- I actually liked this a lot more then I anticipated. The music video and the song were both masterpieces. Rip to the legend Meat Loaf.

"Objects in the rearview mirror may appear closer than thay are" is my absolute favorite Meat Loaf song. There's actually an official video. Chills guaranteed. 🙏
That feels like one of the rawest of his songs emotionally for me. Love it.
That one rings truer for me every single year that passes.
mine too
"Objects in the Rearview Mirror" is definitely my favorite Meat Loaf song also - and yes it hits harder the older you get. Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman were an incredible combination. I figured out last night that they passed away only 9 months from each other. The music world is a little bit colder without them.
I love that song and that video.
I love that you did this for your dad. Hats off to you.
Dads are the best. RIP big guy.
Cliff you are the greatest. WATCHING your reactions was a pleasure. Check out By The Dashboard Light. MEAT LOAF will be missed.
"Will you hose me down with holy water if I get to hot", one of the greatest lines ever. RIP Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman. A perfect combination.
Beautiful line but I would put "Maybe I'm lonely. That's all I'm qualified to be." against it.
I loved that Jack Black got him to play his dad in their Pick of Destiny movie. RIP to a legend.
I actually thought they were related when I was younger
@@someoneawesome8717 LOL I'm still a little bit suspicious that the kid in the beginning of the movie was a Jack Black clone created in a lab or something. That kid captured Jack Black's mannerisms and facial expressions and everything just...too PERFECTLY. 🤣
Right? And in the movie Meat Loaf's character was all "anti-rock 'n roll".....great irony.
They did a song together called Like a Rose
It’s so weird that a song I grew up on is perceived in a totally different way because of Disney. But honestly kudos to them for reviving such a beautiful song for another generation.
My daughter is seven she calls us a beauty and the beast music video
Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad.... Bat Out Of Hell.. So many of his are amazing!
I was gonna say both. 1st cassette I ever brought was bat out of hell
Bat out of hell is one of the few albums that I love every single song. His best song ever is "For crying out loud." No one ever seems to mention this song. But it was both Meat Loaf's and Jim Steinman's favorite out of all the songs they did together. They were both musical geniuses that left us far too soon. R.I.P. to both. And Cliff you have such a beautiful soul. I love all of your reactions. I pray a special blessing comes your way. You've helped me through the worst 8 months of my life. Thank you.
For Crying Out Loud and Heaven Can Wait are my favorites!!
That is also my favorite song ever!!!!
For crying out loud💜💜💜
I’m so glad someone else also loves that song!!!
I thought I was they only one😔
So thank you for your comment🥰🥰🥰
For Crying Out Loud is one of the best songs made in music history.
Actually, this version is heavily cut for the music video.
The full album version is over 12 minutes long and even better!
I'm a huge Meatloaf fan but there's no 12 minute long song that is great! Lol. Even Meatloaf. 🤷🏻♀️
ive been waiting to see someone else say that not many know the full version or reference it and just know the radio edit or the music video edit ♥♥
Musical art combined with theater in its Best Form!!!
Cliff my man. Never apologise about stopping to appreciate the lyrics. That's what all real artist want their fans to hear. Their stories
The motor bike sounds at the start of this was all with a guitar, truly amazing
meatloaf is easily one of my favorite artists of all time. But even if you don't react to it, everything written by Jim Steinmann is worth enjoying. he did total eclipse of the heart and so many songs that you've heard and never attributed to him.
A massively underrated meatloaf song is Not A Dry Eye in The House.
He made Rock Opera his own.
I am glad you stepped out of your hip hop box and gave Meat Loaf a listen. We like what we like, so I understand! It is always nice to see people experience something new. But I suspect your father was impacted by Meat Loaf for much more than the "monster." You have to give BAT OUT OF HELL, PARADISE BY THE DASHBOARD LIGHT, and HEAVEN CAN WAIT a listen.
I love Meatloaf and you’re the first reaction vid to get the correlation with this video and Bram Stokers Dracula (another one of my faves). Kudos !
His star spangled banner is up there with me on Whitney level. Just an amazing voice.
🧨🧨🧨🧨🧨
🔥🔥🔥🔥
I’m not American and his rendition had me moved to tears
I did not know this was a thing. I have to find it now!
Meatloaf was so ahead of his time. He combined rock and Theatre to perfection thus paving the way for bands like Nightwish to create Symphonic Rock/Metal. May he Rest Calm and in Peace
For crying out loud is an amazing meatloaf song you're going to love
Oh My Gosh! I love that your generation is hearing Meatloaf now. I love that your dad is an 80’s rocker like me! Please do the song that put Meatloaf on the map…Paradise by the Dashboard Light. Thanks!
