Thanks again to CupcakeGaming882 for introducing me to this wonderful show. Happy Halloween, everybody. Retractions and Revisions: 1) I completely mispronounced Vi's name throughout the entirety of this video. In my defense (this is an explanation, not an excuse for a lack of due dillgence), his name is said only once in Episode 1, and for most of my research I was consulting the episode transcripts, but it's still a very unfortunate oversight on my part, and I apologize profusely. Here, I pronounce it like /vī/ (or "vai"), but it should be said /vē/ (or "vee"). 2) As pointed out by finsanity in the comments section below, Bit is actually seen in the kitchen at the time the body is discovered. I double-checked the footage and discovered his head hiding behind a convenient head-shaped ham hock, which was very funny- again, another terrible oversight on my part, and further evidence of poor research quality. I assumed based off of Bit's interrogation with Borm and Rek in Episode 2 that they were the one who discovered Mysty on the dais and thus the one who screamed, since that was the direction the dialogue seemed to be pointing me towards. However, given the visual confirmation of their presence in the kitchen, I have to trust my eyes and assume this assumption was unfounded. Borm likely asked Bit those questions as if she found the body because she was the first of the servants to find it, and none of the Hemlockes were ever formally interrogated. This detail, ultimately, doesn't change or even disprove the core contentions of my theory about the series, but it does add an additional layer of complication to the discovery of the body by posing a rather inconvenient question- who discovered it in the first place? Given their proximity to the scene of the crime, it would likely be one of the Hemlockes in the study next door who discovered the body as they enter the foyer to head back upstairs and retire to their respective quarters. I don't think either or even both of the screams come from Mysticat, since again, due to the exposed state of the foyer, the murderer (someone she likely knew and likely trusted) would have tried to incapacitate her with their first blow, preventing her from crying out to avoid getting caught. I assume it was probably Izzy, Muu, or both Izzy and Muu who screamed since Vi is throwing up, Zombie is too stoic to scream, and we hear Pyro and Zam yelling later (their voices don't track well with the sounds we hear from the foyer). If I do return to Whitepine, I'll discuss the broader implications of this new development at length, but for now, this comment will have to suffice. 3) At 13:37, I inadvertently co-opted the imagery of Ivory's ultimate "prison escape" finale to draw parallels to the poetic selection purely via implicature. This was not meant to be a theory providing any linkage whatsoever between Ivory's past and present work (a subject that seemed unripe for theorization anyways). Rather, it was merely meant as a rumination on the journey her art has taken to reach this point and its thematic relevance towards the broader project of Whitepine. Even if I had no idea that this was a violation of the artist's boundaries at the time, however, (ref: ruclips.net/video/SlaK9Ijoa30/видео.htmlsi=BWFyIBkKi51WBJts), the effect of this segment is still just that- a violation. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, or so they say, and those excuse nothing. Even before I was made aware, I had hoped to be both deliberate and discerning in my "use" of this subject matter rather than just mere "mention," but the onus was on me to do better research and be better informed in the first place. I have since been educated as to the error of my ways, and wanted to issue this edit to the pinned comment to serve as my retraction for the material seen at the above time stamp I've flagged for your reference. Consider this my formal apology- I'm very sincerely sorry for this grievous oversight, and I'll endeavor to do and be better going forward.
@@Alice1apple THANK YOU!!! I wanted to use that soundbite to accompany the title card for each chapter in this video, but it didn't feel right tonally in the edit
Yeah I wasn't crazy about that phrasing since it inadvertently implies that Ivory is a catgirl but ultimately I thought it was stupid and silly enough to make the final cut
you know that one quote that's like "there's a fine line between genius and insanity"? yes I think that might be you. i cannot stress how much i LOVE the enigmatic, blanc-esque, conspiracy theory but not quite vibes in this clearly meticulously crafted work of art. the spiraling story telling, the dug up details, the RECREATED MANOR??? consider writing a book, your prose is beautiful, I will def be awaiting any future videos regarding whitepine or frostbyte lore or anything. gosh I actually have to take a breather after being so thoroughly enveloped in another world. a thousand kudos
I have definitely considered writing a book, haha. Thank you so much for all the kind words- that's definitely high praise! Glad you sincerely enjoyed this video's very silly and sometimes very self-indulgent framing device. It's an honor to hear that the little narrative I wove here managed to completely suck you in. Hopefully this homage was worth the cost of my sanity.
I love this so much. This is so well written, recorded, and spoken. Crafted out of pure passion and love! Can't wait to see more. frostbyte lore upcoming!?!?
This is the lore- the *deep* lore. It's all in there. That's all. Thank you so much for the kind words. It means a lot to hear you say this video was well-crafted, at least to you.
