the other one. I'm as blown away as you are, you can see the quality from here (Yorkshire, UK). It's all good for me except my one bugbear, yep you guessed it... thickness. Imagine if it was a chrono it would be 20mm thick. Having said that for the money it's a perfect fit and forget holiday watch. On the right NATO or whatever (still love bracelets myself) or that hunk of metal it's the Hummer of watches and all misgivings aside, I'm with you Jody...I Love It 😍
I have the Vanuatu, and the Seiko movement is accurate to about 3 seconds a day over a month for me. If it ain't broke, don't fix it....I'm very happy with the movement. It wears really well because the weight is evenly distributed. I think this one too will be the same as it's about the same weight as the Vanuatu. I'm going for the all blue one in a few weeks :-)
Recently bought the blue/orange version, i totally love it, even bought a u.v torch to look at the lume in all its glory, buying different straps also as like to see variety, blue barton silicone special coming next!
Looks great, on the waiting list with a lot of other enthusiasts who can hardly wait to own one. Only bad thing about smaller watch makers who make great watches is they tend to run out of supply.
As a result of this review I am awaiting their black / orange 02al2 with the 10 o’clock crown coming back into stock so I can get my sticky mitts on it. Great review !
Love this review, and love the watch! I think Seiko movements are strong and service free. I own about 20 watches at this point, but before this I wore a Seiko 5 for about23 years and guess what watch is on my wrist right now, that same never serviced Seiko! I always look for your reviews first. They’re so entertaining !
i think with the cartoonish sizing of the features is a very practical thing. i felt the same way about my samurai until i had to use it at night and found the bigness of the indices fades into the darkness because the size gives you the context of where things are in low visibility.
I sold two of these because it wasn't the exact model i wanted. Just got an email after waiting almost 2 years on the list that my turn is up. Can't wait.
Beautiful watch but everything is a little chunkier than it should be, including the indices. The quality looks incredible though. Would love to see it with slightly scaled down dimensions (41x13x46x22)
I own the Khuraburi and it stands toe-to-toe with my $2000 Pilot's Chrono with a Valjoux 7750. I'm not comparing the movements, but the watch overall. I think the use of the inexpensive NH38 movement was a good strategic choice. It seems to have allowed Helm to craft a serious dive watch that's built like a tank and sports one of the best bracelets for anything near this price point. From where I see it, they chose an unglamorous but reliable workhorse movement and put everything else into the rest of the watch. I salute them for that.
Great review! You cover everything about watches that I want to know (all the dimensions including lug-lug length of a watch, accuracy reports and lume). It looks like you're down to the last link after re-sizing that bracelet. Would you say its too big to fit my 6.5" wrist size?
This watch is an homage to the IWC Aquatimer Automatic( IW356806). None the less, it looks to be a well made watch with nice features. I will be looking forward to getting one
Love your reviews! It does not matter if it is a cheaper or more expensive watch - your reviews are always entertaining and full of suitable information! Best regards, Claus P.S.: I got my Starking Automatic yesterday and I’m exited about what a watch for under €33 shipped has to offer! Thanks for your recommendation.
I have been close to pulling the trigger on this watch. Then something went wrong in checkout. Took it as an omen. I actually like this the the best of the two. May still own one someday. Thanks for the excellent video.
Thanks for another great vid. Check out the watches from Armida. I believe they are made by the same group as Helm. I have an Armida A1 42mm and I just picked up their new A12 62MAS homage. Cheers.
Do you really need a day or date ? I would prefer a date but you have to check in case it's a 30 day month and you may forget to push the date a day forward. For me, the day of the week is an unnecessary complication. I just love this watch, I've just got to get one. I have 7 1/2 " wrist so the size is going to be fine for me.
It’s perfect if you are a real scuba diver though. Easy to see even in murky water…it sits proud so my wetsuit sleeve doesn’t cover it. The bezel is got a good grip if I’m wearing gloves… Again perfect for REAL diving.
