This song really reminds me of one of my favorite bands from over a decade ago called The Eames Era. Such a similar sound. I was really upset when they broke up, so it's cool to hear a brand new song with the same kind of vibe as them so many years later.

I relate to this as someone who's been a gifted kid their entire life- I've always gotten above average grades and been a teacher favorite and participated in church and school activites, I danced 4 days a week and performed regularly but continued to overwork myself and got aggresive [snappy, rude sassy etc, never physically] with people around me and began to not like school and not try [I'm still smart tho-]

I’m 21 in my last year of university and I feel like this song was made about me (I know it’s not but it is just so similar). I used to “nice” and constantly apologetic cause of past trauma. Now people say I’m brutally honest. I like to think I’m just being true to myself. But yeah things are going well and I’m just waiting for the next bad thing to happen to me. Waiting for my fall from grace.
Update, I am graduating. I did it. However, somehow, things feel less hopeful than I thought they would. I thought I would be happier. My "life" is now "complete". But my degree doesn't fix my family problems or my depression or my anxiety. My degree doesn't guarantee me a job or financial stability or admiration. I didn't think I thought that way but I must have because I just feel very disillusioned and cynical.
