The added backpressure from my suppressor does seem to help the bolt bust through heavy fouling. Of course, a lot of that fouling also comes from running suppressed. I'm honestly not surprised by this. I have an Evo3 and absolutely love the thing but it has REALLY tight clearances between the bolt and the side walls of the receiver. I can imagine just a hand full of pieces of dirt getting on the bolt and causing enough friction to lock it up especially since it's already pretty difficult to charge by hand with that wall you hit about 1/3 of the way out of back (you know what I'm talking about if you have one).

I think it did pretty good realistically. What would be the practical application for such a weapon? Door knocker? Range pet? Home defense? I can’t see this being anyone’s apocalypse gun and it would likely never face such harsh conditions.
Wait a second. Why the disappointment? Has he changed his mind on what constitutes a good or bad performance? It passed the elemental test with no problems at all. When MAC started doing these tests years ago he placed emphasis on the fact that the gauntlet phase was designed to make the guns fail and that he didn’t actually expect the guns to pass the gauntlet. Many of the guns have problems in the first phase of testing, just the elemental test. Namely S&W m&p, vp9, sig 320 compact and p226 legion, and most recently the stribog.
I am still waiting on a gauntlet test of an old school Smith & Wesson pistol like a 5906 or a 4506 or a 1006. Basically something from either the 1st, 2nd or 3rd Gen pistols. I think think you would be pleasantly surprised at the results.

Worked fine. Love mine.
I own one, thankfully the scorpion isn't a weapon that I would use in any scenario where sand, water and dirt would be a factor. For me the scorpion would be best suited for clearing rooms and close quarters city/suburban fighting
So glad to see the gauntlet test back!
great to have the Gauntlet back!
MP5! MP5! Or whatever the semi- version is
Please do a test on the Hk MR762, Scar 17, and maybe even the fn ps90
Saw the follow up video first, then came here. Oh boy this is gonna be good.
Finally another one!! Feels like it’s been 5 years since we’ve seen these test
Enjoy these video! Thanks for doing these.
I'm just here for the comments.
Please add a cold, freezing element. Many operators live in cold climates where -10 F and greater is not uncommon. For example, need a reliable firearm when winter backpacking in the wilderness.
Submerge in water for several minutes and leave in the freezer for 2 hours before testing.
If it gets that cold, my butt isn't leaving the house. From NC where it rarely gets below freezing.
Black Hawk International Security DO NOT ATTACK RUSSIA DURING WINTER!!!! ALL NON RUSSIANS ARE FOOLS FOR HAVING TRIED THIS!
He did a cold test a while back with several platforms all in the same video.
It obviously malfunctioned and would have malfunctioned again in the mud anyway. I cracked up so much at @7:18 if you own a scorpion you would know why.
I'm very surprised. It seems like a pretty well sealed system.
Good morning! Love these tests y'all do Bro.
I don't have a dog in this fight but I wouldn't say it did poorly. It made it thru the first part flawlessly and stopped at the second to the last stage.
Love seeing the gauntlet tests again!
First thing i did was replace the safety lever.... went to the AK style... Nice !!!
when the comment section is more entertaining than the vid above, lul
the fanboyism is so strong on this vid. You all realize that this is just a sample of 1 and not a representation of all CZ scorpion or CZ products.
And that this is meant to in other words break the gun. Them bois be acting like they are going to role around and use there guns to dig in mud or something.
@@Flako92 Exactly! I've never understood this! How often does the average gun owner go jumping around in mud holes?
@@pliskenx51mm83 yeah shits dumb. Worse case you drop it in dirty water lol.
I have literally never heard one bad thing about CZ. Wish i had gotten one before everybody realized how great they are.
Watch ruclips.net/video/kiVIxVK1nmM/видео.html
I'm honestly not surprised by this. I have an Evo3 and absolutely love the thing but it has REALLY tight clearances between the bolt and the side walls of the receiver. I can imagine just a hand full of pieces of dirt getting on the bolt and causing enough friction to lock it up especially since it's already pretty difficult to charge by hand with that wall you hit about 1/3 of the way out of back (you know what I'm talking about if you have one).
Glad to see gauntlet tests aren't just for carry pistols. Let's see more assault rifles
I MISS these vids!
Fist thing every scorpion owner should do upgrade the safety selector, because your right they suck other than that love that gun. Would of liked to see it do better...bummer. still love it
I'm not going to lie: I bought a CZ P-07 based on this test! ...I already had an SP01 so, I just needed a bit of inspiration to add more cars in my CZ train...
The scorpion destroyer:
The Camel Spider 😎🕷
...and when a gun company runs with the idea, it better do better in the gauntlet.
Sold my micro to get a tp9. This video makes me even happier about my decision
I think the Jericho would do pretty well in the gauntlet test.
That water test tho! lol
I think it did pretty good realistically. What would be the practical application for such a weapon? Door knocker? Range pet? Home defense? I can’t see this being anyone’s apocalypse gun and it would likely never face such harsh conditions.
Surprised you haven't done this over 5 years ago Mac.
Oh and also, you are correct Mac, that safety absolutely sucks, if you buy one of these things you have got to swap the safety out
Wait a second.
I thought it would do better too. Still looks really cool though!!
"she's starting to act up already". Lol. After it had been filled with water and sand.
really like this series, thanks
Looking forward to you testing the B&T 9mm and more so the B&T 10mm!!
Love these, keep em coming!
I am still waiting on a gauntlet test of an old school Smith & Wesson pistol like a 5906 or a 4506 or a 1006. Basically something from either the 1st, 2nd or 3rd Gen pistols. I think think you would be pleasantly surprised at the results.
I’m surprised by the outcome of the test considering how well CZ’s usually do. I’m keeping my scorpion though because it’s so dang fun
I've been needing a new gauntlet test in my life
Run an AR and/or Ar pistol through the Gauntlet!!
That's why you replace the safety with an HBI AK style or delete.
You should do a review on the new updated one. I think it’s called a micro.
You just never know how a weapon is going to do until its tested I never thought the Sig 226 would fail but it did anyway the test was fair and the results sad help people to either purchase a good firearm or not.
Awesome! Love these vids. Thanks
Tim, about 3 years ago you posted a video of the Canik TP9 DA, stating that you had planned to run it through the Gauntlet, mainly due to its double strike functionality to see how it would fare with other striker fired guns, but still have yet to see that gun being tested. You did the SF, so whatever happened to doing DA?
Do the CMMG Banshee in 9mm please! :)
This gauntlet confirms and affirms why I will not buy this expensive weapon! Thanks for the confirmation Tim. 👍🏽
Two by two, hands of blue! 😱
Do the APC9k Pro next PLZ
Do the gauntlet test with the PSA AKV, Tim!!
