- Mobile Phones on sale today are so powerful, they can be used to replace a common PC or laptop. Now that Microsoft have discontinued Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge from working with Office 365 services such as Team meetings, people short of devices need an alternative. If you have a mobile phone released since 2017, chances are it can be plugged into a TV or monitor, you just need a Display Adapter.
I take you through identifiying what you have, what you need and how to make it all work.

Thank you. Your video answered my initial question. You have a great presentation style; easy for those, like myself, who are not tech savvy. One more question, though. If I use Word on my Cell Phone to write manuscripts, can I work from a thumb drive? And, (this may reveal the depth of my ignorance) how can this small phone handle the same processes as my huge laptop? I am imagining my phone 'melting' if I try to edit my 399 page manuscript using Word on my phone. Can I overheat my phone?

Btw phones before 2017 could do this too. early phones used MHL to HDMI Output there was MHL 1.0,2.0 & 3.0 using a special MHL Adapter either a 5 pin micro USB for most phones then Samsung came out with a 11 pin MHL adapter for phones Like the S3 and later. Most LG devices used Slimport to HDMI which is based on DisplayPort Technology. Lastly phones that don't support any of these including USB C 3.1 to HDMI using Display port tech can use DisplayLink tech but it needs a special hub type box and you also need to install the DisplayLink app/software to make it work. There is also another similar method than involves a special cord and installing a app to make this work too.

There are USB-C to HDMI cables that most mobile devices support nowadays. The adaptor is handy for the additional USB port for additional devices.

Hello... My Samsung galaxy C7 pro display is dead. I cannot see anything also the touch doesn't works. It is also pin locked. Can I connect this phone too as you did? I saw somewhere that in samsung mobile we need to agree to the pop up in mobile screen after that only screen would be shared on monitor. Please reply I need to back up my data from it.
Providing you have not disabled the screen settings, yes. If you have, the only way to reenable them that I know of (for security purposes) is via the mobile screen.

Nice video...one question though, I just got the exact same adapter but when I plug in my Google pixel 4xl or Samsung Galaxy tab I get no display..and this is the second adapter I got ..
Nothing shows on my Hisense tv or my Dell monitor...my monitor does as if something is detected but nothing shows ..

i tried this with my tv but i can only see the picture but no sound from my tv only my phone is that normal?
Check the HDMI cable you are using. Some do not support audio from mobile. Not sure how old that cable is. The other thing to check is the audio output your mobile. Check the output is going through the cable and not the device or via Bluetooth etc.
