There is a host of delicious food in Ipoh, but their chee cheong fun was something that stood out amongst them.
The previous owner of Singapore Anson Town is from Teluk Intan. She married and moved to Singapore over 20 years ago and later decided to bring this favourite food of her hometown as a family business into Singapore.
The fact, Michelle, the current owner of Singapore Anson Town, is a 3rd generation native of Anson Town. She is also from Ipoh and took over the business a couple of years back from the previous owner who had since retired.
Michelle had never been in the F&B business before, so she spent quite some time contemplating the various factors before making the decision to take over the place. She then spent many hours and put in a lot of effort to reproduce the authentic taste of the various Ipoh style cuisines. During that time, she also had to learn about how to run an F&B business successfully.
🍽 Authentic Ipoh Style Food 🍽
🌟 Chee Cheong Fun - The dish that many flocked to Anson Town for is their chee cheong fun. It comes in a variety of combinations, but any first-time visitor should go for their "Anson Special".
🌟 Curry Noodle - The curry noodles are also one of the favourites among customers. Cooked differently from the usual curry we have in Singapore, the light and yet flavourful curry noodle pack a spicy punch.
🌟 Assam Laksa - Their Assam Laksa is another golden favourite. The recipe they are using now was used by a famous Assam Laksa store owner back in Ipoh. The owner had passed away, and the store assistant wanted to make sure the recipe was passed on and made available for the generation to come.
Since taking over the business, Michelle spent a lot of time and effort, introducing more Malaysian favourites into the menu that we see now. We hope that Michelle and her team in Anson Town will continue doing what they are doing. And to bring in even more authentic Malaysian food recipe into Singapore and share even more joys of the tastes with everyone.
