Beautiful, Mr. Tigran! The middle-eastern touch was exquisite! I always look forward to how you make the rhythm novel every time! 🙂 You never disappoint! 🙂Is this Jazz Metal? 🙂 Thank you very much for the wonderful piece!
Is Anyone weirdly addicted? Is anyone else being mysteriously pulled into the whistle again and again? And being pounded by the insane riffs and bassline? ❤
I spent an hour driving with this on repeat today, and I can't even imagine how deranged I look to the uninitiated -- blasting this HEAVY genre-defying headbanger, while literally wiping away tears every time I notice another BEAUTIFUL rhythmic intricacy, not to mention Tigran's goosebump-inducing harmonic territory.
YOU've done it again! "The Curse" is an absolute masterpiece. The fusion of armenian folk, progressive rock, metal, and jazz is breathtaking, and the collaboration with Matt Garstka brings a whole new level of energy.
Beautiful and hard hitting! The synergy with genius Nate Wood on drums is as electric as always. Your compositions have reached a very impressive level of balance between raw playfulness and a sincere maturity. Inspiring stuff.
Ahh, those angelical whistles and the damn riff has been coming to my mind every day since I first listened to this song. We all have been beautifully cursed with this song I think. Can't describe how excited I am to hear the rest of the album. 🔥 Hoping to see you again in Argentina!! Lots of love 🎵
I love that all tracks so far are tied together. There are not many artists making such amazingly crafted concept albums out there ❤ can't wait to listen to the whole thing in one go
What a wonderful tune. Love the repeating stops with different piano fills. This is a great rhythmic exercise for ones brain. Makes me smile still and I've probably listened to it 30 times
Love the (wolf) tones on the low hammering piano during the breakdowns. Not sure if that's the right word for it but it's almost like you get the actual tone of the note and an interval that rides above the tone. Just perfect. Piano sounds amazing. Excellent mix and master
@@valuablesandwich I first heard Tigran as bump music on my local NPR station. I actually tweeted the station to find out who just blew my mind away and it was Tigran.
0:00 3/4 subdivided in quintuplets. Can be also described as 15/16. 1:47 Metric modulation where a quarter quintuplet of the old tempo becomes a normal quarter note of the new tempo. 1:51 4/4 (x3) + 3/4 bar over which a 5:6 polyrhythm is played. Can also describe this section as a measure of 15, but 15/4 this time. 2:18 Back to 3/4 in quintuplets. 4:13 More 4/4 (x3) + 3/4. Or 15/4 if you want. Both different ways of saying same thing. 4:38 Dotted quarter notes from the last 3/4 bar in previous riff become the new beat of a 5/4 divided into triplets. Can also call this a measure of 15, but 15/8 this time. 5:05 Back to 3/4 in quintuplets. 6:01 4/4 (x3) + 3/4 again.
I like to think of the 4/4 part having 1 bar of 6/8 at the end instead. Then 2 x 5:3 polyrhythms over the beat divisions of 123 and 456. It's a little cleaner in the bar that way.
The heaviness as well as everything that's happening in the world, armenia, the congo, palestine and ukraine, as well as other places of conflict, together with the title, this song just hits so hard for me
That is perfect because I ever wanted to listen to Kars I & II live in Yerevan but didn't have 20 minutes on my hands, this would be an amazing backup !
@@JerryBeansMan oh! My bad, just read the description ) I know Nate Wood, phenomenal musician!!! How interesting is our brain, I read the description and in my head really played Matt Garska. But the track is really very heavy, so in my head plus the description it was as if Matt was on the drums.
I knew jazz was like metal whitout distortion... but this is on a whole 'nother level, this is djent whitout distortion Edit i just discovered that Matt Garstka is on the drums, it makes a lot more sense now
@@anthonyperez-xd9fgyeah i noticed, but let's say that compared to djient this is almost clean, and the principal part is the piano wich i think is clean, but correct me if i'm wrong

@@thecolouroutofspacee in the premiere on Amsterdam, Matt Garstka played with Tigran, so that's why I'm hyped
Easily one of my favourite Tigran pieces. Returns to the old Tigran but still sounds and feels fresh.