I'm glad you did this for your father! Some musical nerdiness for you: Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman (the writer) created a genre of music called Wagnerian Rock because the structure is like classic Wagner (Most Wagner pieces begin huge, jumping right into the good stuff, then it backs off a bit before hitting you again. It's very dramatic and very over the top in terms of composition and style; yes I'm simplifying or this would be a music history text). Arguably, Wagner's most famous composition is "Ride of the Valkyries" if that helps. If not, check it out, it's immortal.
YES! Wagner was one of The Greats! He was up there with Beethoven, etc. :)
Wagner's most famous work is the 4 operas of Der Ring Des Nibelungen, which includes The Ride of the Valkyries
Some of my favorites that also have great music videos are Paradise by the Dashboard Lights, Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad, and You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth.
I was going to say his other well-known song is probably Paradise by the dashboard lights, I joke if you're of a certain age and have not had relations to one of meatloaf songs I'm not sure what's wrong with you 😂
Love this song so much 🖤 I grew up listening to Meatloaf. RIP to an absolute LEGEND 🖤
Please do Bat Out of Hell!!
Sorry, wrong song been a day try Gettingawayy with a murder, great and very underrated.
@@martiwest2594 What?
This is one of his most famous songs. It's in so many commercials. I remember it being in several Dr. Pepper ads back years ago.
Have you ever watched Rocky Horror Picture Show? He was in that movie singing "Hot Patootie"
In case you didn't Google it this was released in 1993, buy he was already big in the 70s so most definitely could've influenced your dad. I know he must appreciate you doing this for him
This song still gives me goosebumps 30 years after I first heard it and watching someone else experience this song and Meatloaf for time is awesome. Listen to the full 12min album version, it’s another level again
This Song/Video is a Masterpiece!! I'm feeling the loss of Meatloaf. 🙏
It's been a week since his passing and I'm still hurting.
😢
Cliff, I saw Meatloaf in concert and it was the best night I ever had. Thank you for listening to your dad and reacting to this wonderful legend.
“Two out of 3 ain’t bad” is a must for Meat Loaf
Please do "Is Nothing Sacred Anymore". Beautiful song.....stunning vocals!! I loved Meat Loaf!!! 😭😭
In the philippines, when this song is sang during battle of the the bands… for sure its a win! RIP… 90’s band rocks!
Legends never dies. Real music .
Gives me goosebumps every time! MeatLoaf is a legend!
I love that you are into lyrics, I am too! Jim Steinman wrote most of Meat Loaf's songs. He also wrote for Celine Dion, Air Supply, Barry Manilow, Bonnie Tyler. And his lyrics are amazing! That being said Meat's voice was perfect for Steinman and he got what Steinman was trying to do!
The holy water line just ...works.
This is a classic! Plus, the video, fusing "The Beauty and The Beast" and "The Phantom of The Opera"... man!
And Dracula...
Gothic high fantasy is what comes to mind.
...And some kind of alien thing...Magic...just absolutely astounding, what the production was able to do for just a music video back then! It tells and ENTIRE story, they could totally pick this apart and create an entire full-length movie based on this video and song. Amazing.
@@jamescurfman3284 Question is...would they?
@@Gangrel442003 Well, obviously not since this MV is from 1993. But somebody SHOULD. 'We have the technology.' lol
Your dad sounds like the BEST. Just found your channel tonight (through Meatloaf and Johnny Cash). I don't listen to hip-hop, which is exactly why I've subscribed to you: your opinions on other genres come across as much more genuine. Would love you to do ABBA :-P
I will do all content and artist. Send some songs over 😊
He has so many great hits Paradise by the dashboard light , two out of three ain’t bad, heaven can’t wait , bat out of hell , and so many more
R.I.P. MeatLoaf ...Great reaction vid. Thank you
I grown up with Meat Loaf in my ears ... so powertull voice... a great loss for music and Rock'n Roll
One of my favorites from Meatloaf was For Crying Out Loud. His music means very much to me, as it was a favorite of myself and the love of my life, which I lost last year from Covid complications. RIP Meat, you were a true legend!!
Oh, wow! My condolences!
That is my favorite Meatloaf songs and it isn't talked about very much because it wasn't played on the radio.
This is Meat’s second best love song.
