4K CABVIEW Sarajevo - Capljina - 99 tunnels from Continental to Mediterranean Bosnia and Herzegovina

- The Sarajevo - Capljina railway line connects the continental part of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the Port of Ploce at the Adriatic Sea. The linking up Sarajevo and Capljina with a railway connection, required digging of 99 tunnels and construction of 65 bridges.
Very demanding and complex mountainous terrain at the route required the construction of many tunnels several kilometers long. The Neretva river canyon, in addition to being perhaps the most beautiful area on the route, caused a special way of line tracing. The line had to be raised above the river and high from the bottom of the canyon, which was flooded in many places by building numerous reservoirs along the river. Another very important and well known part of this line is the "Bradina ramp" (Bradina pass). With a few serpentines and numerous tunnels in the curves, a large altitude difference was overcome in a very short distance. The appearance of that part is especially shown at the beginning of the video. Trains overcome altitude difference of 750 meters between Bradina and Capljina (nearly 400m in the short distance from Bradina to Konjic).
Train stations and stops, significant rail tunnel and rail bridge structures along this line:

Hvala za fantastičan video. Kao penzioner dobro mi dođe da se sjetim minulih vožnji od skoro 40 godina.
I love the tunnels, not sure why but I'm thinking of all the effort that went in to them way back when.
Odličan video!!!!!!!!!Hvala !!!!!!!!Imate divnu zemlju!!!!!!!Hoću još videa!!!!!
i can only imagine how beautiful is the scenery in autumn
Amazing scenery, above all Narenta Valley before to reach Mostar. Anyone who thinks that Bosnia is an underdeveloped country, is wrong

as a kid, I was travel at this route I can say 1000 times as a passenger, and even now by car, and always amazed and feel like the first time
It is one of the most beautiful and legendary roads for generations of Yugoslavians and will remain :))) Great job Dule
Do you know when this rail line was built?
I’m pretty sure that this railway line was built by Austrians
@@RomaRomaUA Austrians built a narrow gauge railway along a similar route, but in the 1960s Yugoslavia built a new standard gauge route with new tunnels and bridges
Superb video !!
Congratulations on the great video, I really enjoyed it! Greetings from Bulgaria!

Super !

Thanks again for your very detailed notes. Noticed at the outset, the "run down" condition of the railway and even the station building. I think this was before COVID-19 so we can't blame that for lack of maintenance and stuff. Couldn't believe the number of signals not working properly. Feeling sorry for the driver. Beautiful countryside and a lovely trip in spite of my criticisms. Well done, again.
thank you so very much or presenting that peaceful video
Prekrasno i profesionalno snimljeno!

Wonderful engineering feat! Curved tunnels and bridges in alignment! Beautiful country side! Would look great in Fall season! Wonder what the do in the Winter Time concerning snow removal because of those over-head electrical wires? Would like to have that done during winter time!

Dusan, I wonder where you next cab ride will be? There will be other cab rides I and others hope, won't there? And were you aware that you next video would be the twentieth? That should be a special, nice long ride I think. Don't the rest of you all think and hope that is the case ? Warmest regards, Dana.

Hello Duveloz! Really great when I found out your channel. I am so appreciate if you could let me know somehow I can connect with you. I wonder if I can use this for editing my video clip. Thanks from Vietnam.
Just to mention, price for this train line is between 10 to 15 euro in both direction.
Excellent!
Another great video, thanks, are you also able to explain how the signals work and what they mean, maybe even a video?? Cheers Craig
Most of them dont work...
And does tooting mean a warning to animals the driver sees on the track? I hope so and if yes, then thank you driver!
Very nice sir
Ein gutes video ist das
Magnifique vidéo frero
Thanks for sharing such a lovely video. However, I noticed that the train jumped the red signal twice during the journey. How's that possible? It seemed to me that the signal wasn't working in some places.
Actually in Bosnia and Herzegovina, passenger trains have a passing advantage over freight trains, and a couple of years ago the railway info system was digitalized, so driver can se the upcoming signal up on a sreen inside a locomotive, but sometimes signals are a few seconds behind a digital screen so it seems like the train has passed trough red when actually it didn't
2:33:15 does it start with the red signal ?
great trip anyway
SI M P L E S M E N T E ...SENSACIONAL!
Hi Dusan! Would you care to give us a hint as to when the next train cab ride might be ? There will be more, will there not? I sure enjoyed the last two as usual. Warmest regards, Dana.
One question, Dusan: why the service does stop at Capljina instead of Pioce? Is missing some agreement between Croatian and Bosnian rail networks?
yes, governments disagree on some political issues
Muito bonito, muito bacana.
1:07:15 just this frame is worth the whole video (and trip too)
In the 70s, a fire was in a train in One of these tunnels. Some deaths.
I truly enjoy your videos. Just for personal interest: how long does it take you to edit a video of this length in 4K? Btw: how can anybody press dislike? 🤓
41:13 Fascinantno.
Hello Dulevoz. Amazing video as usual.
Is Sarajevo a terminus station?
Yes
Hi Dusan! I know you don't like to give exact dates on when you are publishing your cab rides, but is there any way to give me a tide frame - a month, two months ? I would appreciate an answer!!! Warmest regards, Danal
Beautiful again. Amazing! See my comments to the video Capljina-Sarajevo. Why is the ride not documented until Ploce is reached? No connection by trains or is it not allowed to make Cab-ride-videos in Croatia? In both caes it would be a shame...
Unfortunately all direct lines from Ploce - Sarajevo was discontinued due to economical reasons. The train only goes Sarajevo to Capljina and not to ploce anymore.
Update: today in 2024 ploce is the last station of this train ride :)
LUGAR LINDO
Hi, what is the name of the tunnel starting at 54:25 and how long is it?
I would like to see the Nis - Skopje Railway Line.
Hi Dusan! Are you okay? It has been 2 months since your last train cab ride and I am worried! :)))) Will there be any more cab rides soon ? Warmest regards, Dana.
"cases", not "caes", uff, I was too fast and did not read correctly before sending it away. Sorry.
