That's awesome that you ended up trading a few of the same sets!
That happened with one set between me and my Advent Swap partner as well. We both giggled about it!

@blackcat799 yesssssss I found one pretty cheap on Amazon, but it was two winters ago. Mine is just a plain black one, but I have a silicone nail one on top so my remover doesn't damage the heated one

Where was the mic placed in relation to your work area? Was it one you clip to your lapel? A headset style? Something you set on the table? You naturally have a quieter voice and it doesnt have very much resonance. (it doesn't carry as far across space, ie.people at the back of an autotorium would have a hard time understanding you from the stage, possibly even if you yelled.)
People with your type of voice are hard to mic up! I was a theatre kid in high school and a technical theatre major in college for a year. I was more into lights than sound, but I got some good experience in both.
Without investing in a zillion dollars worth of advanced audio equipment, I would suggest maybe considering a headset style mic that you can adjust to get it very close to your lips.
It moves it closer to the quiet sounds you are struggling to pick up (your voice) and moves it away from your surface and tools.
This might naturally equalize the balance without having to edit so heavily.
One that is designed for people who use speech recognition software like DragonNaturallySpeaking might be a good place to start because their mics are designed specifically pick up the details of vocal speech well in order for the software to be able to accurately translate it.
They are sensitive specifically to human voices, in essence.

@@VensVibrantNailsandBeauty It was a blue something and it was a large mic. It was about 2 ft in front of me on the desk. My husband replaced it with the kind that you attach to your like shirt, so I tried that one for the one I just recorded today and we'll see if that's better. I am very quiet unless I want to be loud 🤣