This was incredibly well made! Probably the only video on youtube about Whitepine that has the same quality as Whitepine. It always makes my day to see people pursuing passion projects even if it doesn't do as well as other types of content.
Thank you. I'm glad you sincerely enjoyed this video, as well as its shamelessly self-indulgent framing device. Means a lot to hear you say that it's at least somewhat well crafted, haha. After making this video, though, I've gained a better perspective of the scene and discovered that I'm not the only one to take this approach- ShadowLord782 actually has a really excellent narrative-based theory video with a similar style and much more succinctly executed story sans all the meandering and malaise I did here. You should check it out if you've got half an hour... it's seriously so well made, and if you like Whitepine, I can't recommend it enough. This right here is a real labor of love. ruclips.net/video/tac4vWCnznM/видео.html
I love how works inspire other works. Your unapologetic commitment to the dauntless delivery of your video, the melodramatic monologues to the audience, the weaving of this detective into the Whitepine lore was, I suspect, subconsciously or consciously inspired by ivory's own leap of faith. pardon my detectiving, but that is very beautiful to me also i had no clue that ivory made the music herself
This was beautifully crafted, and even though I might’ve suggested you this, nobody could do this kind of content better. You can tell the passion and the genuine curiosity and care for the series is there in every shot, every explanation and theory that you make, it’s so very apparent. The story itself you’ve crafted here in your own arc is nothing short of art either. It’s Meticulous, it’s everything you’d expect to see from the frosty man himself, and most of all, It feels like *real,* *raw* emotions. As someone who aspires to one day achieve the levels of thought it takes to make a *good* video essay or theory videos like these (Matpat wishes he could make cinema as good as this), this is… just beautiful. It’s beauty. It’s more than just stringing together a few theories, maybe a few fancy words(that the average person might have to look up what it means) and calling it a day, hoping the algorithm picks up this video. It’s passion. It’s love for something that takes quite a lot time and effort, but when put together, creates something truly magnificent. Something special. You should be proud frost. Thanks for the great video 💛
No, thank you, Emily. It means a lot to hear you say you enjoyed this one, especially what with all the tangential meandering through the scenery by way of silly hard-boiled detective skits. Glad you were able to glean some visceral, earnest emotion through the script, too. That's incredibly high praise, and it's hard to articulate how much I truly appreciate comments like these.
AAAAA THIS WAS FANTASTIC!! YOU RECONSTRUCTED THE MANSION??? FROST LORE???? AND BASEMENT BY DANTOL AS THE ENDING TRACK?? I'M SO OBSESSED YOU HAVE NO IDEA
just as much as i think whitepine is one of the central contributing factors to the blooming presence and popularity of minecraft storytelling as well as inspiration to follow the medium, i believe your analyses are right up there. i never would've considered whitepine without your commentary on it, and you had me waiting patiently for this video ever since it was mentioned in your previous. i look forward to more of your works, whether it's commentary about deceptively interesting topics, about stories within or separate from minecraft, or maybe even personal works--stories you might want to tell yourself. hell, i'm already drawn into you building off of whitepines narrative as a detective in its world, and i'm not even finished the video. once again, good work. love what you do.
Thank you so much! Comments like these really do mean more to me than you could ever possibly know- I'm glad I convinced you to give Whitepine a chance, and that you found my analyses to be at least somewhat salient. Happy to hear you enjoyed the silly little hard-boiled detective skit, too.
Eight thousand views. This video is as underrated as the series it’s based on. You sir made me cry, not many can claim that. …I’ve so deeply entrenched myself in this fandom, and it’s only been 2 days…
This is the best Whitepine theory video I've seen & hope you make another with 3's release, especially since it has info regarding the series' time period with the transition from carriage to car in living memory & Red/Clown having fought in a war. Great vid regardless!
I definitely have plans for another Whitepine video, but it might be a bit. This was an awful lot of work, after all, and I don't think anyone is quite ready for the next one to be even more hopelessly esoteric and incomprehensible, even if the runtime is slated to be shorter. I'm glad you thought my analysis was quality, though. The comments I get on passion projects like this are few and far between, but they really keep me going. Thank you. I appreciate it more than you can know.
They were in development concurrently and I had all of fall break to do nothing but work on this- that's how I managed to release two hours of stuff in about two weeks. I'm so tired. I'm never doing this to myself again.
@@FrostbyteFreeman while I can’t say the mental exhaustion was merited, I can say that without any shadow of a doubt that this was such an experience, a piece of ‘art’ as you say that just paints how well YOU yourself are at your… the word ‘work’ comes to mind but it’s not appropriate here. but I’m sure you get the idea. Thank you for exerting yourself, frostbyte
You convinced me to watch whitepine last video. Now I’m dying of anticipation for the next episode. How dare you do this to me!!!! All jokes aside, great video, as always.
