    I loved Jimi Knits' designs. Went right to her site and bought her book of patterns. So excited to make one of her garments; it will be my first garment ever. Thanks for the great episode.

    I just finished a hat brim with the provisional cast on/three needle bind off and it was great, but SO appreciate the extra tip about "doing a few rows of main color first" for a future project. So thank you also Diane :)) I've just found you all recently and have HOURS to catch up on, but thank you for all the tutuorials and garment making tips especially! But I'm so enjoying you all -- seems you are having a lot of fun. MaryjoO on Ravelry

    The fair Isle is a great idea, too bad I just began watching your podcasts. I am loving your channel and I looooove your knitting Andrea. You are truly gifted. I have never knitted fair isle, but you have motivated me to try it, particularly with a garment. I ordered the Rowan Spring book, the garments are gorgeous. I have never knitted a jumper, actually I have never knitted a garment, but I am willing to take the plunge. Thanks again to you both, you are wonderful.

      Hi Adri. We are just launching new KALs - details in Episode 11. We also have a Tutorial chennel which you might find helpful. The video on the Darkness Coat goes through a lot of garment making details, many of which would be applicable for any garment. There is also a video on Donna Smith's Baa-ble hat, which would be a great place to start Fair Isle. Thanks for watching!

      Hi Paul. I have the advantage of having Andrea nearby. Maybe you can get down to a Knit Night at a local yarn shop, or some other knitting group. I would be totally lost without Andrea's help. (I wouldn't be good at asking for help from other people...) My other thought is that you practice on something other than a project. It doesn't seem to be the done thing in the knitting world, but that's what I'd do if I didn't have a dedicated support line! Cheers, Andrew.

    • @peepers4763

      Andrea is a major advantage 4 sure. I'll be watching some of her tutorials to help me over the humps. Having you in the podcasts is fun. Not just the knitting but having a man's terminology or rephrasing gives balance.

    I think the idea of a fairaisle garment is a great idea. I would take part in the kal but I am currently working on a sweater for our local knit shop which is supposed to be finished by the end of August.
    I learned how to knit fairaisle from the Philosophers a couple of years ago and made a steeked cardigan. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I just completed the Bla-Ble Hat and enjoyed your tutorial.
    Your podcast is one of my favorites. Thanks to both of you.

      Hi Dusty. Lovely to hear that you learnt from the Philosophers, and terrific that you found the Baa-Ble hat tutorial valuable. We have got more tutorials coming - just need to put the time into editing and finishing them up.

    Congrats on finishing those socks Andrew! I used to take 2 months to finish a pair when I began. :) And that yarn really is beautiful! Andrea, I love your cardigan so much! I can't seem to find the pattern on Ravelry though? I wish Rowan had easier online access to their patterns; as it is, I must admire from afar. Do you usually find the patterns at your LYS?
    Also, I love Alice Starmore's yarn too. The colour depth is really magical!

    Regarding provisional cast-on. I dont get part of it. Can you explain again please. Is the PC at the beginning of where the burgundy yarn is? As where Andrews circulars are in live stitches, you said in the video, you cant see the cast-on which confuses me. As I thought it was where the burgundy begins where it was originally knitted from the grey provisional cast on which I presume has been removed. Can anyone else explain. Or could you do a video demo please.

    Now you have a stash! You only need a small amount of the colors for the flowers. What are you going to make with them? Maybe Andrew can make socks with them. Love your podcast and recommended it to my local yarn shop owner.

    I think the short viewer videos are a fantastic idea! The only thing holding me back from doing it myself would be lacking the equipment to really produce a quality video. If using a basic video record function on a notebook is fine I'd be encouraged to do it myself. I'm just not sure what the end product would look like once uploaded. I've never actually posted a video before.

    • @FruityKnitting
      @FruityKnitting  8 лет назад

      Hi Stacy. I think a recording from a notebook would be ok, especially if it's not really old (-; Most smart phones these days also have good enough cameras. We're not aiming for cinematic quality, and we've had some practice with making the most of whatever material we can get. We'd love you to give it a go. Cheers, A and A.

      Hi Nicky. A few people are blocked by the technical side of it - which we can understand. Possibly you can find a young person with a phone who is prepared to help? Otherwise just enjoy your knitting. We're ver happy to have you along for the ride!

    Hello Andrew, perhaps you could try Portuguese Knitting to speed up your purling. It is a lot of fun and very easy. There is a great video of it at very pink knits( Staci) on youtube.
    I love to watch your podcast.

    • @FruityKnitting
      @FruityKnitting  8 лет назад

      Hi Nicole. Andrew here. I have heard that purling is good with Portuguese knitting. I'll definitely keep it in mind, but I'm just taking little steps for now. I really admire people who keep learning new techniques. Thanks for watching!

      I know, that you don't have much time for knitting, but I hope that you enjoy the knitting. It can be very relaxing. It seems like you are struggling sometimes with it.

      Getting started with the jacket was surprisingly hard with the tension and the new wool, but it's coming along now. I'm just aiming to do a few rows every evening and not stress about when it's finished - although I am really excited about having the finished jacket.
