      At 52 now in 2024, he'll be competing for a spot at the Olympics. Peerless in pretty much all sports on the amount of success and length of career.

    Endurance!...the guy train a lot to be able to compete with the young generation; at the time Kelly came around it was all about power with Tom Carroll, Tom Curren, Elko, Derek Ho, Occy, a young Sunny Garcia, Damien Hardman, Barton Lynch, etc. and kicks some old school ass, theres even a story with Potts back in the day when Kelly was a rookie on tour trying to scare Kelly but he beat Potts in a contest and gain Martin respect from that day. Kelly even beat different generations of surfers still on the edge today. He mention once he now enjoy more comp than back when he only wants to wins World Champions Crown...the guy is a Legend.

    surfing is real hard on the body alot of people that go out on the water the first time can't even move for a couple days because of being so sore.

    • @DellyBets

      How can you get sore?

    • @internetvide0
      @internetvide0 8 лет назад +2

      paddling, standing up, it all uses all kinds of muscles. I know what he is saying basically he doesn't want to do cross training so he can surf at a high level.

      +Tony Roberts seems the same as skateboarding I can't really see myself getting sore idk

      until you actually surf you will have no idea how hard it actually is. looks easy but you gotta be incredibly conditioned to do it

      never come to a conclusion for something youve never done before. try it, you will be sore. no doubt.

    He's good. But better than kobe Jordan Tyson Ali I don't think..plus it's impossible to compare different sports skills. Especially surfing vs boxing, hockey, football and basketball. But Kelly is the man. Top competitor in the sport. Remember there were guys who were close. Rob machaodo for one. Tom curren. Tom Carroll. Laird Hamilton . Jamie o Brien. Bruce irons. Kalani Robb those guys are as good as Slater