I watched your other most recent video and was excited about a Whitepine video, not only has this lived up to my expectations it grew even further into one of the most beautiful "commentary"(?) videos I have watched. I'm pretty sure the next Whitepine episode comes out in a week or so, and it's going to be interesting viewing it through the lense of your theory.
Thank you very much for the incredibly kind words! I'm happy you somehow sincerely enjoyed the very silly detective skit framing device for this video, haha
I emphatically disagree! Ivory’s already locked the scripts, and I have absolutely no intention whatsoever to interfere with her artistic vision. Besides, the whole point of this framing device is that I’m on the outside looking in. I see myself as the Benoit Blanc to Borm and Rek’s Lieutenant Elliot and Trooper Wagner, respectively- an outside man, a private eye hired by a mysterious benefactor to crack the case after dissatisfaction with local law enforcement’s efforts. Still, even if the very thought of that actually happening makes me horrifically uncomfortable, I appreciate the spirit of what you meant here… that’s very kind of you to say. Thank you so much for the compliment, it really does mean a lot to me.
This video was really well made and the parts with the basement and piano almost made it feel like its own movie, I think that this being almost the length of the show it is analyzing shows how good an analyzation this video really is.
Thank you! That's very kind of you to say- especially since I'm painfully aware of how long this one is, haha. Glad you managed to slog through it somehow, though!
I rarely comment but I feel a need to express how much I love this video. The visuals, background music, and your articulate vocabulary hooked me since the beginning. Watching this was just as, if not more entertaining than white pine. In addition, your voice matches the ‘detective skit’ quite well and that was also a nice shift from regular white pine analysis videos. Thank you for your hard work, I throughly enjoyed it :).
Thank you! Means a lot to me that you felt compelled to comment on this video to tell me how much you enjoyed it, especially since it's something you seldom do. Glad you enjoyed the silly framing device and that you thought it added something to the narrative, too!
this is actually the coolest theory video on ANYTHING that ive ever seen, i love the little "side plot" with frosty / our protag(?) effectively tweaking over the case WITH little tidbits of their own lore??? the third eye, how everything is phrased, how they piece together everything - actually something cherry-picked out of peak media and i will die on this hill. absolutely criminal how they're still under 50k, i would've expected at LEAST 2million with how well this was made
Incredibly late to this comment, but thank you for all the kind words! I'm glad you appreciated both this video and its silly, self-indulgent little framing device, it really does mean a lot to me!
This video is one hour long. You could watch both of the episodes of the show that have been released thus far in that interval of time. I trust you'll make the smart choice here.
i don't have a lot to say about this video that hasn't been said already -- it's fantastically shot and scripted, has very solid groundwork and has good textual backup in most places, and is a really well-made piece of art inspired by another fantastic piece of art. i do, however, have one question i don't think anyone's asked before. a question about another question asked during Bormetheus's interrogation of Ivory. because it's unclear enough that its meaning could seriously shape the way we view the core setting of this series. so, putting aside the police force's incompetence for just a moment... did Bormetheus ask _"Why did _*_you_*_ decide to work at Whitepine Estate?",_ with an emphasis on Ivory as a total unknown, or did he ask _"Why did you decide to work at _*_Whitepine Estate?",_* with an emphasis on the Hemlocke family manor as being an unusual place to seek employment?
Thank you for the kind words- glad you thought this video was somewhat solid on a foundational level, at least. I'm big into the pragmatic effect of utterances, so the way I read Borm's line there (since there isn't any overt emphasis one way or the other) is with a tone of incredulity and an interrogatory *force.* All of the police's questions in regards to Mysty seem to think their assessment concurs with the Wire, and that the crime had to be perpetrated by a fellow servant. This utterance is in turn colored by this knowledge; Borm has spotted something to arouse his suspicions, and is applying pressure on Ivory to try and discern motive or to see if she will crumble under stress.
@@FrostbyteFreeman i'd definitely agree that's the most likely reading of that line! i just can't quite rule out the possibility of it being the other -- there is a _lot_ of focus on the Hemlocke estate as a location, to the point where the manor is practically a character in and of itself. even discounting the supernatural, there's a level of malaise about the place you've articulated very well and i don't think it's a stretch to say that there could be _something_ known to be capital-W Wrong about Whitepine Estate. (admittedly, this can also be taken with a massive "favorite book is *_House_*_ of Leaves"_ shaped grain of salt. i'm a sucker for a location with personality.)
literally discovered you two hours ago, and I've been binging your stuff. this way of talking about minecraft is beautiful. keep up your artistry. i look forward to what you have to say. have a wonderful day bro
Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm glad you appreciate the unique perspective and insight I bring to my analysis. The fact that you went this far into the deep end immediately after discovering my work is high praise indeed- really means a lot to me. Thanks again for the comment.
