All of this falls on Tony's shoulders because he let this go on right in front of his face, not once, but more than twice, so what did he think was going to happen when someone like CM Punk who has alot of baggage to begin with is allowed to run rough shot over the entire locker room because he knows his boss can't run a wrestling promotion without his friends acting as his enforcers who are wrestlers themselves. Blame Punk, blame the bucks, and blame Omega and the legal teams all you want because I'm placing blame on Tony's shoulders because again, he's a wimp and if he can't keep his troops in line, he might as well throw himself on the firing line and let AEW go the way WCW ended up doing.
Punk screwed Punk I have no sympathy for him whatsoever. Punk used to be my hero, he spoke alotta stuff about how crumby WWE was and got me back in. Flashforward and now he's given everything he wanted, he got that spotlight he wanted in WWE and threw it away. No sympathy. FRAGILE EGO FRAGILE BODY FRAGILE MIND
It came out that Colt Cabana and his brother (a popular TV writer) both have accounts shared with their mother to help her out. Punk knew that and skewed it to talk trash. Booker on the money about Punk being classless for that.
While many of your thoughts on CM Punk were fine, you use Dave Meltzer's news reporting as fact. We know how much he has hated Punk and been apart of The Elite, more or less.
I can’t agree with Booker T, no acknowledgement of the things done to CM Punk to make him react the way he did. CM Punk has not talked about Colt Cabana until the scrum, The youngbucks bs and running to meltzer. Adam Page goes into business for himself FIRST! He reacts and he’s unprofessional. That’s wild. When you’re grown man amongst children it ain’t gonna work. Tony Khan allowed this to happen. Punk taking a shot at WWE. ThIs is wrestling! For Booker T being apart of the Monday night wars it’s a cop out to say Punk should have done that. Like Booker didn’t have a nonchalant attitude in his TNA run. Please stop the biased reporting. Love Booker T but if you gonna talk about it, talk about it all.
Because all the things done to CM Punk to make him react that way, don't matter.... Punk can not like who and whatever he wants, but if he's now multiple times physically assaulting his coworkers, he's done. How he feels doesn't matter, how he's justified his actions in his head, doesn't matter.

The media scrum, punk says anyone who has a problem can come see me. I don't even think it's that. It's because NOBODY fears Tony Khan. Say what you will about how Vince runs things. But he commanded respect and everyone was terrified of crossing him because your career is practically in his hands. There's plenty of blame to go around. A good chunk of it goes to Punk for just not knowing how to deal with conflicts. But the majority of it goes to Tony Khan for not getting a handle on this asap.