“For Crying Out Loud” is numero uno. Something of a masterpiece. ✌️
Nice channel. Subbed.
Meat Loaf is an absolute legend. I was a teen in the '70s and after all of the great artists who have passed away in recent years, his is hitting me the hardest.
I just came across your channel tonight, I watch so many reaction videos that I don't understand why it took so long. Consider me subscribed.
This song has been my absolute favorite song ever since it came out and always loved the video with the whole beauty and the beast story of it. #RIP Meatloaf.
Objects in the Rearview Mirror and It's All Coming Back to Me Now are two of my favorites. Thanks for the Meat Loaf tributes. He was a truely great performer and very underrated by the industry.
So far as I remember, and I was there to hear him sing this. He said he will not ever say what it was that he would not do. He will be missed by soooo many of us ol'folk. ❤
Meat Loaf is bigger in Europe than Micheal Jackson is in the US. And has the 9th best selling album of all time world wide. (Bat Out of Hell)
I love this song "I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)" Meat Loaf looks and sounds so fragile his performance touches the soul, he's one of a kind, one in a million, master of rock opera.
He left us too soon but he leaves an invaluable legacy in music... Rest in peace dear Meat Loaf.
I'm a NYC hip hop head but when this video first came out I recorded it right along with my B.I.G. and Busta Rhymes videos on my VCR. This song was well produced and engineered in the studio
Rest in Peace, Meatloaf, you were an amazing original rock storyteller.
Gotta listen to the full album version of this song. The radio/video edit cuts so much out. It's 12 minutes of pure operatic rock genius and worth every second. Longer instrumental breaks, a couple verses that are shortened in this, and 2 more verses from Lorraine Crosby. Everyone deserves to hear this song in its full glory.
Just found your channel tonight. Love that you did Meatloaf for your pops because Meatloaf is f*cking brilliant! 👏🏼 My pops got me into Elvis and Janis Joplin and even Cher! Lol. Thanks, Cliff 😊
No, thank you for the kind words and for watching with me! Means a lot! I’m still a newish channel and learning! Plenty more to come and I’m always here if you need me 😊
Love the vicarious nature of watching someone enjoy Meatloaf for the first time. Thank you - Check out "You took the words right out of my right out of mouth (Hot summer Night)"
Incase anyone including @Cliff Beats didn't know the woman in the video can't sing and so they used a singer from the UK who sung the woman's verse
His version of the Star Spangled Banner is iconic. He is classically trained but loved the rock genre so much he basically brings epic opera to rock like no other. If you haven’t seen The Rocky Horror Picture show, Meatloaf plays Eddie and just SLAYS the role. If you don’t want to watch the whole film, check out Hot Patootie Bless My Soul which he sings in the movie.
My fiance and I do, "Paradise by the Dashboard Light," at karaoke. He has too many bangers!
Lol, that's our go to for Karaoke too
The Doors, Meat Loaf, and to a certain extent Queen and KISS are what I consider theatrical rock. Meat Loaf called it "dramatic rock".
Jim Steinman who was on the piano/keyboards, wrote all of the music for Meat Loaf. Steinman and Meat Loaf, for all their issues with each other over the years, are the other half of each other. When Jim Steinman died at the beginning of Covid lockdown in 2020, it broke Meat Loaf's heart that he couldn't be with Jim in the hospital. And then, Meat Loaf died of other health issues that were complicated by covid.
Meat Loaf was from Dallas, Texas and credits sports for straightening out his path in life. After his mom died of cancer, his dad (who was always abusive) came at him with a knife and tried to kill him so he left home. He made his way to California and was doing musical productions and theater productions before he got his got his first credited role in the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Working in theater productions is where he met Jim Steinman.
"“Since I met Jim, he has been the centerpiece to my life,, and I was always the centerpiece of his. Jim couldn’t do anything or go anywhere that I wasn’t with him or I wasn’t there. Anything he did, they talked about me. Anything I did, they talked about Jim. And I didn’t care. I wanted that.” - Meat Loaf
Dude. You CANNOT stop there. 'Paradise by the Dashboard Light' (a version where you can see his performance), and 'Bat out of Hell,' please. I friggin' loved how good you were at paying attention to the lyrics. It is amazing how various talented people all pick up on different aspects of his music. There is so much to dissect. I have never watched your channel until this video, and there is a huge boom on Meat Loaf reactions now, so if not me, do it for the views. Pleeeeeeaaaase?!? Also, your dad rocks, in more ways than one.
