What that means, is you have to pay people’s debts. The first thing, for economic democracy, is to eliminate debt, which allows money to flow from the individual into the community. Eliminate debt, and you establish the basis of a democracy, which is economic mobility. Inclusive economic democracy, without debt repayment, doesn’t seem feasible to me, because where is your money on the table? That’s why student debt loan relief is so important, because debt is how a person stumbles in the world, and alleviating that, is the first step towards true freedom, and agency in the economy, but more importantly, in one’s own life. Debt is death, your own death and misery in the world alone, suffering under the weight of money. To be together, living for each other, we have to be debt-free.