almost too much -- but not quite. love it. also: could someone please tell me what watch is in the top right of the winders at the end of the video? its got a blue dial/bezel. Thanks!
Great video and context again Jordy, congratulations. Its a love child of a Citizen and Seiko with a kettle shaped body reminiscent of the earlier Oris tt1's. Stunning piece I must say. I'm looking at the blue/orange one for myself but also looking at the seiko baby tuna black/yellow srp 639k1. Both will end up around the same price. Hmmm any thoughts and opinions out there?
I bought one and it's a nice piece for the price with many positives. Can certainly do with some refinements no doubt, starting with a trigger release on the clasp. How do you get it glow so brightly on video. I can't get the lume that bright for the life of me leaving me shattered. Very disappointing compared to my seiko. A nice looking watch though for sure.
Love everything about the watch. Slightly too big for me but I hope to see people wearing it. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the Helm logo. It reminds me more of a helicopter landing pad than a boat helm. The writing on the clasp could be classier also. At this price it's an amazing piece.
Great watch, but if you get one with the orange, the lume on the orange is extremely disappointing. This watch is similar in width and design to the Citizen's Promaster BN0150-28E, another great watch. Thanks for your great Helm reviews and turning me on to these great watches.
Man I love this watch! I don't think I'd mind the size. I'm tempted by the blue dial, orange accent version, but I'm not sure the lume would be as spectacular, we will see.
I would have named this Helm model "Fatboy" as it looks morbidly obese and in need of dieting. It looks solid enough to stop a bullet. Still, I appreciate its high build quality, excellent value for money, documented ISO certification, and blinding lume brilliance. I'm hoping Helm introduces a slimmed down version of this watch with thinner indices, hands and a smaller crown that won't dig into the wrist. Thanks for another informative and insightful video.
Crown comes on either side for that reason! To me it's like a Nixon 51-30 that won't need battery every two and you can read in the dark (and it's actually WEIRD instead of just "cool.")
Just One More Watch ...... Whoooooaaaa...... That blue Odyssea is a stunner. This is why I'm such a fan of JOMW, I wouldn't have a clue about these microbrands otherwise. Few chanels bother with your value for money approach. I can't afford high end Swiss timepieces, but thanks to you a whole world of realistically priced quality watches has opened up.
Great review Jody. I have a few inbound watches that you can review, plus another two versions of the same watch that you can take a look at too in the Helm pricing bracket. In Sydney also.
I think 44mm would look better considering thickness. Btw, Khuraburi and Vanuatu are 42mm, Komodo 40mm, that is too similar for me. Please make a 44mm!
I own the same exact model and is GREAT , btw my only gripe is the basic movt being most of the time fairly inaccurate (from my personal experience and from others) , mine is averaging +10/17secs a day which is pretty annoying timing is the most important thing in a watch even in a diver, so i would have appreciated more than the pressure test (never got a watch failing it) if the prototype passes all the factory tests even the production models will. While i have experienced many inaccurate watches, Nodus does regulate their watches before shipping which i find it great, knowing that your watch will be out of the box fairly accurate and you have not to bother over this matter
the Helm Khuraburi looks much better build wise compared to Zelos Swordfish, which I am awaiting to be delivered. Some might argue that the Swordfish come with an NH35 movement but Zelos did not include a date window on NH35 models.
Jody...I love this watch...And I’ve been trying to get a hold of a Helm fo a good while...I missed the boat again...So If you don’t I want to add this one to your Helm collection I would be more than happy to take it off your hands...Or more accurately your wrist! 😂
This is a real nice watch but i fear it may just be too big for me, otherwise i think i may have given it a shot. Your videos are great as they give me a look at watches i never new existed.
There's something pretty about it not pretty. That sort of no nonsense look. Big bold markers and hands. Just looks like an absolute beast.. I wish they made a thinner 40mm version though.

