Raw dog collector here. All day every day over slabs. :) love the prices and the fact I can still flip thru. some absolute fire books when raw.. touch the old paper. smell the age on silver and golden age goodies. :)
You know I like grading my own books but it's definitely stressful when it needs a certain grade to be worth more than the cost to grade, nature of the beast. I also agree I won't spend big bucks online for ungraded books, I have to see it in person so I can dirty grade it and check value of a book in that grade vs. Cost of the raw + grading costs. 👍
I think the stress and the gamble is why I tend to stay away from graded and grading books. There are occasions (bigger keys) that I’ll send something in, but I wanna read it. Feel the paper, smell the ink and age. Lol
Depends on price. It takes 3-6 months to get something graded and cost at least $30-40. Moderns should be bought raw. Anything pre80s could have restoration so slab prob the way to go. If you don't care about grades and want it graded just buy low graded slabs.

Interesting Video. I have been thinking about making one similar to this but a bit different! Awesome stuff!
I'd love to see your thoughts on it!
Yeah, I agree "it depends" is the correct answer lol

I don't get the nostalgia from the old paper smell. For me, I just want to make sure I protect my favorite books am able to display them.
I'm a fan of both. With a graded book you know what you are getting, raws you just never know. But agreed it depends on the book, cost and situation.

I do also see the value in some graded books, it’s just the grading everything that erks me.
I feel you. Ad I should have clrified that this is for books worth grading.
I buy both , I agree on thr it depends aspect of thre situation.
Awesome video! At the end of the day both sides should keep an open mind and understand the why of both.
For sure! Everyone collects in different ways.

That's inda what I'm leaning towards now. Just buying low grade big keys.
I would rather buy it graded, I just don’t have the materials to buy it raw and have it graded. Also MAKE She-Hulk videos!!!
We can talk about She Hulk on stream!
Buy both
