    I'm going to futher add in my mom advice.
    Do NOT get your children phones until they are driving and then the stripped down models ( ie, calls, texting, camera) should be the only 'phone' they need. Personal experience has taught me that I would NEVER EVER buy another phone for a child less than 16 for ANY reason. They are a nightmare.

      We get it. You’re 💁‍♂️🌈 and you have no sех appeal but when I was 16 I was still using my iPhone 5s from 2013 with no parental spyware whatsoever.
      The funny thing is that here in Sweden 16 year olds can’t drive…

      Please i agree with your comment and planning on using your advice. Can you tell me a little of what happened? So you gave them the phone at what age and they did what? Did you take it away till driving age or not and just regret it? Or do they resent you? Thanks. We don’t have tablets or internet for our children so they are used to it.

    I've been trying to research as much as I can. My oldest will be 12 in 2 weeks and we want to surprise her with a phone. I think Troomi for the win! I am so nervous to get her a phone, but its time.

      Be hypervigilant. Every child is different, but by and large kids are addicted to these dopamine stimulators (adults aren't any better). Best of luck!

      So sorry I missed this question! My account had comments turned off (by RUclips because we have content for kids) and I honestly didn't even know they were back on! The $50 off is from March 1 forward, and the free phone offer ended in Feb 2022.

    Does the Troomi phone require you to download an 'app' onto the kids phone? I find this is a self defeating feature since most kids are amazingly smart in deleting apps that they don't want their parents to see.
    Is the parent portal like a "Bark' system ( also a nightmare to use) or is it NOT dependent on the device being close by in order to pick up and detect phone features?

    • @KatieKimball
      @KatieKimball  Год назад

      The Troomi phone comes with their own operating system installed containing their parental controls, it doesn't rely on just downloading an app.
      I don't know exactly how Bark works to be able to compare, but there's nothing where Troomi needs to be near anything specific to track anything. I hope that helps!

    Does troomi automatically add new apps to the phone which the parent then needs to restrict, or does it add it to a database where the parent can then release it to the phone?

    • @KatieKimball
      @KatieKimball  2 года назад +1

      Great question! Apps are only added to a child's *phone* when the parent takes an action. Apps become "available" as in "on the list you can choose from" as Troomi approves them. Parents are always in charge! :)

    Bro I would not recommend it. When I was 11 my parents got me an iPhone and I didn’t do anything. Plus giving ur child that phone would make them feel like u don’t trust em. And I used tik tok when I was eight

      Naw, parents are supposed to watch out for their kids. I'm in law enforcement and EVERY SINGLE kid who ran off with some guy or got abducted did so through social media. Being protective isn't dumb if it works.

    • @BeeItsRaining
      @BeeItsRaining Год назад +6

      @@karwanfendi9187 Hi! I’m a 13 year old like your kid. You probably already chose. (I assume for Christmas) I got a Gabb phone for Christmas. Personally I think that both phones are great options. I LOVE having a Gabb phone, but I think I would have had the same reaction with a Troomi phone. I think Gabb is more focused on kids not using their phone as much and safety, while Troomi is focused on helping kids have a useful and safe tool. Gabb is great for contacting others, plus it comes with other features. While Troomi comes with even more features. Like the girl in the video said, she uses hers for school sometimes, so I think (like I mentioned before) that a Troomi phone is something your kid would use more often BUT it would be more helpful and useful than a Gabb would be. I assume you already chose, so I don’t know why I wrote this paragraph. I hope your kid loves their new phone.
