Amazing artwork! I can't picture any artist doing a better job than this artist did at what the Creatures and the Battle of Tarkus was truly meant to look like. The sheer strength and viciousness of these creatures, the hours upon hours of details that must have gone into this work, as well as the emotional impact of this version, while still maintaining such respect and homage to the original artist, is staggering. Great job! Great job! Great job!!
Same guy does Yes and Asia. ELP took heat for sounding too much like Yes. It was only Keith tho. That’s why they kick ass! Keith is playing the same stuff Wakeman was and built the monster to control it all. Play they same instruments you sometimes have the same sound. Well back then anyway. So it was BS and ELP made songs like nobody ever sounded!
I think that TARKUS has been 1 of most huge masterpieces of rock...beatyfull songs, fantastic skill but, over all, the way to play drum by Carl...a real "talking drum" !
There is no one like ELP. And the artwork of all the progressive rock, at the time, like ELP, Yes, The Moody Blues, and the like, was, and is, spectacular! The otherworldly images of the impossible, made possible. In my younger days I would put on one of my vinyl records, at night, and fall asleep to, say, Going For the One, by Yes. All of those instruments magically weaving through my mind until I was transported to another place...another time...another beautiful world...
RIP Keith Emerson y Greg Lake.
Incredible pictorial artwork like this is a perfect compliment to ELP's musical artistry. I love the artist's interpretation of the original album art!
Everything about this piece is just exquisite; I think their best work. The pacing is so beautiful and powerful and unique it raises every hair on my body! The drumming adds to it; that repeating organ passage ; that soaring guitar and of course the great voice of lake. The whole side through Manticore is actually one piece and one of the greatest in rock history; once I was high on great hash way way back when and nothing ever sounded better! Still does without even getting high; the music itself does it!
It's like a erudict piece of music, but in rock. I make sure Tarkus will remain like an erudict piece of music for all times, as well as Beethoven's nine symphonies, works by Bach, Mozart and many other classical music musicians.
Such iconoclasm, such grandeur, such an improbable cosmic landscape full of darkness, light, fear and wonder and above all mystery, with blasts that plunge you into a trance followed by sudden changes that wake you up, eyes wide and quivering eyebrows. I've been listening to this every now and then for ages and still hear new subtleties🔥
You have no idea how long I have been waiting to see these characters from this album “into animation or even CGI fantastic I’m going to pass this on to other folks that I know and let them view this
I'm talking to my younger brother about It. He's the genius of graphic computer and He's interested to created a movie like this. The problem is He's Very busy with other projects, but I'll try to find out a way to work together in this project😉👍.

Beautiful animation. For a classic ELP song. This album has some of the most fantasy style drawings on the inner gatefold. Actually one of the best albums of the early years
IMMENSE super souvenir 🤗🤗
I always loved their music passionately, but never took to the graphics and imagery that ELP - or any other of the prog masters, used to accompany their presentations. Having said that, I know a lot of skill and imagination went into them.
Nice job ma man ! Love the tribute, love the artwork and thanks for showing, at the end, the original artwork from the album....I believe the artist's last name was Neal (?) I think. Lovely work .
Great artwork. Just phenomenal. Now let's work on getting an actual animated movie of the manticore fighting with the armadillo and other creatures, using your artwork. Wouldn't that be AMAZING?!
I´m thinking to make a video about it, but not for now. When I'm working on this video (in the future) about the Armadillo vs. other creatures and the Manticore, I'll let everyone know!
That’s because of Greg Lake’s singing and guitar playing. You can hear a lot of The Nice as well due to Keith Emerson. Everyone knows how great a keyboardist Emerson was and how great a drummer/percussionist Palmer was but few know how versatile Lake was on the guitar, no matter what the type. While one may be able to argue he was never great with any one type of guitar, he was very good with nearly every type and in any style of music.

This work was done by an artist called Jerry LoFaro
This would've made a great animae cartoon..if it moves more

MAGMA
During my teenage years, ELP, Yes and Genesis were my favorite bands. It was a time when prog bands had real musicians.

I loved the cover art from the first moment I saw the album in early 1971...but this outdoes it. Absolutely epic.

I listened to this in the 70s when hifi stereo was in its infancy, the sound used to bounce off the living room walls, it was quite an experience
Metalic electro-sounding, musical, and utterly breathtaking.
RIP Greg lake, and Keith Emerson!