This video is so beautiful! The way you deliver sentences is music to my ears; I adore your detective skit, and your cinematography makes me feel like I'm watching a spin-off of White Pine! I don’t normally comment on a video’s quality or theatrics, and I don’t have an impressive vocabulary like you do, so please excuse my wording ^^’ I'm not familiar with Ivory's old works, so I might sound ignorant in saying this: Thank you for not taking the "monster" approach. I just can't imagine anything extraterrestrial happening in White Pine at this moment. As much as I'd like to keep an open mind, there isn't enough confirmation in my eyes to consider her past works canon to White Pine, but that's just my opinion.
I thought this comment was very well written! Thank you so much for all the kind words, I'm very happy to hear you sincerely enjoyed this video and found it beautiful in some way.
This was pretty awesome, I like how you used Whitepine to sort of tell your own story rather than just make a theory in itself. I'd like to see what you think now that EP 3 is out, or if you were able to gather anything from it as far as the murder goes. Awesome video :3
You know the video's good when you don't check the time stamp a single time and only realise you've watched an hour long video, fully engaged, once it's over.
Thank you for the kind words. Glad you thought the writing for this one was of sufficient quality, even with the framing device detracting from the tightness of the script.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it haha- means a lot to hear that you think it's underrated, too! I think the script I crafted for this one was too incoherent and self-indulgent for anyone else to even appreciate it at all, so it's reassuring to hear you say that it deserved a bit better. Ah well. Didn't make this one for the views. Sometimes, it's just about love of the game.
Awesome video, definitely the best whitepine theory video so far I do have some small notes: 26:33 Yeah as far as i can tell none of the clocks actually show the correct time except once in the foyer when mysty's body is shown (correctly shows morning time). Also as for where pyro's room is, it's suspected to be on the 2nd floor on the west side, but none of the other 2nd floor west side rooms have been seen so far. 26:50 It's just "zam" not "zamuel", not a single person has ever called him "zamuel", he goes by PrinceZam online 33:49 Bit is in the kitchen with all of the servants when the scream is heard. 34:47 Door 7 isn't actually there, you can see in WP1 at 08:13 and at 28:36 that it's just solid blocks there. Door 6 is there but it's a big open arch rather than actual doors (see WP1 14:37). 39:15 FINSCRIPTS MENTION 40:35 This is such a tiny detail that only somebody who is very familiar with the mansion build would notice (me), that candle is on the wrong side of that entrance (should be on the west side)
Thanks for the feedback. I'll try to line-by-line down the flow, like I did with Duvox's comment. 1. Based on the few shots of the upstairs being cleaned, I ascertained *roughly* as much, but having just the one room slapped on top of the mostly clean first-floor silhouette would have looked weird so for aesthetic purposes I just kinda gave up after I got all in the stuff I was mostly comfortable with. 2. I know that, I'm doing a bit 3. Had to go back and scrub through the episode frame by frame to confirm I missed this, but as it turns out, I am in fact an idiot, and his head was hidden behind the ham-hock and Lopppez's shoulder in both angles. Can't believe I somehow overlooked that- very profoundly stupid of me! Completely renders most of my analysis null and hilariously irrelevant, though somehow the conclusions I came to survived intact. Good catch, thanks for calling me out. 4. Another grievous omission on my part. 5. You have no idea how invaluable those were. Thank you so much for all the work you did to make the transcripts more easily accessible and comprehensible. 6. See lines 3-4. Thanks again for all the work you and everyone else has done in the community to crack this case. Like I said in the text, hopefully you accepted this in the spirit with which it was intended. And hopefully you got... something out of this very messy hour of programming, too.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed this video and its meandering, esoteric, winding tour of the landscape framing device in spite of its self-indulgence. That runtime sure is a doozy, I know.
@@user_aymen_kaid I have a full list of every song I used in the description. Some of it is classical, some of it is from movies I enjoyed, and some of it was written by Ivory herself.
I've just come across this channel randomly, this whole vibe is the most beautiful and passionate experience I've felt in a while... I LOVE THIS!!#!@#@-
Thank you so much! I am deeply honored by the fact that this video resonated with you on such a deeply personal level, and that you appreciated it so sincerely. This was such a sweet comment to get :)
oh, wow. this is insane. i don’t usually leave comments, but this video deserves one. i can tell the amount of love and passion was similar to what ivory put into whitepine, haha. keep making videos, this one was awesome :)
@@DGrade90 Here’s a very distressing but undeniably true fact! I have talked about Whitepine for longer than the cumulative runtime of every single episode of Whitepine that has currently been released, yikes! Hopefully that should help you endure the withdrawal from the Waitpine, if nothing else. Glad to hear you enjoyed the video!
