James Dean ,could make anything ordinary seem extraordinary, he was and will always be captivating and his scenes seem effortless. And that's what made him a legend!
+Music Rebel Thank you for you comment, about James Dean, he's just one of those people that came into this world and didn't need a whole lot of time to make a real difference, he seems so unreal like a dream .
Almost 60 years later and this is still funny as hell AND could well work in a contemporary sketch :) Love how almost all he is in seems to be timeless.
I never saw this movie before and, I'll have to check it out. I'm reading " James Dean" by George Perry and saw this on page 77. Isn't RUclips Wonderful? We can check out movies, music, cartoons, etc. Thank you for uploading this scene from " Has Anybody Seen My Gal (1952). James Dean was on the cusp of stardom and it's a treat for fans to view it.
This movie's set in the 1920s. Hip dudes dressed like James Dean's character back then. I'm surprised no one's wearing one of those huge raccoons coat in the shot!
he also did a small part in a MARTIN AND LEWIS episode...the boxing scene where dean teaches jerry to box. James Dean plays one of the young guys attending to the boxer in the opposite team
i just read in Liz Seridans book that when her and james went to see this, they left right after this scene because he was so embarrased but he looks perfect to me:)
James Dean Age 20 (age 20 +3/4) at the time of the film release. Playing Doggie in the 1951 film 'Fixed Bayonets'. Release Date 8th December. Filmed in Los Angeles.
Has anyone noticed how different his voice sounds in this movie compared to his 3 credited one where he almost always sounded similar too marlon brando mumbled speech?
@2004dale oh!haha i was just wondering because i read about this scene too except in that particular biography so. anyways. that's cool I guess.... us reading about this stuff. lol i'm so awkward.

That is exactly how I would describe James Dean.

the way he ordered soda back then is how people order coffee now
You are so right, he was ahead of his time. 😀

It’s funny how they always talk about his “Hoosier” accent in biographies and you can REALLY hear it here❤️
I can't stop replaying this!!!!! He looks hilarious in that costume though - kind if the anti-Dean with the bowtie, sweatervest and pink shirt :)
Anti-Dean :D :D :D
Lol, that contrast between this outfit and James Dean's usual looks!

Jack Warner head of the Studio of the same name said after seeing the rough cut of Rebel that Jimmy was "beyond comprehension"
This isn't his first movie, his first movie was "Fixed Bayonets!" in 1951 as Doggie but was uncredited
i just read in Liz Seridans book that when her and james went to see this, they left right after this scene because he was so embarrased but he looks perfect to me:)