Great reaction, kudos to your dad for suggesting Meatloaf in memory of him. If you want to check ✔️ out another great Meatloaf song, Paradise by the dashboard lights, is awesome and tells another great story (entertaining and funny). I'm sure your dad has heard of it.
This was the song that introduced me to Meat Loaf in 1993 - and I think these days that it was Jim Steinman's magnum opus and the best song Meat's done.
Much in the same vein is "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" - of which I think Céline Dion did it best, although Meat did record a version himself.
1993. I think it was a couple of years after Bram Stoker’s Dracula and the Beauty and the Beast Disney movie. As far as the video and the song, I can’t emphasize how big of a comeback this was for Meat Loaf. He had an epic first album in 1977 but then just went away for15 years. Just as out of popularity as can be until this came out and then it exploded and went number one in like 30 countries. I’d love to know what went on behind the scenes at the record company b/c somebody had the foresight to put some money behind this and take a chance on a down and out artist that deserved some recognition.
God bless Meatloaf such an amazing legend.
I'm so glad you did a reaction to this song. Meatloaf has been a huge part of my life from high school to today. It's been the soundtrack to a large part of my life. I'm convinced that you can find a Meatloaf song for any emotion. He made me feel that I wasn't alone in my feelings and in a way gave me permission to feel the emotions instead if stuffing them down. I'm heartbroken he's gone, but watching some of the reactions on his songs has been a bit like therapy for me. Thank you for this. Also, I'd recommend the following Meatloaf songs:
Objects In The Rearview Mirror
Read 'em and Weep
The Razor's Edge
The Monster's Loose
Blind As A Bat
Seize the Night
You Took the Words Right Out of My
Mouth
Cry Over Me
Rock And Roll Dreams Come
Through
Paradise By The Dashboard Light
The Future Just Ain't What It Used To Be
I'm Gonna Love Her For Both of Us
Bat Out of Hell
All of those are good ones. Those are just a few that I would recommend to start with.
The Razor s Edge é um clássico a parte. .. que música, cara.....eternamente Meat Loaf.
This video was directed by Michael Bay and was a huge production.
Thanks for looking out. Especially for us old timers who grew up with Meatloaf on the radio. And...why havent you heard of him...you have now. Sorry Hip Hop Boi. Tip. Of. The. Iceberg. See you on the otherside. 🤜💢🤛
Paradise by the Dashboard Light, Bat Out of Hell, Out of the Frying Pan, Dead Ringer for Love, I Want My Money Back, Wasted Youth, Seize the Night, Two Out of Three Ain't Bad, Total Eclipse of the Heart, Holding Out for a Hero, Original Sin, It's All Coming Back to Me Now, Making Love Out of Nothing At All, The Future Just Ain't What It Used to Be, You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth
All Meat Loaf’s songs are master pieces 🤩 you might remember it from an advert for m and m’s 😍🏴
I’ve heard this song back in the 90’s when I was in college. I can’t believe I just saw the video now…it is phenomenal. It looks like her love for him broke the curse off and he turned back to normal. Great love story song. Rest In Peace Meatloaf.
Beauty and beast theme. If you're into lyrics you might like the longer version with "lyrics only" that includes a middle verse not included in this video. Not sure why the middle verse wasn't included in the video other than it is a long and they didn't want to make video longer.. but song is great.
This is by far the best display of how a average mans love for a woman never get shared because it gets seen as a weakness by todays women and is emotionally devastating if reveled because you are seen as disposable and replaceable. Meatloaf was the best damn performer I have ever seen ! Beast
RIP Meat!!! Now you're in Paradise By The Heavens Light!!!
I saw Meat Loaf in the 70's he was awesome. RIP
For Crying Out Loud is a beautiful Meat Loaf song! 🙏❤️
so many songs of his are worth listening to. The magic is in the lyrics. please take a listen to "Bat Out of Hell" and / or "You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth". Jim Steinman wrote most of the Songs Meatloaf performed. It sounds like Steinman's motto was everything louder than everything else. There is over the top and then there is Jim Steinman. Both of them will be missed.
Yeah it is crazy how many times I have said, "this song is a banger," and it ends up being a steinman song. Legitimately the only celine dion song I like is written by him.
Jim Steinman’s writing and Meatloaf’s voice and stage presence were a match made in heaven.
@@impossiblyindecisive Wait, which song? I love Steinman's stuff but I had no idea he wrote for Celine. That's COOL!