Thanks for the kind words mate, much appreciated.
I realize I'm kinda randomly asking but does anyone know a good site to watch new tv shows online?
@@jaycejaime3965 I realize I'm kinda randomly providing an answer, but fish makes a poor substitute for steak. Unless it's swordfish or Ahi tuna.

i went on HELM's waiting list for a Khuraburi in october of 2021, i received an email 3 days ago that my watch is almost ready. almost two years.
Wow, just massive chunky over-engineered loveliness. I have a Vanuatu, which gets a lot of wrist time on its black and orange zulu strap. I am sorely tempted by the stable-mate. 'How much lume do you want?'
'Yes.'
Never too much lume in my book
Owning watches with both the nh35 and the Miyota 9015 , I much prefer the nh35 all day long. It's an absolute pleasure setting time and date also winding that movement, 9015 not so much, all kinds of play in the crown
Really great watch from Helm. I'm tempted to buy one myself.

Man...... really can't resist getting the Khuraburi. My Vanuatu is already looking forward to meet it's powerlifting sister.
Looks great, on the waiting list with a lot of other enthusiasts who can hardly wait to own one. Only bad thing about smaller watch makers who make great watches is they tend to run out of supply.
That movement is no downside....that accuracy is outstanding!
As a result of this review I am awaiting their black / orange 02al2 with the 10 o’clock crown coming back into stock so I can get my sticky mitts on it. Great review !
This is such a beautiful watch .
The lume tease was worth the wait
I absolutely love my Buri (blue & white, 4 o’clock).
You can’t find a better deal out there. I also have a Vanuatu. Love it too.
I don't mind those negatives at all! Bulking big beastie of a brute. I love it.
Love this review, and love the watch! I think Seiko movements are strong and service free. Which Samurai are you referring to Hung? #1 or #2? Hahahaha!
I sold two of these because it wasn't the exact model i wanted. Just got an email after waiting almost 2 years on the list that my turn is up. Can't wait.
informative video and a beautiful watch, thanks.
may i know if its possible to remove another inch and an half off your size from the bracelet?
Fantastic video Jody! I love your enthusiasm and attention to detail; an excellent and entertaining review. Thank you :)
Beautiful watch but everything is a little chunkier than it should be, including the indices. The quality looks incredible though. Would love to see it with slightly scaled down dimensions (41x13x46x22)
Built like a rock, increable lume and sapphire. This might possibly be the ultimate diver.
I own the Khuraburi and it stands toe-to-toe with my $2000 Pilot's Chrono with a Valjoux 7750. I'm not comparing the movements, but the watch overall. Bloody hell!!! What an utter beast of a machine!! And that lume looks like its been sourced straight from the local nuclear power plant....geesh!!!
Great review! You cover everything about watches that I want to know (all the dimensions including lug-lug length of a watch, accuracy reports and lume). It looks like you're down to the last link after re-sizing that bracelet. Would you say its too big to fit my 6.5" wrist size?
Probably mate, hang on for the Komodo later this year. Cheers!
It’s took a while but I’ve finally managed to order one. Thanks Jody
I really like that watch and the whole style.

Hi , great watch , is yours for sale ?
Jody: If you had a choice between the SS Khuraburi or the Titanium version; Which would you buy?
Thanks for another great vid. Check out the watches from Armida. I believe they are made by the same group as Helm. I have an Armida A1 42mm and I just picked up their new A12 62MAS homage. Cheers.

Again perfect for REAL diving.
I would seriously consider one of these....cracking review of a fantastic time piece....
my favorite helm. unfortunately due to my wrist size, 1 of 2 helm watches I simply can't wear
almost too much -- but not quite. love it.
also: could someone please tell me what watch is in the top right of the winders at the end of the video? its got a blue dial/bezel. Thanks!
Best presentation so far. Keep it up. ABC should take notice. JK but you should be on television.
when you're 100ft under water, you will appreciate the volume at 11
Great video and context again Jordy, congratulations. Its a love child of a Citizen and Seiko with a kettle shaped body reminiscent of the earlier Oris tt1's. Stunning piece I must say. Why have I missed this beauty. Sold when back in stock ☺
Great review and video.
On another note... Talk about a beast mode watch.
Looks good. A little like the seiko monsters.
Love everything about the watch. Slightly too big for me but I hope to see people wearing it.
The only thing I'm not a fan of is the Helm logo. It reminds me more of a helicopter landing pad than a boat helm. The writing on the clasp could be classier also.