You're being really nice here, and I appreciate the kind words, and I hate to be an absolute pedant... but this video *technically* isn't cinema, though.
It was definitely the director's intention to make that scene as uncomfortable as possible in order to reflect the character's own sense of tangible discomfort. Really well executed, class stuff.
theres no way you actually just proved one of the bigger theories on whitepine tt (WITH ACTUAL EVIDENCE TOO????) also everything abt this video is amazing oh my god
Thank you! I'm really glad to hear it, haha- this one was always doomed to fail for all the effort I put into it, but I persisted regardless. If just one person sincerely appreciated all that hard work, though, I'm happy. And so I am.
Ivory's homages to Kubrick are definitely intentional (yes, there's more than one). Will be exploring their symbolic function the next time I talk about Whitepine.
@@FrostbyteFreeman Miss Ivory pulls off Kubrick’s style very very well, she’s incredibly good at what she does. One of the best uses of camera angles i’ve seen in a long while. I’ll be waiting for your next deep dive into the series patiently.
I've been working on this thing since October 2nd, otherwise known as the day I sequestered myself away from society and locked myself inside a hermetically sealed, completely impregnable confession dial to ensure I could labor away on this project in complete and total isolation. I had no idea whatsoever you were already working on something similar. You have my sincerest apologies if you feel I'm stepping on your toes- think of me as a gadfly. @@FrostbyteFreeman finished the video, and it was REALLY GOOD. I really liked how you integrated your own bits of lore in the latter half of the video, Also, ivo was my main culprit, and as all humans do, I enjoy it when stuff supports my point of view.
The latest episode only reinforces your theory, the fact that zombie seems adamant to not let anyone else use pyro's room and ivory (the only person in the house besides pyro that spent a lot of her time there) showing the same symptom as pyro, i think you hit the mark spot on.
I personally think Ivory wanted to take a shower alone cause she is hidding something from his body, maybe scars or wings? In episode 3, even said that she only knows when she is hungry when is dinner time, like if she doesn't feel or need to feed herself
I’d hesitate to believe she’s trying to conceal wings- see my analysis on timeline intertextuality. Scars seem much more likely, especially due to the heavy implications of trauma. As for her inability to keep a consistent mealtime schedule, seen throughout the series, it seems to be another piece of evidence that suggests her possible neurodivergence more so than anything else to me.
I didn't think someone could combine an analysis with telling their own story but here I am! The whole thing feels like I'm listening to an audiobook of a detective novel and it is amazing!! I really wonder what you'll do next, keep up the good work! :D (My english might sound broken, I apologize if that is the case)
Not at all! This comment was very well-worded, and I really appreciate the kind words! I'm happy to hear you sincerely enjoyed this video, and that you enjoyed my analysis of the show through a narrative framing device! Means a lot :)
One thing I always thought was strange was that Ivery was chosen to be Pyro's personal Maid. Why not choose someone with more experience? There is so many maids and butlers already there, why specifically pick the one maid that is both new and currently struggles with a lot of basic concepts. If Pyro is being poisoned, Ivery is the last person to notice [and if it's found out, she's going to be the first suspect].
Great video! But please, tell me if you are aware of the RUclipsr Zeemyth (/[REDACTED] SMP in general). Though I agree that they don‘t quite reach Ivory‘s level, they are great stories in Minecraft, and not calling attention to them is unjust! Ed. 36:52 - One could say that Whitepine is a film „saturated in silence“ (if that joke lands, I’m amazed)
I feel like maybe this was meant to be a comment for my last video where I talked about other Minecraft storytellers besides Ivory? And no, I haven't seen [REDACTED] SMP. Apologies for the grievous oversight.
@@FrostbyteFreeman I did comment the same thing on the previous video, yeah. But for how good Zeemyth‘s videos and the rest of the [REDACTED] SMP‘s cast are, I feel like they also deserve some appreciation. If you like stories in Minecraft, you‘ll probably like those videos too.

