Ken Howard acted like a real coach. He - and the show - was amazing.

thornbirds the best series a real look on how it is for many women .. thats why you see so many women today being so not classy they are like undefined on their own terms strong but noncaring cold hearted silly because they dont want to end up like those women broken

Ken Howard, the White Shadow was the best of the best on TV at the time, it was so underrated. They don't make shows like this anymore. It was an Authentic program that dealt with life issues & growing pains. Today it was showing on TV brought back good memories.

Great television show. I wished I had a track coach and cross country coach like Ken Reeves. This show aired when I was in elementary school.

For who doesn't know, this series brought basketball to Turkiye's sports scene! A 100% soccer nation became a basketball nation %40?! All kids started playing basketball on streets including myself with whatever basket we could find, standard or made up by parents! 1 TV series created a huge fan and player base in a country which now has NBA players and men's and women's Euroleague champions!
My childhood hero indeed coach Ken Reeves

I absolutely loved this show. Bruce Paltrow developed some great stuff (St. Elsewhere is my favorite show EVER). I remember when The White Shadow went up against Happy Days. I knew it wouldn't last, no matter how superior a show it was...and it didn't. :-(

That really sucked because Happy Days was corny as hell by then.

It's too bad they didn't include the other guys on the team for this interview. Great show, with a basic flaw for its own longevity, we became invested in the original guys, and they either 1) graduate, and you end up not caring about the new guys so the show becomes a shell of its former self, or 2) keep the originals around way longer than they'd be in high school, and it would lose its authenticity.

I was only age 2 when this show came out. I remember while I was little my brother and sister watched it. Then in 1998 I found it on this channel called TV Land. I said to myself “oh I remember my brother & sister watched this” and I learned about the show.