@@impossiblyindecisive Wait, let me guess...'It's All Coming Back To Me Now'? That would seem like his style... :)
@@jamescurfman3284 yeah it is! Great guess
As soon as you said you are a lyrics guy a guy that likes words I knew you would like Meatloaf. The lyrics in his song's are unique. You should check out Paradise by the dashboard lights.
I’m definitely going to check that song out. Loved this song
@@CliffBeatsOfficial Cheers mate 👍
You gotta listen to the full 12 minute version to really appreciate this song and his talent
Also the song was released in 1993
Objects In The Rearveiw Mirror (May Appear Closer Than They Are) is one of his best, with a great video! Very emotionally!
You took the words right out of my mouth..two out of three aint bad..paradise by the dashboard lights are all incredible❤I subscribed.Much love from Canada❤🇨🇦
Masterpiece doesnt even feel like it covers it. This was the 1st song my 1st love (R.I.P.) ever played for me on his uncles piano.
Been a Meatloaf-er ever since
This song came out in 1993.
If you want to do more Meatloaf, try...
Bat out of Hell
Paradise by the Dashboard Light
Two out of Three Ain't Bad
RIP Meatloaf
This song makes me cry every time.
i discovered Meatloaf when I was 6 years old. Found his Bat Out Of Hell Album in an old cd rack my parents had and was just amazed by the cover art, and decided to have a listen. i spent weeks just replaying that album at home or listening to it on my portable walkman when going to school. got a few more albums around my 8th birthday and have never turned back. R.I.P to an absolute legend
I mourn with your Dad. The Loaf was the shit. Try "Its all coming back to me now" Same director as this video. All of Meat's songs are great. Tell your Dad an old man said hello.
RIP TO THE LEGEND MEATLOAF WILL BE GREATLY MISSED!😭
Thank you for not making the normal complaint of "What is the that he won't do?" As a lyrics person, certainly you realized the last line of each verse are things he won't do, plus the conversation at the end.
I’m sure u def heard this song before riding around in the car with ur parents as a kid. Brings back those memories for me for sure
He had a hell of a voice and dude was funny as hell saw him at a concert sometime in the early 00's and sound equipment failure and he did like a stand up routine was great.
"Paradise By the Dashboard Light" (You have to react to the "Live" Video) "Two Out of Three Aint Bad" "Bat Out of Hell" "Heaven Can Wait" All fantastic songs by Meat Loaf. Written by the late great Jim Steinman, Meat Loaf's Bat Out of Hell Album has sold 43 million copies and is certified 14x Platinum.
Are you talking about Quick Change the metal-thrash Band??? "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights", Two out of Three ain't Bad", "Bat out of Hell", "Objects in the rearview mirror may appear closer than they are" is really emotional. Just so many and they all feel like watching a movie!
Yes. Circus of Death. My dad was the lead singer.
In the video he mixed in a bit of vampire and Beauty and the Beast. The woman is NOT the female singer, that was sung by Mrs Loud (Patti Russo) a long-time collaborator.
Meatloaf considered himself an actor who could sing. He and Jim Steinman (writer of several of Meatloaf's best known songs) did a number of great songs together.
Great reaction. I agree paradise by the dashboard light
Masterpiece.
RIP legend. 🦇
Objects in the rear view mirror...excellent song.
RIP Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman - I bet you two are making new music right now, and your contribution to music will live on here on this side.
I so understand why you laughed, if you look at more of Meat Loafs music videos it is like a mini movie, so are the lyrics too.
If you liked the line "Would you hose me down with holy water if I get to hot" you might also like some of the lyrics in Alice Cooper - Poison ☠️👍
Loved this song and video..a masterpiece. RIP MEATLOAF..#hog
Meatloaf was the voice to the soundtrack to my teenage years. Rock Opera voice with the lyrics of Jim Steinmen. Hot Summer nights, Paradise, Two out of Three... anything by him. RIP Meatloaf - but the music will live forever 🖤
Bat out of hell, two out of three ain't bad, paradise by the dashboard light, objects in the rear view mirror, and life is a lemon are among my personal favorites.
He was incredible! I remember the days skating at our local Skate-land to this song, and just hoping a boy would ask me to hold his hand skating 🤣 so many memories ❤️ I always thought of beauty and the beast as well!
Is this "Brahm Stocker's Dracula?" Exact same thing I thought when I saw this video for the first time decades ago. 😊
He always did these amazing like mini-movie music videos. This one I always thought was like a beauty and the beast theme but I think your right cliffbeats. I thinks it’s Dracula