Alright just woke up and watched this video, so before I let myself go insane over this I just wanna point out a few other things that bothered me a little before I go insane (this right here is why I didn’t start doing lore until Ivory returned from the void) 1. The timeline theories- How long ago did you write that? We did timeline theories for like a week and then spent the majority of our time on the murders. I mean I guess we forgot to update the doc and that’s on us, but that comment still hurts a little bit, especially since you spent the whole video explaining exactly why we didn’t get involved with the murders until a couple weeks in. 2. Removing the prior timeline- this ties in with the last, most of our current members are null truthers or support theories that allow Whitepine to be its own thing, so we were on the same page here. Your theory seems to be a mix of all our major theories, although I do want to add some weight to the rest of the Hemlockes due to the fact that Pyro is the oldest, and therefore would likely inherit Zombie’s fortune even with how vocal he is about the company. 3. Just some things I thought were funny- at 16:35 you mentioned Ivory being left being broken by God (or the opposite) which was a major point in our timeline speculation because of Killing God, and also the emphasis of the piano, another large plot point, and also likely the one most important to Ivory as she did name herself after piano keys. I’ve got a lot more, but most of that is irrelevant right now, and this comment is more than long enough already. This video was great, I love the theories, I’m only slightly irritated (so you did better than almost all of the other creators), and if you want to discuss this more, I’ll be waiting in the server with nothing better to do, so feel free to join us!
Thank you for the feedback. I'll try to go line-by-line down the flow. This video has been in production for... a while. Since the start of this month, like I coyly alluded to in the introduction, and at that time, timeline stuff occupied the major chunk of analysis at the start of the document (the only thing I was consulting). My intention was not to misrepresent your argumentation, and I'm very sincerely sorry if I did in a way you found hurtful- I wrote my analysis independently from the rest of the community, without actually following concurrent developments in the discourse since. Like I said in the text, hopefully you can accept it for all its faults in the spirit with which it was intended. A lot of my viewers probably weren't informed of just how deep down the rabbit hole went, so I wanted to start from first principles to paint an appropriately well-defined picture, while still making the then-current state of theorization more accessible and less sequestered away. If my analysis was erroneous or lacking in that regard, though, I sincerely apologize. Your C2 is kind of the same as C1 so I'm loosely grouping it here, but I definitely agree I could have highlighted the entire Hemlocke family's proximity to the crime better- there was a bit more baseless speculation I did on Izzy's delivery that got cut, as well as more stuff on the implicit class tensions that puts the family higher up on the list of suspects that I didn't underscore as well as I could have. That's on me, though. My intention, however, was very vocally to irritate, so in that regard I've succeeded (even if I still feel a bit bad about pissing you off). Think of me as a gadfly. A very annoying, disease-bearing gadfly. Thanks once again for all your invaluable work on the project of Whitepine, and to the rest of the community too. Hopefully you still got... *something* out of this very messy hour of absolute unintelligible nonsense.
@@FrostbyteFreeman Don’t beat yourself up about the timeline part. I was just curious. You have about the same level of understanding as some of our members (that stuff is CONFUSING, even though my most active weeks were the timeline weeks). Honestly that’s on me, I keep forgetting not to treat people like the theories I’ve been working with for almost 3 months now, and for that I apologize. My comment was very uncalled for. The baseless accusations were, well, unsurprising. If you look through my chat logs, you’ll see I probably make more baseless accusations than anyone. That part of the video I actually enjoyed, and was honestly quite impressive for the little evidence you had to work with. And the thing is, we ended up at around the same theories, and we had the whole server to help us. I can confidently say I got more than something out of this video.
@@FrostbyteFreemanfair enough! its clear that so much effort and attention went into the process of this video, even aside from the endeavors you detailed in the video itself. ive been really enjoying whitepine as a series, and you put words to what i love about it so well, and it has been awesome to see what it has inspired from other artists and creators. I love to see what else you make, especially from this series, if you choose to do so! this video is the only piece of your content ive watched, but i will certainly give the time to anything else that comes across my feed with your name attached.
oh noooo, the narrative video that spends the entirety of its runtime dedicated to the fundamental conceit of its own narrative arrives at the point through the telling of a narrative rather than just starting with it. Who could have possibly seen this coming, what a shocker
@FrostbyteFreeman don’t beat yourself up about it. I thought it was a novel concept. It at the very least caught me off guard. I thought I would be getting a simple hour-long textual analysis solving a murder and instead I got just under three hours (including your second video and Shadow’s video [and counting, considering Shadow said you were doing a collab]) of gripping narrative built out from an already gripping narrative. It was nice, like entering a room with a cake on a table in it only to realize the table was a perspective trick and there was actually four times as much cake as you thought
Hey, I've never asked any youtuber this but, can I see the script? It's a bit weird but the flow of words and modality is unlike any other styles that I've seen from this platform (i really need to upgrade my vocabulary). Please keep up the good work detective, really love the content.
I'm hardly the first person you should turn to for stylistic emulation bahaha. This script is supremely bloated, suffocatingly self-indulgent, and unbearably vague (except in the technical analysis sections, those are fine I think). I seldom actually post my scripts, but I'll definitely consider it- until then, I've got subtitles I guess, so hopefully that helps at least a little. Thanks again for all the kind words, and I'm happy you sincerely enjoyed my stuff so much!
