Not sure if I'd call this alt rock. It's sounds like what was called rock in 2003. I'm old so when I think of alt rock I'm thinking pixies, belly, breeders, dinosaur Jr, folk implosion etc
plenty of good alt-rock in the 2000s. From the top of my head - and since its A.very similar and B. better because a lot less "girly" - Courtney Barnett. Try "pedestrian at best", "Avant gardener" or "Elevator operator" to start with o/
You are clearly missing out on a lot of good shit then if you think that lol. Not dissing this band just think it's crazy that you think this is the best alt rock band to come out of the past 2 decades.
I heard this during my work. I really loved it and tried to find it later. I wasn’t sure how old it was but I checked all 80s top 200 songs and it wasn’t there, so I knew it was newer because it sounds different. Great stuff ladies (and chaps). Exciting following a new band, waiting patiently for the studio recorded version. And the cottagecore makes an appearance again.
@@EstebanMcC This is the studio recorded version, which has only been revealed today (hence why I was waiting patiently). They'd only performed it live so far.
Absolutely love this band , sometimes the new stuff ain't brilliant and I harp back to the 80's and early 90's but this is a song I can't stop playing 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
Now this is what a music video should look like.. interesting, unique, bizarre, bloody brilliant! Also the song and humor are too notch. Seriously crushed it.
Saw Wet Leg pop up in my feed and looked like a new video. Not disappointed. Very catchy lyrics and melody. Video obviously makes it better. Glad I stumbled upon this band.
remember being blown away going to watch Buffalo 66 last century, and never thought I'd be blown away decades later hearing it referenced by the band that's made music fun to listen to again..... and how come nearly everyone here mentions it? In over 20 years I've never met anyone who remembers, or has even heard of it
I’m in Los Angeles, 58 years old and never heard of Wet Leg until yesterday when I read some article where David Grohl mentions how he likes them. The funny thing is that I’m not even a fan of Grohl’s. I was just passing time reading random news articles. Wet Leg is fantastic. They remind me of a mix of some great bands from Suburban Lawns to Sonic Youth to Skating Polly. Such a cool band with a great vibe. This is the great thing about music… there always something new and cool to listen to if you just look a little. Wet Leg Rocks!!! ✌🏽❤️🎸🍄
Me too, except I am 59 and a huge Foo fan. Still crying every time I think about Taylor but this band gives joy and hope. for an otherwise bleak looking future.
Damn I'm really digging Wet Leg, so happy to have stumbled upon such a fun band with such a cool sound! I love bands that don't take themselves too seriously. Different sound, but they remind me of FIEH, in that way of not being full of themselves and embracing their success with a bit of a tongue-in-cheek attitude. Loving it! ❤🔥🤘🤘
I love the 80's era for music as we had variety of music back then. I listened to this twice and it sounds really good and reminds me of the 80's stuff.

of all the brilliant stuff going on in this song and video, I think what I love the most is that it ends with "Let's begin"
Love this band and my favourite film is buffalo 66. Saw Vincent Gallo in 2004 when he played the royal festival hall. Can’t wait to see Wet Leg in Manchester 🤪
Congratulations on winning the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album!!!!
Great stuff ladies (and chaps). Exciting following a new band, waiting patiently for the studio recorded version. And the cottagecore makes an appearance again.
Studio recorded version? No, thanks! This is cracking :)
@@EstebanMcC This is the studio recorded version, which has only been revealed today (hence why I was waiting patiently). They'd only performed it live so far.
@@pedalpusher1696 Ah, it was the tense of waiting, as though still, rather than had been waiting :)
Cottagecore! Haha! Love it!
Welp, that was fun. Just as catchy as the first single, though I've now got crustacean-related questions.
I'M A FUCKING LOBSTER!
@@ChrisDuval A rock lobster!
You want your own set of lobster claws to wear to gigs ...don't you ?
@@craigbruceuk I mean, who wouldn't want those?

Search Rhain......
This is a lot of people if you look
Rhian Teesdale did some amazing vocalizations for the excellent Plastic Mermaids at some of their gigs.
Its too repetitive to be OUTRAGEOUSLY good.
@@duewhit310 Erm. Chaise Lounge..... 🤷🏻♂️
I love the backing singing in this
This will be the next big indie hit around the world.. mark my words. The world will love this song.
I heard this on KEXP today for the very first time and was immediately hooked - awesome! 🤩
i want to thank harry for covering this song because now i’m in love with you music
Absolutely love this band , sometimes the new stuff ain't brilliant and I harp back to the 80's and early 90's but this is a song I can't stop playing 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
This song has been constantly on repeat in my head ever since I heard it, so catchy!