I don’t really know why I watched this. I’m a big fan of Booker, the wrestler, but Booker, the commentator, I don’t really agree with on numerous topics. 🤷🏽♂️ it is what it is
The thing that gets to me is people aren’t looking at the situation as a whole and solely blaming punk for this while not addressing the main issue. AEW is suffering due to locker room discord. You’re getting the whole clique toxicity. I can understand punk getting frustrated at having groups of people coming at him with seemingly no intervention by the bosses to nip it in the bud. AEW is pulling what WCW did back in the day which is a major factor that doomed them by letting the inmates run the show. One thing booker brought up that I agree on was bringing up the locker room court. Getting a leader in that locker room that has no biases that can root out these dissensions and issues is what is needed.
I like Booker a lot more than I like Punk. I want that to be known. I don't think that they were fair to Punk in this video. Punk is a hot head who always over reacts. It's important to remember that he "reacts". This video broke down every dumb thing that Punk said or did but failed to mention what Punk was dealing with in the AEW locker room. The Elite and their friends are the modern Kliq. If they do not like you they will find a way to push you out of the building. Punk's gone, Cody is gone. Who's next?
looking way too deep into this, man. Cody has a ton of love and respect to the Bucks even still. CM Punk is just out of control with a big ego. I say this as a fan of Punk.
@MAYUTHEUNDEAD bro, Cody said himself that him and the bucks would butt heads. Cody wanted jim cornette wrestling, and young bucks wanted outlaw mudshow wrestling. Why couldn't they have both. WCW had two types of wrestling. Why couldn't AEW. So Cody decided it wasn't worth it and left to a professional environment.
@user-vk3oy9px8e excuse me, I caught myself after reading your pathetic response. I meant to say jim crockett and no one corrected me. No wonder the dirt sheets get away with so much. You guys believe anything. Marks just upset that CM Punk exposed your heroes. Go cry me a river. Go cry in your mansions.
Punk is definitely an interesting individual, but he never truly went on the offensive during his time in aew. All of these incidents were simply him responding to things that were done to him. I would have reacted exactly the same way
Darby Allen never the top young kid in that company it’s been MJF & it ain’t even close. But Darby working all this time with Sting is massive for his career In retrospect. Because he’ll always be associated with that legend or the rub from being close with him in his early days.
You guys conveniently forgot the part where Page went into business for himself and accused Punk of getting Colt Cabana fired (and he didn't), before Punk did, but keep it going.
@@bobsucks9647it is technically going into business for yourself when Page never ran the line by Punk beforehand. It also was a complete fabrication that even Tony Kahn shot the rumor down.
@@JoeChillton Or Page could have brought it up to Punk before bringing it up on live television. Page- "Hey, man did you actually get my friend fired/moved to ROH?" Punk-"No." Case solved. I agree that everything should have been handled better that's why I %100 blame the guy running the promotion.
You can’t really call out cm punk for taking a shot at wwe when he debut when AEW’s whole gimmick is “hey we’re not wwe” and their stars would take shots every chance they got.
Lol I like how they leave out everything the elite did to him . They just say he took a shot at hangman .. WHY did he do that ? Left out important info
Love Booker but it seems like the Elite & others (Jericho, Hardy’s, Cabana) in the locker room didn’t want Punk there from the get go. They leaked negative stories to the press and it obviously got inside his head and Punk couldn’t handle it. A lot of things stem from Tony Khan’s poor management and his lack of leadership. If he had resolved the issues, there was serious money to be made.
Yeah, I agree. CM Punk calling out Cabana and his mom. Man, that just lets me know the type of person Punk is. You don't talk about people's moms especially when you knew them and probably broke bread with them. Smh. Khan did the right thing. It should have been done the first time.
He cursed out a fan on air for yelling Cabana's name and went off on a tirade because a fan had a Hangman sign. Punk likes to say what he wants but cannot take it when it is thrown back at them. I don't like the Elite, and they have documented issues, but people like them want to ignore them. But many people want to be on the side when they are not great.
Don't be so one side guys. I know that you are completely biased against Punk but consider both sides. Some other facts: poor management...Tony is soft. Talent should not be evp's. Hangman went into business for himself and started shooting on Punk over a year ago. Jungle boy went off script not to get heat but to stir up Punk. The elite followed up on the media scrum knocked on Punk door knowing that there would trouble. I know that Punk takes majority of the blame, but others do as well. There are always more sides to the story, don't be so biased. Just a side note, Punk said Colt shares an account with his mother. That's not a knock on the mother...you painted it out to look like he slandered her. C'mon give the whole story.