@ thank u so much for even considering. Bro even ur comments still contain a strong vocab, really shows ur effort and commitment to your work. Keep up the good work 👍🏼
Why not comment this under the video where I actually talked about Unstable, and not a completely separate upload that was very clearly a deeply personal passion project? At least over there it'd be materially relevant. I don't know. You tell me.
I mean, pyro being poisoned would make sense because he was violently regurgitating in his bathroom… maybe it’s a side effect?🤔 Also you forgor the piano’s keys bruh 😂
The piano came like that. And really, that's the heart of the problem, because even if I could reach it, and even if I knew how to play... how could I?
It seemed appropriate. I'm trapped inside my confession dial, haunted by a horrifying specter of my own creation, and held hostage by an obstacle impossible for me to reach.
Wait a second, are you the same guy who deeply offended the master RUclipsr Psychicblast? What the hell dude. People get "frostbite" every day, AND IT HURTS
I’m not… totally sure how to take this? I did know PsychicBlast a number of years ago, back when I was still in high school, but things have been really touch and go for me since then and I’ve fallen out of touch with a lot of people I was friends with. If I did something to “deeply offend” him, I had no idea, and I apologize profusely- for whatever it’s worth now.
@FrostbyteFreeman don't worry brother. It's cool you've gotten some success in a totally different type of content. I was referencingPsychicblasts's video which I can't find anymore "Ninjago Community RANT" where he pretends to be offended by you and some other channels
@@peanutgallery4 LMAO I thought that last line in your original comment sounded almost familiar to me! I'm just genuinely surprised anyone still remembers my old channels where I was best known for a wide variety of wildly wrong theories about LEGO Ninjago. Guess I jumped to conclusions since so many bridges I've built have crumbled just due to neglect and lack of repair. Honored someone still remembers me from back then, if only vaguely. Retractions and Revisions:
1) I completely mispronounced Vi's name throughout the entirety of this video.

I love how works inspire other works. Your unapologetic commitment to the dauntless delivery of your video, the melodramatic monologues to the audience, the weaving of this detective into the Whitepine lore was, I suspect, subconsciously or consciously inspired by ivory's own leap of faith. pardon my detectiving, but that is very beautiful to me
also i had no clue that ivory made the music herself
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the video and the silly hardboiled detective skit framing device, if nothing else.
It’s Meticulous, it’s everything you’d expect to see from the frosty man himself, and most of all,
It feels like *real,* *raw* emotions.

Thank you very much for the incredibly kind words! I'm happy you somehow sincerely enjoyed the very silly detective skit framing device for this video, haha
they should add you as a character in Whitepine and make you one of the detectives investigating the murder
I'm glad you appreciated both this video and its silly, self-indulgent little framing device, it really does mean a lot to me!
man I gotta watch this once Ive finished the show
This video is one hour long.

I'm not familiar with Ivory's old works, so I might sound ignorant in saying this: Thank you for not taking the "monster" approach. I just can't imagine anything extraterrestrial happening in White Pine at this moment. As much as I'd like to keep an open mind, there isn't enough confirmation in my eyes to consider her past works canon to White Pine, but that's just my opinion.

I do have some small notes:
26:33 Yeah as far as i can tell none of the clocks actually show the correct time except once in the foyer when mysty's body is shown (correctly shows morning time). Also as for where pyro's room is, it's suspected to be on the 2nd floor on the west side, but none of the other 2nd floor west side rooms have been seen so far.
26:50 It's just "zam" not "zamuel", not a single person has ever called him "zamuel", he goes by PrinceZam online
33:49 Bit is in the kitchen with all of the servants when the scream is heard.
34:47 Door 7 isn't actually there, you can see in WP1 at 08:13 and at 28:36 that it's just solid blocks there. Door 6 is there but it's a big open arch rather than actual doors (see WP1 14:37).
39:15 FINSCRIPTS MENTION
40:35 This is such a tiny detail that only somebody who is very familiar with the mansion build would notice (me), that candle is on the wrong side of that entrance (should be on the west side)
2. I know that, I'm doing a bit
3. Good catch, thanks for calling me out.

theres no way you actually just proved one of the bigger theories on whitepine tt (WITH ACTUAL EVIDENCE TOO????) also everything abt this video is amazing oh my god
Thank you! I am very sincerely glad to hear you enjoyed it :)
Frostbyte i have homework to do wtf
I'm sorry! Please be cognizant of how you're spending your time and exercise good judgement! I hope the homework goes well!
48:10 We love a good Doctor Who reference! Especially when it’s referencing my favourite Doctor.
