The washer one gets me. IT’S CALLED A LAUNDROMAT. We’ve all had to go from time to time. It’s not exactly the most ideal but you have clean clothes. 🤦♀️
My child didn't want to get out of her pj's for school. My mother said I should "let her stay home this one time", I knew my child if I gave in this one time it would be a habit. I loaded her in the car pj's and all and sent her to school. I called the teacher and stated she didn't want to get dressed so she is still in her pj's, but going to school is non negotiable. I never had an issue of her getting dressed for school ever again.
My middle daughter liked to pull the refusing to get dressed thing until I told her I was taking her to school naked. I even got dressed, put on shoes and my coat and started the car. She decided to get dressed.
Thank you for saying what I always say, just because you are a parent... doesn't mean you're a good one. Their logic is faulty, as you said. Say it louder for the parents in the back!
I remember when my oldest son tried that I'm not getting dressed and going to school routine with me and he regretted it fully. I got his little brother ready and when everyone was dressed, I took them to school. One thing though, I wore everything Spongebob (pj bottoms, top and slippers), then proceeded to take him to his 2nd grade classroom. He was so embarrassed, but he never pulled that stunt again.
I watch these videos out of curiosity but I'm surprised and appalled at the stupidity of those entitled parents request considering they assume a school teacher has the obligation to second-hand parent their own child 🤨
When I taught 9th grade, a parent emailed me saying her daughter was grounded and her punishment was to wear the same color the whole week (green), and could I please enforce this and let her know if her daughter changed clothes at school. First of all, weird punishment. Second of all, lady, I am not paid enough to enforce your weird rules at school.
Only if that parent had given you some more green in your pocket would her wish have been granted. Just kidding. These parents expect schools to be clones of their own nuclear family policies and not be in tune with the real world.
Watching y’all with a glass of wine is just what I needed tonight. 😂 Today was rough, and I needed a laugh. 😆 Although hearing that some parents think we can’t teach well if we don’t have kids of our own is rough. I had to have a hysterectomy this summer, so no kids for me unless they somehow invent the ability to grow a new uterus. 😂
I’ve never had kids, but I can confidently say that I could parent much better after 25 years of teaching then quite a few parents that I’ve had over the years. Good teachers have to have good parenting skills because it is required of our job now.
Last year, I had a new untenured principal tell me I would understand this parent's request if I were a parent. Well, this year that principal is gone (thanks to the union, colleagues she bullied, and an awesome PTA). She found out this SAME parent and child need a more 'inclusive' setting than my self-contained special education class😂😂😂😂.
Possibly your funniest video, though perhaps we should thank these crazy parents for the ideas. But I adore your laugh here and in all of your other videos.
I can’t tell you how many times in 31 years of teaching that parents came to me for parenting advice because they saw what I was getting out of their children that they couldn’t. Childless AND gay here! 😀
@@juliennetully4814 engaging their children in arguments. I always advised to give directives and consequences. If the directives weren’t followed then give the consequences. The moment a child says “but” and you engage, you have lost the battle.
I’m 8 months pregnant and starting maternity leave 4 weeks into the school year. I have parents of my students who are upset that I won’t be back until November.
So, for the last one . . . What can a teacher do if the kid isn't wearing underwear. I mean, if the request isn't ridiculous enough, there is also no point in asking.
I’ve got a masters degree in being a teacher. Does that mom have a masters degree in being a parent?? Also teaching and parenting are not the same job.
How pathetic is it that a young mother doesn't have wifi and can't figure out how to wash her kid's clothing??!!!! What the heck is happening to this world?
It's amazing how some parents these days don't want to potty train their own kids at home. At some daycare centers there's a potty training teacher position.
OHN! Our youngest couldn't even go to Per-K before being fully 'trained'. Having educators or staff doing this us just unacceptable. What a horrible policy!!
Preschool teachers should also not be required to change diapers! Even if these teachers are parents themselves and did the same things (potty training, diaper changing) for their own kids or even other people’s kids whom they babysat, that’s utterly uncalled for to be required to do that type of thing on the job! Occasionally, potty trained schoolchildren in preschool-1st Grade have accidents during the school day if they can’t hold it at all until they reach the bathroom. But that’s a relative rarity. Parents requiring other people to toilet train their kids is abhorrent! No individual can potty train a whole class of students all at once! Parents themselves only have to toilet train one child at a time, unless they have twins or their offspring are very close in age. So how they expect a teacher to do that for dozens of kids is not living in reality in the slightest!
Not a crazy request, but, at one center I worked at, one of the assistant teachers took it upon herself to remove lice from little ones' hair. She would also clip their nails. All this was done on the outside plat area
Exactly. And he’s not even a good parent himself, having been caught on camera telling his son to shut up about Pikachu while Vance talked business to Trump over the phone!
I can't find a single time he's said that. Can you provide more info about an interview he said this in? The only thing I found is that he said activist teachers who try to brainwash other people's kids without having their own was weird and they should just have their own kids to push their ideology on, and he only said it once in 2021 at some Christian event.
I had a kid come in in her ballet outfit, and her mom handed me her clothes and said, "Miss Yvette wants you to change." I said, "Oh, don't worry. She can wear her ballet outfit if she wants." Mom grabbed me and hiss whispered, "No. I don't want her to wear it." She not only expected me to change her, she wanted me to be the person the kid was mad at.
I am a retired middle school teacher. The funniest thing a parent did in my career was when her daughter hit me with a notebook in the hallway plus a few other students and had to come in for a conference with the vice principal. The mom came in with a string bikini with a mesh “cover up” and flip flops. I wish I took a pic of my vice principal’s face. His jaw hit the floor. I just thought - yep, that explains everything.
When my daughter was in 4th grade I emailed her Lanuage arts teacher something like, I realize that you have many children in your classes. I have but one request and I don't mean to be the fly in the ointment. My daughter is special and if you could hug her throughout the day and maybe sit her your lap. It went on a bit more. I chuckled to myself. Turns out she already knew about me (teachers knows whose parent volunteer). She had printed it out and showed all the other 4th grade teachers. We all got a kick out of it.

Love it when they're getting a consistent message. BUT THAT BOOK DOES NOT EXPECT THE TEACHER TO DRESS THE CHILD! Contrary to idiot assumption. The book expects the other kids to act like kids and peer pressure will make them go get dressed. The parent is being loving and supportive by providing the means to fix the mistake, when the child realizes it.
I had a parent who was also a staff member of the same school I worked at ask me to drive her kids to school on days it snowed so they wouldn’t be late.

Any request that involves clothing (other than outerwear for cold weather) is a hard NO. I am not getting involved in their underwear under any circumstances.
I worked at Head Start and a parent insisted that I changed her children’s, 3 children’s, overnight Pull-up and put undies on. The management backed the parent up!!!! Those Pull-ups weighed a fricking ton, suspiciously like they were on the entire evening and night!!
