Canadian from Vancouver, British Columbia here. My installer just started working with Redarc products and I'm among the first full install they've done. They've connected my Travel Buddy to a 10 amp circuit. Looks like I'll be getting them to move that over to a 30 amp circuit ASAP.

Great video and so well explained, cheers. Can you tell me what does your solar panels run through (BCDC or BMS)? Also great idea about running 2nd soft key display but do you think using your app via blue tooth would be just as good especially as your camper is right next to your cabin? Tia

Hey, Yep you could totally do one RedVision & then use the app. We had 2 RedVision and used the app when away from vehicle. On our new truck build we are thinking of doing 1 RedVision in the canopy and an ipad screen mounted in the dash or the truck, that way we can just use the app.
Solar ran through the BMS, that way it shows on the RedVision screen under Solar

@@accelerateoffgridtouring Thanks Andrew. Great idea about running through ipad as I dont use it much so mounted in the cab could be great. Cheers again

Sorry, one more question. Which isolator did you use for your power circuit?

Good day, I love your video’s. I saw this video a while ago go and have since added two BCDC’ to my system.
I recently have picked up the Redarc TVMS Prime and want to wire my BCDC’s the way you have!
Can you tell me how you wired the function to turn the charging circuit on and off.
If I need a a battery isolator then I will order it!
Thank you a head of time for any help you can give me!
    Mike

      Hi Mike!
To switch the DCDC charger on and off, we utilised a Heavy-Duty 100ah Relay with the Input to the charger wired through it!
With a switch wire from the TVMS, we can easily trigger it on and off!

Hi Andrew, Is it possible to add a battery monitor other batteries, like the start battery and a behind the seat lithium to keep a track on there status, my manager currently just shows the two lithium i have in the canopy

Hello Steve, Thanks for your comment!
The Redarc Manager usually allows you to see the DC input (STart Battery input voltage)
There is no need to monitor the current in & out of your start battery as this would require quite a large shunt inline.
It is doable if you like but would require a stand alone Battery Monitoring system installed on the Start battery to do so accurately.

    Hey Andrew,
    Can you help us!!!
We have brought a van & it has been fitted with Redarc. We’ve lost all power and everything is locked on the control panel….

Hi Nikki! Thanks for your comment!
In some cases on the Red Vision Screen if you hit the power button twice it will unlock the display.
Alternatively, we would recommend getting onto Redarc technical support as they are amazing to deal with also!

I am currently running the manager 30 with dual monitors, one being the Redvision screen. I will be getting the TVMS Rogue and I would love to add more charging capabilities like you have with the twin BCDC 1250's. I am running a 200 amp welding alternator, so getting the amperage to them isn't a problem. Could you help me with a better explanation of how you wired the twin 1250's.... Thank you

Thanks for your comment, We basically wire them both as per their standard wiring diagram with a switched current rated relay on the input to give us user control when we want the bulk charge. - The key thing with this is to ensure the earths are via the shunt & your batteries will accept the total charge current.

Does it accept solar and alternator charge at the same time

    • @accelerateoffgridtouring
      @accelerateoffgridtouring  Год назад

The Manager30 is designed to charge from multiple sources simultaneously to charge the auxiliary/house battery. If the Solar power input is available the maximum available solar power will be used before topping up the output charging current from another source if available (e.g. mains). Priority is given to Solar then to AC Mains power, then to DC Vehicle power.

Hey guys, awesome setup. Just wondering, do you run the earths of the dcdc's back through the manager 30 shunt aswell, so you can see their what the dcdc's are inputting to the system?
