It's surprising how the pressure cooker does a job that takes 2-3 hours otherwise in just 20 mins ! Great trick- saves so much time, energy, efforts and of course- unnecessary wastage of fuel most importantly..

Looks luscious. Very easy too. A friend from Coorg, told me that they cook it for a little longer and then cut it into cubes. It is then added to a simple custard and fruit salad.

I read that if you keep the can other side its not suppose to blast... but I have not tried it will not try it because my luck it will blast

But it says 'Do not heat unopened canned condensed milk'on the can..
Because you can't do it if it's not submerged in water, it will explode otherwise.

Hello.. I did this method but unfortunately it did not work out for me... When I opened the can it was only half cooked (caramelised or something). So since I opened it.. I did the oven method.
i do it in the stove mostly because i have to bake cakes for it and they need different temperatures
Can we use pan pressure instead of pressure cooker ?.. I was not getting whistles for nearly 15 mins !! I had to force it to whistle

Yeah it works with a 200gm can as well.. after the first whistle instead of 15 minutes i kept it at a low flame for 9-10 mins and it came out perfect

Can you please tell me the name of the pressure cooker you are using. The only thing I don’t like about Indian pressure cooker is the hissing sound it makes every few minutes.

yes. check out preppy kitchen. but basically, you pour out the amount of condensed milk you want in a bowl, put it in a water bath with the water above the level of the condensed milk, cover the bowl with some foil and put it in the oven

Scam. Scam. Scam. I followed the instructions and ended up with a slightly darker condensed milk. Not Dulce de Leche. It ruined my whole can because I couldn't put an open can back to cook again.
just cuver it with foil and put back in the pot with lower water level or put in waterbath in oven
