This song hits my heart too.. my sister passed away Jan '07, and this is the first song I heard after hearing she passed. This makes me connect even more to Dave's music... (I have twin children like him too :).
This song is so sad and can relate to him ,I haven't seen my twin brothers for a year their 2 now but sometimes i will look up in the sky and see their faces.Dave you made me strong.Thank you.
I was there too.....One an incredible night, haven't seen them in about 4 years, will be sure not to let that much time go by before i see them again..
What a set list!! I saw the 99' tour with Tim at West Point and amazingly enough was able to score front row for the Beacon. ps..I had a client who worked at ticketmaster and the funny thing was I sat 25 row at Wp and didnt realize until I walked in for the Beacon show and the usher looked at the ticket, smiled said "Double AA 5 and 6"?..Good old days.. 45 bucks a ticket..cheers from nyc..Looking forward to some new Dave..
I always wonder how he gets such an amazing tone out of that guitar... yes, its a top of the line Taylor and in raised B tuning... but it has a sound I've never heard come from a guitar before.
Yes. His sister Anne was murdered by her husband, who then turned the gun on himself. This was in 1994. He also has a little sister named Jane. He commemorates her in "The Song that Jane Likes."
Dave is almost always high or a lil at every concert, ive been at concerts and im sure many of you have been where he even tells everyone to give them a few cuz they are gonan go burn one.
This particular song is in reference to his sister Jane, though. He tells the story on the Radio City Music Hall DVD about how he called up his sister Jane, and she talked him out of a writers-block. And thus, wrote the song about Jane. He did have a sister Anne, this song is not about her, though.
That´s most deep song they played that day when impossible thing with Leroi was sent them and they said it loudly to whole the world They are so strooong
Ya gotta LoVE those West Point young men ... at least THEY know how to keep quiet whilst a gentle, moving & intense performer is doin' hiz thang!!! Hip, hip, hooooraaayy!!! XoxOxoX
lol why do you say that, if its the way he talks at the beginning...he is always like that he says its because he has always gotten nervous in front of a crowd
It's about Jane, NOT Anne. He called Jane on the phone and told her that he had a bit of writer's block. She told him to get his head out of his ass. Then he wrote this song.

My brother plays this song on the guitar for me. He is going to play it at my wedding.

exactly. dave tells that story on the radio city dvd
@therealmaccattack Its a Taylor 714 tuned to raised B. He always used his 714 cedar top guitar for fingerstyle stuff as well as raised B tuning.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
I am loving the sweat all over his guitar
i was there! i agree it was so amazing!

yes you should life is short..Merry Christmas...
i was there too! it was so amazing!
This is not about his sister that was killed, it's about the one still alive.
Carter really compliments the songs when he comes in with "down my face". But I think he should also sing "keep me please". Just my opinion.
That´s most deep song they played that day when impossible thing with Leroi was sent them and they said it loudly to whole the world
