Sadly yes. And is forced to be a resculpt of another figure with a completely different altmode. Which they half a$$ed. They didn't even try to pull the magic they did with Metalhaw from the cyclonus mold treatment. Its a bit insulting really.

With this Legacy version and the OG Cybertron version of Vector Prime, I prefer the Cybertron version due to having his mini-con Safeguard to hooks on his left arm as a arm blaster, having electronics effects when you put the key in his chest, his vehicle mode is way better than the new Legacy version, and his face from Cybertron toy looks more older like the show than the younger Legacy version
Agreed. This figure just doesn't do the original figure justice. It really needed it's own mold. Perhaps even to be a leader class to realy get it right.
@@ZedMazaus480 Agree but Hasbro finds it more cheaper to use the same mold. I want to say the same thing with Legacy Cybertron Optimus Prime which it is not as great as the OG Cybertron version
@@travisbrown6598 Unfortunately I don't have that Optimus in hand yet to compair it to the OG figure. But From what I hear is that it was a rather simple upgrade from the original design withe the electronics and gimmics removed. Then shrunk down a bit. I'll have to wait until I have it in hand before I judge it to hard, but I do see your view on it.
I really only like to get Transformers these days if they're based on Cybertron stuff, or if they're a really cool looking Optimus. I'm excited to pick this up when I find one, I just wish they would release these toys without a transformation. I'd rather a super accurate robot mode that poses really well without all the kibble of a vehicle mode.
Looks okay, but yeesh on the QC issues. Hasblow never learns, eh? Also hearing you on the age thing, IIRC I discovered you when I started using RUclips in what... 2006-7? Oh well, at least we fit in with the Dinobots, no? TBH, didn't pick up the original, but ehhh... bot mode of the new one looks okay, but the spaceship mode looks ögly and stunted.
I didn't get the Jihaxus to me he looked meh but seeing thos as Vector Prime in my honest opinion he's the better looking of the 2 I do agree he deserves a better Paint job but he's got still looks nice I do plan on getting him and if I could fine the Alpha Trion from the 2 pack with Orion Pax I'd like to have a shelf that has all of the ancient Primes and Vector Prime and Alpha Trion are definitely a perfect place to start
I don't have mine in hand yet. So I Can't give a complete/fair opinion on it at the moment. But with that said, I think Hasbro really dropped the ball on this one. For them to use a mold of a character with a drasticly different altmode, and not give it the Metalhawk resculpt magic treatment. Frankly its an absolute slap to the face of the fan base of this iconic character, and it's original toy. They've shown they can do some truely amazing stuff with resculpting older molds, but gave us this instead when they knew people really wanted a proper updated version of the character. They didn't even get rid of the batwing leg slots. It's so lazy it isn't funny. I Expect Hasbro will get alot of flak for this stunt.Other than that it seems like an okay figure. Falls short of the mark in alot of areas, but at least the reused parts aren't suffering from mold fatigue. Perhaps It'll grow on me once I have it in hand. Hasbro deffinetly owes us a better figure of Vector Prime in the Generations Primes line after this stunt.
I actually had the OG toy and just from a quick look at the 2, yeah, there's something to be desired with that figure. Personally I'm not totally sold with the Robot mode personally, but I see the appeal of it. The vehicle mode I do agree is extremely lacking compared to the OG, though I do like that it is more involved in the transformation than the OG (i'm a sucker for that because I love PR stuff).
(As a point of honor, I never look at instruction sheets before attempting transformation. G1 Megatron, G1 Sixshot, and RiD Sideburn are the closest I've ever come to breaking that rule.) Baltmode is achieved when, through no other fault of your own than not having looked at the instructions yet, you *think* you transformed it right.
The original figure had storage for the sword in the nosecone. You even had a faux handle sticking out of the other side to make it look more symmetrical. Honestly, I would have preferred they had made Vector a fully original tooling, that way they could give him both of his swords, improve his articulation and get a few repaints and retools out of it. A generations selects version of SG Alpha Trion from Vector Prime would have been really cool. Yes, I enjoy the "A Hero Is Born" retool of Studio Series Scourge into Alpha Trion, but the opportunity to get another Botcon exclusive through a new toy was severely missed here with making him a retool of Jhiaxus. Granted, they had to get some alternate use of the Jhiaxus mold someway, but I feel like the cost of losing a potential Shattered Glass Alpha Trion is just too high... Oh well...
Okay, I just got my copy in, and it's not a bad figure. It does have it's flaws. All the limb and waist swivels are really loose, chest doesn't lock in place, and the ankle rockers could be tighter too. But over all a decent toy in hand. It could've been better if it wasn't a re50% resculpt of another figure, but with the 13 Primes line coming up they may not have wanted to put alot of energy into a figure when they'll have to put together another one of that character to match that other theme. So I kinda get it, but also wish they were willing to just give him a mold of his own to do him justice. It's not like they couldn't get multiple repaints out of a new mold if they did. I mean the original figure had how many repaints? Like 4 or 5 if I remember correctly. I know people are getting sick to death of repaints, but in this case being the controler of time these repaints could be easily explained as alternate time line versions of him. I know at least one or two of them I'd like to get myself.
I got Legacy Vector Prime yesterday. He's a fun figure and all, but he's definitely missing so much of the swagger the original had that despite all the positives he still disappoints.
Nose of the ship is far too squat, I get it needs to fit in the chest, but it bugs me. I will still get a repaint of this since the Galaxy Force or Universe repaint colors are beautiful.
So compared to the original toy it's double the price, has no electrics, 2 inches shorter and no Safeguard.
Capitalism in a nutshell.
With my gen having to compete with stupid low wages, I feel the system is gonna collapse soon

On the original figure the sword slotted into the side of the Nosecone.

do you have the original cybertron vector prime figure and if so could you review it sometime?
why does the sword handle bend? there has to be a reason
Can you do silverbolt legacy
Not as good as the original, and you can tell it’s a retool of the legacy G2 JIHAXUS mold

The chest piece should extend out to make it like the original Vector Prime's Spaceship look.
But still a cool looking robot and spaceship modes!
This figure Is compatibile with the original minicon.
Alright, now we need a new section of each review called 'Balt Modes', where you just create any additional modes you can come up with.

This is a far better review than Chefatron. Even when discussing the QC issues.
Balt-mode: unofficial alt-mode that the reviewer prefers over the official one? 😁
You can leave the tailfins folded down to give it a more accurate looking vehicle mode.

Thunderwing should be a Commander Class or nothing

Not going to lie to figure and its color scheme give me Star Wars vibe especially when you put it in vehicle mode
It’s due to the ever shrinking budget, so they have to get at least two to three uses out of a mold now.