Thought it'd be fitting- what with these Whitepine videos being my confession dial, and all. Glad you enjoyed the reference, if nothing else!
absolutely adore all the knives out references
Thank you! Glad you actually appreciated the very overt, heavy-handed intertextuality going on here
The Frostbyte lore goes deep
It's not *that* deep. Hopefully you didn't mind my silly self-indulgent framing device for this video, though.
Love love LOVE seeing all these videos
Thank you! I'm really glad to hear it, haha- this one was always doomed to fail for all the effort I put into it, but I persisted regardless. If just one person sincerely appreciated all that hard work, though, I'm happy. And so I am.
How does this amazing video only have 600 likes?
Eh. The view count is what it is. Makes sense given how esoteric I made the delivery- don’t worry, the next one will be even more of the same.
This is why a gap year between high school and college is useful
?
You spoke on having took the ACT exam... i was making a joke i reference to many youtubers who took a gap year then never went to college
dam this was hella good
Thank you. I'm glad you managed to glean some small semblance of enjoyment from this absolute monstrosity of a video.
the first thing i thought of when i even saw the manor was the overlook from the shining

It was excruciating. I'm so tired, Sarah. Also why are you commenting on this again didn't I see you around here before already
Ok I finished it now :3 Very good job 👍
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed :)
Damn I wish there was a full cinematic style video about someone trying to solve Whitepine
*hint hint*
I've been working on this thing since October 2nd, otherwise known as the day I sequestered myself away from society and locked myself inside a hermetically sealed, completely impregnable confession dial to ensure I could labor away on this project in complete and total isolation. I had no idea whatsoever you were already working on something similar. You have my sincerest apologies if you feel I'm stepping on your toes- think of me as a gadfly. I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.
@@FrostbyteFreeman nah nah ur good, im just a little sad at myself thats all
@@shadowlord782 Sad at yourself? Why? I can understand being sad and frustrated when it feels like the effort and passion you've poured into your work has gone unrewarded and unnoticed, but there's no reason to be sad at *yourself.* That's not on you. You know this is serious shit when the series even have its own Imdb page
haven't finished the video yet, but i REALLY hope that it isn't clownpeirce. he has been the villain in so many pieces of minecraft content that, at this point, it's just starting to get old.
My thoughts exactly. I think Episode 3 supports this position, too.
@@FrostbyteFreeman finished the video, and it was REALLY GOOD. I really liked how you integrated your own bits of lore in the latter half of the video, Also, ivo was my main culprit, and as all humans do, I enjoy it when stuff supports my point of view.
Ok but the poems actually almost made me cry
Thank you for having such an earnestly emotional reaction to my work. I’m honored to hear you appreciated the intertextuality.
@@FrostbyteFreeman you did a good job I can't wait to see where you're writing skills take u!
UNDERATED OMG
Thank you! I am honored you think so haha, that's very kind of you to say!
40:50 i am being random but this moment in the video reminded me of the candle that in the killing god video was snuffed out
broooooo quite literally predicted the detective living in the walls and stalking Ivory :0
I just wanted to clarify for the record that I did it first, wayyyy before Borm moved in.
I really liked whitepine, I put some inspiration from it to my scp fic story
And if this is the case, I highly doubt Vi is involved, not with the way he's getting close with Ivery
Well, this video *was* made before both Episode 3 and 4 aired, so.

Glad to hear it. This is, after all, my confession dial.
This is beautiful!
Thank you! I am honored you think so!
Alright just woke up and watched this video, so before I let myself go insane over this I just wanna point out a few other things that bothered me a little before I go insane (this right here is why I didn’t start doing lore until Ivory returned from the void)
20:56 oh that's funny MY GOD IT'S JUST REALLY THE HALF OF THE HOUSE 🤣🤣 BWHAHAHAHA but man IT'S AMAZING REPLICA 😍✨✨

Dang I just saw the last video
They were in development concurrently- that's how I was able to release about two hours worth of stuff in roughly two weeks.
51:07 gonna be honest, I thought that was what you would have started with, and I was surprised when you didn’t
oh noooo, the narrative video that spends the entirety of its runtime dedicated to the fundamental conceit of its own narrative arrives at the point through the telling of a narrative rather than just starting with it.

I mean, pyro being poisoned would make sense because he was violently regurgitating in his bathroom… maybe it’s a side effect?🤔
Also you forgor the piano’s keys bruh 😂
The piano came like that. And really, that's the heart of the problem, because even if I could reach it, and even if I knew how to play... how could I?

If I did something to “deeply offend” him, I had no idea, and I apologize profusely- for whatever it’s worth now.
@FrostbyteFreeman don't worry brother. It's cool you've gotten some success in a totally different type of content. I was referencingPsychicblasts's video which I can't find anymore "Ninjago Community RANT" where he pretends to be offended by you and some other channels
