I know people always complain about infotainment systems, but realistically, how much are you really interacting with it? I almost never touch mine aside from swapping what phone is connected
Practice. Getting comfortable with not always having brilliant things to say, but instead just expressing my feelings behind the wheel while retaining some important data points. Practice, practice
The WRX is more comparable to the MK8 Golf R, because of the AWD. I’ve driven both the 2022 WRX and 2022 Golf R. Both very good cars. But I’m choosing WRX because less depreciation and better finance rates. So I’d definitely go WRX over GTI.
WRX has the better gearbox and infotainment (even though it's not great - the GTI's is just terrible). Prefer the GTI styling by a mile and though it lacks AWD, the front-end LSD is awesome. Steering feel is comparable. Ride quality is a bit better in the WRX. GTI wins in practicality. I'd probably stomach the GTI's awful infotainment and have one of those
WRX has lesser power compared to the Golf R. So not exactly comparable. Golf R is way more expensive too. GTI and WRX are a fair comparison minus AWD. I have driven both. Get golf if you care about economy that much but it has smaller space. Shifting is short, more "sports-like" whatever that means in GTI. WRX gears more solid and satisfying. GTI has worse visibility too. BTW GTI has digital guages, fog light, adaptive suspension, and lumbar support (manual and very low). I'm getting my WRX since, larger space, liked gear shifts better, AWD.
Well I got the GTI autobahn, I love the car, incredibly comfortable, great handling, no road noise at all (changed tires to achieve the noise and the comfort). Only thing is, I fraking dislike this infotainment, its increibly annoying when you wanna jump from radio to carplay, wait for climate to come up. Other than that GTI can fit 4 people while carrying two 50 lbs big luggage and a carry on on the trunk. Most sedans cannot do this due to the height of rear windshield. I don’t regret GTI but pushing my brother in law to get a WRX so we exchange cars every week lol
My dad has the same screen in his Outback. It always lags like crazy for the first few minutes after starting the car. It gets better after about 10 minutes but still not great by any means
It's the Chipset. @@stickythrottle5259 that’s just my opinion. I’ve owned 4 wrxs and a Sti in my life. I currently own a 2018 Rex. This new one’s styling is the closest yet to a awd econobox commuter. The exterior to me doesn’t stir any good emotions or excitement. The gaps between the panels and the doors are WIDE in person and screams poor build quality. Judging by the video, the exhaust is low and barely noticeable in cabin. The hp bump is a joke after waiting so long for the next gen. And the GT top of the line trim is auto only? I realize people say it drives well but to me…just my opinion….the Rex has morphed into a crosstrek sedan.
