      @JimAssalone 4 года назад

      You just made the argument to not do these test. No pistol is made to work under these conditions so why do them? The thousand round test in minimal time is a better test using many different ammo types and heating the gun up to see if it can function the way it was designed. If it passes take it apart and look for wear and tear beyond what is expected in that firearm after a thousand rounds.

    • @joshuagorecki4743
      @joshuagorecki4743 4 года назад +2

      @@JimAssalone the first time he did "The Gauntlet" Mac explained its like fighting hand to hand and rolling around on the ground. Your gun would get squashed into the ground, dirt, sand, mud, or a deep puddle. It's to test whether your gun would have a good chance of functioning... if you could get to it.

    I know every scorpion owner is running theirs through dirt, underwater, covered in mud etc etc. Face it people, you (myself included) clean your scorpion (excessively)after 200 rounds at the range. Chances that our Scorpions will ever see a fraction of this type of abuse is minute. Chill, take a deep breath and let Tim do his thing. I don’t see any major value in these kind of vids but something to watch. Have a great rest of the wknd!

    • @Militaryarmschannel
      @Militaryarmschannel  4 года назад +36

      I wish more people could chill and enjoy entertainment vs. getting all wound up. There are two types, one is the fanboy that loses his shit when anything negative is ever uttered about his choice of firearms. The second is the internet expert who will sit for hours, going frame by frame through everyones videos looking for any discrepancy they can find (or manufacture) so they can pretend to be the smartest guy in the room. Both types suck and the internet would be a better place without them.

Out of all the guns I own, it's my favorite, because it's super fun to shoot, it's easy to shoot accurately and it handles so well. It has never failed on me and I have around 2000 rounds through it. I have a binary trigger on it and a 50 round drum mag. I've mag dumped it several times without issue. I dont plan on running it through the mud or sand. Even if I was carrying an AK I'd still do my best to keep it away from sand, mud or anything else that could potentially cause an issue if I was subjected to that environment for whatever reason.

      Same here. I have a CZ Scorpion-K and it's an awesome gun, and definitely my favorite range toy. Its EXTREMELY reliable. Like MAC said, it happens. He could try the test again, and it may or may not do the same thing. Sh*t happens.

      The Scorpion cult is actually kinda scary, you pay $800 for polymer blowback PCC and then dump $600-$700 to get it "right" when you could have just bought a MP5 clone pre-rona. It's the worst performance per dollar PCC IMO.

    When I was looking for a small 9mm pistol I looked at the Scorpion when they first came out and didn't like it for the safety, and it didn't feel to me that it was a quality firearm. I purchase the MPX and paid just about double. That being said, I don't the my MPX would pass this test either... sand and mud... not so much. Thanks for the video.. Stump broke?

    It's late but i think sand should be after dirt and mud for multiple reasons. 1 it's a larger particle size which means much more issues when it gets into your gun. 2 sand is typically a lot harder and more abrasive than dirt or mud, 3 overall lubricity is much lower. Mud is obviously lubricious and dirt given that it's a little most will typically be easier on guns.. finally inclusion of water with same likely helps the ingress of sand.
    I would wager you see more guns pass element test then pass the dirt and mud then unfortunately fail on the sand. With the sand going first they are kinda knocked down before they have a chance to walk.

    • @cr0ss0ut
      @cr0ss0ut 4 года назад

      water first .. it's water pretty standard. Second, dirt it's a small particle size and typically softer than three other elements. 3rd mud, it's the same as dirt but water as lubricity and allows penetration into smaller areas of the gun causing fouling and malfunctions of the smaller individual componets. Last sand. As sand is the largest particle size and hardest of the other materials. It will cause a hard malfunction jamming up the action of the firearm.

      @@cr0ss0ut We've found that water kills some guns right off the bat (just wait until you see one of the PCC's we've done), then sand is the next hardest on guns (handguns anyway). Dirt is not as hard on guns as sand. Mud is saved for last as it almost always kills the gun (handguns). Initially the only thought we gave to the order was, water first because it should be the easiest and mud last because it should be the hardest.
