RIP TREVOR. Darkness is real, it can surround you and absorb you if you let it. We lost him to it, but his memory will live forever in his lyrics, his fans, his family, his friends, any life that he made better and joyful through his self and his art. THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER FOREVER
Amen, I remember finding this band when I was in high-school too many yrs ago I was blown away I had never heard anything so dark and brutal the vocals were almost unsettling I fell in love immediately and I'm glad I got to see them once I wisji had gotten to see them on the warped tour
One of my favorite albums by TBDM, it's dark, malevolent, melodic and brutal in every single angle, can't wait to hear their new album "Everblack" coming out in June, hopefully they brought back some elements from this album \M/
Malcefium Mike dude i feel ya. still love these dudes of course. deflorate and ritual had some gnarly ass tunes and im sure the 2/3 new albums do as well, but man for me this was the pinnacle lol. front to back production wise, writing: lyrically/arrangements. i preordered the album back in 07/08? got an autographed separate cd booklet, the nocturnal hoody (black/gold) amd some other cool shit. i actually have "what a horrible night to have a curse..." tattooed on my back in the same font as the CD/lyric book. i know theyre still kicking ass, but i too feel the same buddy. its kinda unfair i guess to not give all the newer releases their fair shot's, but ima picky musician. oh well lol
Not really though, Unhallowed had similar ATG vibes (I guess) but every subsequent Dahlia album has really been their own thing. They didnt take the ATG thing to a new level lol They took their own thing to their own level...
Crawling the walls, through every crack and crevice teems blackness washing over the windowpanes, painting the buildings in between. Creeping down the alley ways consuming every street, soundless swarm of nothingness sure to doom us all. Pulling screaming earthlings into its toothless jaws, endlessly begging, spreading with no sign of stop. Horror of horrors truely maddening in size, running just prolongs the end inevitably, it strives. Where has it come from? How can it be stopped? So quickly we're to meet our end, our empire we have lost. Karmatic armegeddon, no religion could foresee a planet once forsaken, not even a memory. Streetlights bend into the void, cars enveloped into the darkness, deeper than a blind man's sleep, soon to paint the world. Insatiable in hunger, it drinks the sea without a belch, stretching to the other side where it is sure to meet itself. Unearthly vacuum devouring, the hourglass now empty, it's time to say goodbye. Watching your life flash before mortal eyes, terror fills your heart, screams of anguish greet your ears. Living death, voracious, insidious, impervious to damage. We are slaughtered as if lambs. Horror of horrors truely maddening in size, running just prolongs the end inevitably, it strives. Where has it come from? How can it be stopped? So quickly we're to meet our end, our empire we have lost. Karmatic armegeddon, no religion could foresee a planet once forsaken, not even a memory
I love BDM because their songs are little mini horror movies "Pulling screaming Earthlings into its toothless jaws, Endlessly beginning, spreading, with no sign of stop Trevor was an absolutely incredible lyricist
Definitely not. It's a very different direction for BDM, but they've been constantly evolving, especially since Ryan Knight joined. Ritual was a masterpiece, and Everblack isn't that far behind.
the only people who don't like the new album are metalcore idiots who like this band for no other reason than their main inspiration is the gothenburg melodic riffing style. Black dahlia is amazing, the new album shows some of their BEST songwriting yet.
i've been hating on this band because of it's deathcore audience and trevor's highs, but this band isn't as bad as I used to think. they're a lot like Revocation, my fav band of all time, and the vocals are growing on me. his lows are grimy and brutal as fuck.
This band is not deathcore in the slightest. This is melodic death metal and sometimes blackened death metal. There isn't a single deathcore band I can think of that can play their instruments this well. Deathcore has a much more simplified songwriting formula and lyrics that are more blunt and honestly not nearly as intelligently written. Deathcore is for the kids. Black Dahlia is HIGH ART
@@brandonharris9160 I didn't say this band was deathcore, I said it's audience was. It does sound somewhat deathcorey though in the riffs and keys they play in but they utilize those elements in a unique and creative fashion as opposed to a band like Signs Of The Swarm or some shit.

It's a harmonic minor scale I think

what sucks about it?
Try G# all riffs sound better...
The guitar solo kinda ruins the song and there’s no breakdown but the vocals sound pretty brutal
Umm what?!
Breakdowns don't work in every gender
Can you not?
"Breakdown"
Lmao.
With any song ever I never felt like a solo ruined a song, solos are debatably the best part of all music.
well,the new album sucks hard..
im curious if you still hold the opinion
