I wanted to let you know that I really like and appreciate your videos. You speak very clearly and explain what needs to be done well and the picture is clear too, not fuzzy at all like some others I’ve seen. Thank you for taking the time to help us newbies out. I turn 65 tomorrow and I am working on my second piece so I’m very new to knitting.
Thank you very much for your comment, Trish. Knitting is wonderful and I believe it's therapeutic. I find it very calming. It also it helps with our brain connections. It creates new pathways in the brain. At our age, this is important. it's like dancing! Happy Birthday !!!
Thank you so much for all you do! I was a life long crocheter, and could never get the hang of knitting until I started to watch your videos about two years ago. I eventually switched to using the continental method because it's so much easier as a former crocheter, but I have learned SO much from you. I've made several of these cowls as Christmas gifts, and have even progressed to doing lace stitches, and have made some shawls and scarves. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your selfless sharing, and your warm personality. Coupled with excellent knitting knowledge, you are the BEST!
I love the idea of making a cowl and matching hat with this pattern. I have taken up knitting again and am amazed at how many great patterns and "how to" videos are available. Your instructions are very clear and the demos are nice and slow for a beginner to watch. Thank you for this!
Hi Joanne I love knitting and I found your channel you are a good teacher. I always knitting with Straight needles but I found the circulars more better thank you for sharing no stitches for me.
Ms. Joanne, can you please explain how to start this cowl in the round. I love the stitch and this would be my first time knitting in the round. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much. 😀 My daughter loves hiking in the pine forests. I know it only has one side to it. I wanted something Lacey . I will probably use this with a seed stitch border. Unless you have any other advice of course. I have a beautiful 8 ply double spun merino. 😊 Thankyou again. 🌷
My Mum taught me when I was a little girl. Now I have grandchildren & one on the way so I love to knit for them & only them. 🌷 hoping you can help me as I'd love to make a baby blanket in the pine forest stitch. My daughter will be having a boy 😍 in October.
lovely video. Just a question. In row three you purled 1 and knitted 3, but the first knit is pulled over the other 2. Doesn't that reduce the number of stitches you are knitting? Are the lost stitches picked up on another row? Sorry if this seems like a silly question, but I am fairly new at this. These are great videos. Also another quick question. If I wanted this to be an infinity scarf would 320 or 400 stitches be a good number?
If I use a circular needle, but do not want to connect for a cowl and keep just as a scarf: Would I need to use a 4+l stitch count and/or make changes to the entire pattern because I would be knitting on both sides?
It depends on the size you want, the yarn and needles you use and the way you knit. Please make a swatch and do your gauge. ruclips.net/video/F8aCXjklAA0/видео.html ruclips.net/video/Gc2cLO32MmI/видео.html
Joanne I love this pattern. I have a question. . What circular needles are you using and size is short 16 inches? I have the interchangeable however I have to stop frequently to make sure the needle is not unscrewing. How do you keep your ends from curling up?
Short, #7 knitting needles. For ends not tu curl, make about 4 rows of garter or seed stitch. If it's on the sides, make about 3 or 4 stitches on each side.
Thank you, is a very nice stitch ! what brand of needles were you using in this project.. Thanks in advance for the attention you may give to my question. have a great day.
Love this easy cowl!. Need easy learning to use circular needles! How long are you needle cords on these 7 needles! Thanks so much ! I watch tons of your videos! Very fun and helpful! Marlene Willoughby!
Hi. I have only just found your channel and love it already. Im looking to do your beautiful cowl scarf but I'm unsure how many balls of wool or type of DK I should order. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.......Karen x

You are making up for the lost stitches on row 4, when you do all the yarn overs. And yes, 320 and 400 are multiples of 4,

For a flat pattern you k1 and purl 3. That is, you knit the knits and purl the purls.
Can you knit a baby blankets and how many stitch thank you
