I’ve never been in an S or E class that I didn’t like. Personally I’m a huge fan of the E63S wagon. When I travel I use an executive rental company and the provided vehicle is generally a Mercedes S class. Mercedes fit and finish is really good. Tactile feedback is great, glass quality is some of the best.
Well as a owner of 2 s classes aka w221 and w222, I have to agree that their build quality is great but as of COVID passed by Mercedes interior quality as well as fit and finish went completely downhill, as I sat in the w223 s class, my MB mechanics have been dealing with that a lot especially the S580e variant which has a lot of issues, the interior creaks a lot and it’s unexpected from a six figure dollar car, BMW seems to have been better in that area now
No doubt about it, the S Class is the ultimate. I am truly enjoying my '08 S550. Reliable and wonderful to ride in and own. Everyone who rides along feels important and in the lap of luxury.
Keep your old one, the new w223 is complete garbage in terms of reliability, my mechanics have been dealing with that so much that he told me to avoid it

With this car and the other cars in its class having so much electronics and overall complexity, is long term reliability completely out of the window now? It's a beautiful car but I can't imagine anyone owning it without a warranty or outside of a lease.
Meh this design language on S class lacks presence, just wished the headlights are larger, meanwhile despite the controversial 7 series may look ugly, but it does look distinctive and unique unlike the S class which looks like more of a bloated C
Car looks incredible but man all the piano black is a non starter for me and that guage cluster design looks like an aftethought especially compared to the rest of it (if i was in the market segment - which I am definitely not!)
that rear climate control is *not* full adjustable. it blows my mind that there isn't three (or four!) zone climate in a car of this class. just a big empty box in the back unless you get that option.
they are nice cars but honestly I walked into two Genesis dealers in NY and NJ and walked right out, horrible filthy dealers, untrained staff it was like being at the DMV, horrible experience we had. They may make nice cars at a great price but they do not have the prestige or image of brands like Mercedes Benz. These Korean brands really copy copy copy from the rest of the automakers are are not innovators by any degree with technology or design. Maybe one day il drive one but I doubt a S Class buyer would make the switch.
@@autofanaticcars I agree the dealer network is awful and that rt there will defer a Benz owner rt away!! Unless they can get that under control quickly they will suffer from the higher end clientele for sure it’s a shame too because the g90 is really a fantastic deal at 95k ur talking 35/40k less

The previous model looks better. I personally don't think there was any need for Mercedes to launch an all-new model, they could have simply put some new mild hybrid engines and added MBUX to the W222 and it'll still outsell the competition. And it would look a whole lot better than this car.
One of my colleagues bought a 2016 S550, out of warranty of course. I told him if wanted to burn some money we could have just sat around a fire drinking beer tipping the flames with hundreds. It’s cheaper.

Couldn't agree more after warranty this car will be mega expensive to own and replace parts.
Great car - beautiful with the star on the hood - but it feels like they should have put this new front on the older back...

Very nice car overall but lackluster plain appearance. Last generation had better front and rear lights & more interesting body contours.

yeah you can not keep a car like this for 10+ years or in the future unlike the classic models I still see 126 and 140 models rolling the streets.

im not a fan of the nose update but the car is still the most desired full size luxury sedan to get today in this market.