Beautiful watch, only one little detail: if you don't know the orientation of the watch his hard to tell where is the 12 o'clock marker 😂😉
That lume is outrageously awesome!!
I need a new sports/diver. Orient triton or the helm khurraburi? I'm a big guy with an 8inch wrist
That is very good news about the "Komodo". Looking forward to that one😊.
hey jody....do you remember what buckle is on the canvas strap?
Your review just cost me $330!, fantastic reviews, it's great to watch reviews (pardon the pun), where quality and value comes before the brand name.
Mine doesn't have lume on the orange so I can't tell the time in the dark. The white is ok ish not bright like yours.
Wonder this would look on a mesh braclet
Love the specs, especially the lume!
Great looking watch I'm a big guy so I'm a fan of bigger watches keep up the great work your friend from Tennessee
Very nice watches indeed.
Two blue Makos in the Boxy winders?
Just One More Watch ...... Whoooooaaaa...... That blue Odyssea is a stunner.

Just One More Watch love my Mako II it’s a good workhorse.
Perfect watch and size.
Nice looking watch. And the loom!! And accuracy ...
Not really my cup of tea, but wow, that lume is amazing!
Nice review Jody. Luminosity!
Looks a bit like a stowa prodiver had a fling with a monster ...(seriously, helm doing great things). Nice review
Waiting for the 40mm Komodo. Love both Helm watches but I have small wrists
Mate, I can't wait for that one myself. Cheers!
Love the sword and shield action going on here.
Great review Jody. I have a few inbound watches that you can review, plus another two versions of the same watch that you can take a look at too in the Helm pricing bracket. In Sydney also.
Mate! I'd love that! Get in touch...... justonemorewatch@gmail.com
Done.
I think 44mm would look better considering thickness. Btw, Khuraburi and Vanuatu are 42mm, Komodo 40mm, that is too similar for me. Please make a 44mm!
Perfect pronunciation on Khuraburi!
Thanks mate! More luck than judgement, but I 'll take it. Cheers!
Almost ridiculous: It is amazing that these... things get made.
I have to say that I like it. The lume is awesome. A little bit tall case may be. Nice video.
You are in my Holy Trinity of watch channels!
Nice mate! Thanks.
Great review!!! Looking forward for the next batch due on Dec. 2019 to get one of these babies :)
Some crazy cool lume!
I hate you man! You just made me buy this in blue/orange. Can't wait to receive it. Great review.
am in love with this watch... am temepted too
The BEST watches, outrageous value as long as you can pick one up for around £300.
the Helm Khuraburi looks much better build wise compared to Zelos Swordfish, which I am awaiting to be delivered. Some might argue that the Swordfish come with an NH35 movement but Zelos did not include a date window on NH35 models.
Hey mate! The two Helms and the Swordfish definitely the top three divers I have reviewed under $400USD. Cheers!
Cool watch and nice review! ..... A request or suggestion, an hand wound watch for a change? :)
Jody...I love this watch...And I’ve been trying to get a hold of a Helm fo a good while...I missed the boat again...So If you don’t I want to add this one to your Helm collection I would be more than happy to take it off your hands...Or more accurately your wrist! 😂
Can you review Nethuns and Ocean X watches???
ANOTHER GREAT WATCH REVIEW.
This is a real nice watch but i fear it may just be too big for me, otherwise i think i may have given it a shot.
Your videos are great as they give me a look at watches i never new existed.
Great looking watches, I fancy the Komodo but they have nothing in stock!
Komodo brand new model! You can expect a RUclips exclusive review on the 16th March.......
Slept through yesterday’s sale! 😭 oh well next time... whenever that is 😂
did it get away with a 1 year warranty ?
Need one....
Looks quality but a bit tall! Good review, cheers 👍👍
A watch for the Hulk! (the green one that is)
Can you do a video comparing This watch to a helson shark diver I really like your videos You Sound pretty honest and And you Read view
There's something pretty about it not pretty. That sort of no nonsense look. Big bold markers and hands. Just looks like an absolute beast.. I wish they made a thinner 40mm version though.
This looks like it should have been the original ARNIE. Thanks for review Cheers 🍻
