At the beginning of the Evo 3 build, there was a bet/argument with another person that it took a complex background
to produce subguns, which according to Jan, who is a veteran of the UN mission in the former Yugoslavia and who saw a number of Croatian subguns like Šokac being produced in small workshops, was not true, so he start build this.

    • @notablediscomfort
      @notablediscomfort 2 года назад +4

That's a silly thing to think just from a point of understanding how pistols work and anyone who actually thought SMGs require anything fancy should feel like a total goober. It would have been so simple to make pistol-based SMGs. Like imagine if they took a pistol with a stationary barrel, made the barrel longer, put a stock on the frame, made the magazine a lot longer, and put in a giggle switch. Done. Or even just use a pistol and slap some foldy rifle parts on it and a giggle switch. We never needed a Grease Gun. We coulda had SMG modded 1911s.

@@ng.tr.s.p.1254 I wouldn't say 1911 because the operating mechanism is more complex, but if someone with no background wanted to make a subgun in that era it would probably look something like a modified blowback pistol. That's still not a good SMG, but there's not very many design challenges between that and a simple blowback subgun.

I’ve never clicked on a video so fast. I’ve been in love with this gun for years, and CZ is my brand for my special shooter hands. It’s ironic and humorous that the prototype Scorpion is exactly what everyone who owns a scorpion wants as far as ergonomics go. Sub 6” barrel, ar/standard style grip, speed holes for when your hand doesn’t work, and skeleton stock that allows to be fired whilst in the unopened position. If CZ were a savvy buisness they’d remake the new evo3+ design and push the prototype design in 2025. It’d curb the market so hard for pcc’s, cmmg would be shitting themselves.

In Europe, people are jokingly calling IPSC production division the "CZ cup" now because everybody is shooting some variant of CZ Shadow. But I've also heard about competitors slowly moving away from CZ again because their quality seems to be getting worse. Don't know if that's true, but I have some anecdotal evidence:
I have this 6" long-slide version of the CZ75 SP01 (it's all CZ parts and assembled by some German tuning shop). The SA trigger wasn't quite perfect and I gave it to a gunsmith for tuning. He just told me he can't do a lot because my trigger unit isn't quite that good, with too much play. If I wanted a perfect trigger I'd have to buy a whole new trigger unit. That kind of pissed me off because the gun was 1700 Euros.

Having the grip vice-grip the two part dovetail like that adds a non-trivial amount of rigidity to the frame, and since you easily access everything that needs cleaning it has no draw-backs. Quite the stroke of brilliance if you ask me.

The stock was attached to the lower and the grip was interchangeable with any AR-15 grips.

I admire that little personal defence weapon sub machine gun or machine pistol which also can be called Skorpion Evo 1 of the first step evolution. To me, the size and the design of this weapon is very handle and convenient as it seen not that difficult to take out of the clothes or trousers big pocket or even take out of bag that one attach on to his or her body when one need it to defense oneself desperately.

I wouldn't wait too long to buy one.
If the Democrats gain two more seats in the Senate... They will pass a semi-auto ban... And you won't be able to buy a new Evo 3 (or any semi-auto gun).
Oh, and the cost of the used ones on the used market will skyrocket!

Have to give the Czechs credit and CV in particular. They really do give the Swiss, Belgians and the Germans some serious competition market wise. Quality and Innovative designs, well executed.
I certainly wouldn't turn my nose up at owning one or more CZs
Just don't see them much at the LGSs in the West of the US (Southern Colorado).

Actually if you drilled out a couple holes in the top pic rail where you could drop in some neodymium magnets, youd have to leave maybe 1/16 to ⅛ of an inch so the magnets will be close enough to the bolt to delay it enough and the polymer will still be thick enough to have some strength, then reduce the weight of the bolt with either a new, lighter bolt, or just remove some material from the bolt, drill some holes in it, that's really all you'd have to do to delay the blowback cheaply, I always hear people say they don't trust having magnets on their guns, it's funny seeing that the CZ already has a magnet on the stock or arm brace, I've done this to my AR9 and now it has very little recoil, I've never shot an MP5 but I'd like to so I could compare the roller locked delay to this magnetic delay, neodymium magnets are very strong, if you've ever tried to separate 2 of them then you know what I'm talking about, it takes alot of force, idk but I believe this magnetic delay might be better than a roller locked delay, its definitely more affordable and easier to make

Dude, I don't care about the production versions, that first prototype is how they should've looked coming out of the factory. It looks so much sleekier and sexier. Of course, that stock would probably be a nightmare, but the stock I'm not too attached to. The REST of it... hoo man, it looks good!

I've always thought the original Skorpion was so cool. You can hardly beat it for size. Maybe a micro uzi? Also, I'm probably alone on this, but I like the idea of a super tiny submachine gun that fires .32acp--that makes it very controllable.

The developmental PDW version is barely larger than the Vz61, and it would have been interesting to see it developed into a full production machine pistol/small submachine gun.
