The glory of this song is that is it so catchy, absurdly risque, and short, that it only makes you want more to the extent of listening on repeat. A perfect single.

The picnic scene at the climax of the video really gets to the heart of it for me... Combined with the sexual nature of the song, my interpretation is that the lobster girls are in the company of some guy friends who are lusting after/preying on other women, oblivious to how it affects their female friends. The "I'm a f*ng lobster!/it's enough to make a girl blush" is the breaking point where the lobster women can't take any more of watching their guy friends casually mistreat other women.

When I first heard this band on the radio I thought maybe due to the college station this was some sort of alternative throw back I missed in the past. Its nice to know this is actually the music of today and that im smack in the middle of learning it.

I heard this during my work. I really loved it and tried to find it later. I wasn’t sure how old it was but I checked all 80s top 200 songs and it wasn’t there, so I knew it was newer because it sounds different. After finding the radio station and digging back to the time I was at work I finally found this song!!! Took me many hours and going through a thousand of songs😂 but worth it

Not sure if I'd call this alt rock. It's sounds like what was called rock in 2003. I'm old so when I think of alt rock I'm thinking pixies, belly, breeders, dinosaur Jr, folk implosion etc
plenty of good alt-rock in the 2000s. From the top of my head - and since its A.very similar and B. better because a lot less "girly" - Courtney Barnett. Try "pedestrian at best", "Avant gardener" or "Elevator operator" to start with o/

I saw this band live, about the time they made this. They were possibly the best live band I’ve ever seen. They had a perfect sound balance and a charismatic delivery.
