    I've made dulce de leche in my pressure cooker. It goes on a rack (label removed), and it takes about 15 minutes. Remove pot from heat and let it do a a natural release of pressure. Works beautifully!

    And that I've recently decided to bump up the flavors and i took out 1 1/2 tablespoons od granulated sugar and put in 1 1/2Tablespoons Brown sugar. Then I added a TAD BIT LESS than 1/4 cup of actual Dulce de Leche and it was awesome! It didnt affect that cake in ANY negative way... Your original recipe is amazung but I wanted to see if I could make the actual cake taste like Dulce de Leche and it DID!!! ANNNYYYWAAAY (sorry for the rambles 😆) thanks again youre awesome!!!

    The condensed milk can is a pretty good solution but gives a much softer flavour than the real thing. Also, you can buy bakers dulce de leche, wich is much thicker than regular (almost like cement some times) so you don’t need to add sugar.

    The baking strips are great for layers that that will be stacked for a layer cake. Some cakes however are nice if the bottoms and sides Caramelize. Things like applesauce bread, banana banana bread, or even a pound cake. I will certainly start using the homemade version of cake strips you demonstrated whenever I’m making a layered cake. I haven’t noticed baking strips in Munich shops, but I’ll keep my eyes open in future.

    • @redreuniclus
      @redreuniclus 6 лет назад +16

      Georgia Andrea use vegetable shortening. The amount of powdered sugar used in this recipe is crazy. Thats why I always prefer Swiss Meringue Buttercream over American Buttercream. Harder to handle coz it isnt as stiff as american buttercream but the taste and texture is way better and only needs a few amount of sugar.

    If you have a pressure cooker or Instant Pot you can make dulce de leche even faster and easier. Peel off the label, fill pot with water to just above the can and cook on High Pressure for 1 hour 20 minutes. I've done it a million times...Trust me. It's so much easier and you don't have to worry about constantly having to replenish the water that evaporates away if you do it on a stove top. Just make sure that the can is not damaged or it could crack open with the pressure.

    Hi there, is there any reason why you don’t use Caster Sugar? What is the difference between normal table salt and kosher salt and therefore would it make a difference if used? Last question, is all purpose flour self raising flour? Love the videos and cakes. Really lovely. Thanks for sharing. Liz
