This PSA from 1973 or earlier warns that it takes only a minute to wipe out a century, as we witness through audio clips how long it takes a tree to grow, and how fast a flash of flame can destroy it.

The TV station I worked for in the 70s let the switcher decide (within reason) what PSAs to run to fill unsold time; Charleston SC got to see this one a lot on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

I Always used to get memorized with this commercials sitting there from the TV from the age of I don't know since I've learned how to walk and talk I'm 50 now very sweet so much memories

@orever the whole point being is that giant 160 yr old tree can easily be destroyed by some careless campfire or cigarettes. Which is truly devastating. LITERALLY! No wonder starting fires like this are serious crimes. As is related, think of all the oxygen that tree gave to us for those 160 yrs.