Yall are about to get a whole new wave of viewers haha hello from Harry styles fans. Great music.
congratulations, Harry did a cover of this song!!!
I’m a goth, thrash, metal head and I CAN NOT stop listening to this song!!!! Spectacular song…
thank you harry for introducing me to this band! cant get enough
I almost never comment on music videos but Wet Leg are the freshest most original new band to appear in ages. Can't wait to hear more!
Every bit as brilliant as the first single……just 2 mins 33 of pop genius.
And a mention of Buffalo 66.
Yeah i had to do a double take when I heard that. Like 'you guys know that movie". Cool
I'm old enough to remember the B-52s breaking onto the scene, similar vibes .. 🎶🎵🎶
I"ve only heard 2 songs and I already love this band. I'm about to grab the album.
So great. I don't think I can handle a whole album... they're just too good, too funny, too cool.
The greatest current band is just killing it song after song
Thanks harry for introducing me to this masterpiece
Now this is what a music video should look like.. interesting, unique, bizarre, bloody brilliant! Also the song and humor are too notch. Seriously crushed it.
Saw Wet Leg pop up in my feed and looked like a new video. Not disappointed. Very catchy lyrics and melody. Video obviously makes it better. Glad I stumbled upon this band.
Uhmm...yes. You guys are insanely good, loving it all.
Here after watching harry’s cover of the song. I honestly thought it was an old song. This is amazing!
Glad I stuck around for 53 years. Fuck i was getting bored and then Wet Leg just frigging jumps out of the radio! Well done ladies.
Hey you might like a band called The Doublejumps if you like Wet Leg
remember being blown away going to watch Buffalo 66 last century, and never thought I'd be blown away decades later hearing it referenced by the band that's made music fun to listen to again..... and how come nearly everyone here mentions it? In over 20 years I've never met anyone who remembers, or has even heard of it
Watching Buffalo 66 DVD, what is that in today's equivalent? Why don't you come over and we can watch Netflix and Chill for a date?
Ricci’s second best performance
@@jasonreid585 what's the best?
Si pero estoy acá porque Harry le hizo cover a esta canción y la verdad me ha encantado la canción
You know when a debut single is SO good and then you get the absolute terror that the band becomes a one-hit wonder?
This is NOT that. Incredible.
I'm 63 here after watching the Brits ( well some of it. ) Loving the music from a punk
Two songs and two belters. Good work. Love this group, hope to see them live soon.
@@jeffwilliams8074 I turned 65 Friday and I am a life long Deadhead and I love 💕 Wet Leg! ❄️🌎❄️👁️💝🎵💣💥💕🥂🍄🙏🍷💯💖
@@johnstallings4049 Hell yeah. I just wish I had seen a Dead concert. Wet Leg is definitely one of my favorite new bands to come out in a while.
@@jeffwilliams8074 thier new album comes out on April 22nd I believe. ❄️🌎❄️
I'm 65 and I love Skating Polly, Wolf Alice, Meg Myers and now I find Wet Leg recently. They're great. Ugly Pop is fantastic.
They've done it to me again. Hooks, beats, lyrics and I feel it.
I'm completely hooked, I think the band are awesome and I think they're going to be huge.
I came from watching Harry perform this during the BBC live lounge and it one of my favs!
I also have Buffalo 66 on DVD.
Missing a few 6's there buddy
That's "newfangled" boys-lookin-like-girls-music... I gots Mastadon 33.
LOL
WHAT IS THIS A SHIFTY CAR? I DRIVE LUXURY CARS.
The best part of that movie is Christina Ricci dancing to King Crimson in a bowling alley.
Loving it! ❤🔥🤘🤘
You might like a band called The Doublejumps if you like Wet Leg
I always liked Electric Six for this same reason. Kind of funny songs. Not to be taken seriously.
Saw Harry's cover and had to listen to the original version. Really loved it 💕
I just listened to this song on repeat for an hour in my car. A masterpiece and a total bop.
Absolutely brilliant. LOVE this band.
I met Henry last week. Such a nice genuine guy. You folks are brilliant. Love your music.
I am here after Harry makes this's cover. And I want to thank Harry for made me meet this excelent song.
I love the 80's era for music as we had variety of music back then. I listened to this twice and it sounds really good and reminds me of the 80's stuff.
i get hints of influences from the 60s til now. i think without modern production it could pass for being from the 90s.
So glad I found them......
Saw these guys at Manchester yesterday.... Brilliant!!!!!!
Wow. We need an album asap.
This is glorious and I love that they have Buffalo '66 on DVD, I love that movie!
Really good song, and when she says "I'm a fucking lobster" (inaudible) that's hilarious and genius.
Its a fairly explicit metaphor to say the least. 😼🦞
I thought that is what she said. Thanks for the confirmation.