This video is very one sided. I agree with a lot of what was said about punk. But the boo hoo bucks, and pint sized Perry are at fault too. It takes two to tango. They started everything. And then to talk about wrestlers court being needed... a old school wrestler who would be judge would be on punks side. Respect the vets. Old school. Who are the bucks anyway? Booker said it best on a recent episode - Punk didn't have the respect of the AEW locker room. You can buy into whatever belief you want about backstage politics, but Punk was a ticking time bomb. If it wasn’t Jack's comment (that really didn't call out Punk by name, even), it would've been something else. Dude needs some help with his mental health.
@@DevoJetBoy8680 When you have 2 physical altercations in the span of a year, and even "lunge" at your boss (agreed on some level by all accounts), that's not a stable reaction. Even people with more knowledge than you or I (like Nash) have suggested Punk is clearly going through something. No one else is reacting the way he is in AEW. I say this as a fan of him, because he's an asset to pro wrestling - but he's a paranoid/polarizing self-saboteur and that has been consistent for his entire career. Principled to a fault which some love him for, but it's not sustainable if he is trying to attack his own boss.
I kindly disagree with Book. Tony had an absolute obligation to go out there and face the music. Chicago is Punk's backyard. Much of the sales were directly related to Punk. All of this began and continued to go on because of his lack of leadership.
On things neither Booker nor has his co-host mentioned, as well as others in the internet community perhaps this has more to do with Tom Khan’s relationship with the Elite. Maybe that’s the driving force why Cody left for WWE. Maybe CM Punk tried to challenge the way they were doing business by being in Tony’s ear.
Glad to hear Booker speaking the truth, Phil was a cancer to the locker room. All Out was a much better show without him, it felt like everyone was on the same page again, the vibes are back!!
27:22 What is the common denominator with all those names? They all tried to violate CM Punk. Jungle Boy disrespected theAEW Officials on CM Punk’s show Collission. Christopher Daniels was in the group of people who broke into CM Punk’s lockerroom. And Regal did end up being a the SPY for WWE and Triple H… He is a Vice President for WWE for goodness sake. CM Punk has always been who he claimed to be…he is a guy who STANDS UP for himself. Good or Bad. He isn’t going to roll over and die.
Im a Punk fan and he needed to be let go I felt like he was trying to be above the company. Tk bent over backwards for Punk, gave him his own show "Collision", gave him the belt, let him pick and choose who he could work with. Respect to Tk for making a tough decision hopefully it's a wake up call for Tk and the locker room. Booker said it best on one of the previous streams. The locker room lost a lot of respect for Punk after that media scrum last year.
You're not a Punk fan. The giveaway is the qualifier of "I'm a Punk fan". We'll I'm not the man is being railroaded by the AEW bitches and there stupid, unwashed fanbase.
Yet the elite and there peeps are somehow innocent. TK could've squashed this from the beginning but he showed no balls until he was finally backed against the wall. I completely understand Punk's irritation. It sucks he didn't take the high road but i get it. He realized TK wasn't gonna do shit about his talent. Punk doesn't need aew or wwe for thar matter. I wouldn't be surprised if Punk comes up with a lawsuit.
Being realistic it’s hard to listen to Booker because he was yes man and Punk is a stand up man. Booker nature is to accept whatever, like he did when he was in Wwe should’ve been a champion more. And coming from a attitude era and not being real? Mark Henry said it best, And Booker is a conflict of interest because he doesn’t like him. Mark was being real Booker just trolling . But, it would funny if the Evps kicked down Bookers door or left him at the airport maybe Book would have a open mind then. What’s amazing is I can’t think of anyone that thin that was able to get the level that CM PUNK got to. Too many guys so much bigger and better. Punk is great on the Mike that’s it 😐
All these carnies do. People say CM Punk is a villan. No he is the most real out all these phonies. Atleast CM Punk actually wanted to draw money for Tony Khan not steal money and go to WWE like all of his other employees
Gonna have to disagree with Book. He and Batista got into it, Jericho and Goldberg got into it, no one got fired. TK didn't have to fire Punk. Punk agreed to meet with the Elite, meeting canceled last minute. They cancel his transportation in London, Punk gets lost. The Perry goes into business for himself on TV, of course Punk was pissed!! I agree with Cornette, TK got played like a fiddle
Collision was a Punk show and it was the best wrestling programm among WWE and AEW shows. It least it had credible matches, that made sense. Firing your biggest star, that draws you biggest money is at least not smart. Perry is a jobber, why Tony didn`t fire him? Because he is a stooge for the Matty and Nicky. AEW signs all this wrestlers like Joe, Danielson, Cole, Cesaro and and now they are midcarders at best, it reminds me Bret Hart`s run in WCW. You guys are leaving out so much context as it pertains to Punks run in AEW. The Elite were jealous and spreading rumors about Punk. He reacted. We don’t get to choose how people react. They “kicked his door down.” They fucked around and found out. And every since then they were waiting to get him out. Every single conflict Punk had in AEW came from the same group of people. AEW asked him to confront Jungle Boy about using real glass. And Jungle Boy had a problem with it. Even the London fiasco. The guy who was in responsible for travel was friends with the elite and was caught on Twitter liking negative tweets about him. Then he gets to the arena and hears Jungle Boys comment. When Tony was sitting right there. The real problem here is Tony letting the inmates run the asylum.
Don't agree with your take on this Punk was indeed the biggest star in aew Had an excellent fued with mjf which you ignored He can cut a promo better than almost everyone in aew
At the end of the day, Punk likes to talk about people and run his mouth, but he cannot seem to take it when directed back at him. And for all the ringwork fanatics, if they are keeping it absolute, Punk cannot leave his feet anymore without possibly injuring himself, and he could not move Joe around with cooperation. Punk might be overcompensating all of the backstage stuff to compensate for his deficiencies in the ring.
I feel like aew lost the trust in the fans and all of these things makes Tony Khan look like shit 😂 the guy acts like a fab than a boss when cm punk came i thought aew could get better now i lost all hope in the company

I don't understand the perspective everyone has with punk. I think a lot of it is due to their personal dislike for him. Regardless of who he is as a person, he was not wrong in attacking the elite publicly, and he was not wrong in attacking them physically either. They were using Meltzer to smear his name for months before he finally reacted to it. They went five deep into his locker room. He had every right to throw the first punch. It came out that Colt Cabana and his brother (a popular TV writer) both have accounts shared with their mother to help her out. Punk knew that and skewed it to talk trash. Booker on the money about Punk being classless for that.

They went into his room after he made a public challenge. If he didn't want them in there, then why did he make the challenge? 😅
Exactly. Those three men are executive vice-presidents of the company. Members of managers fighting with their talent. They never wanted Punk in AEW.

Punk’s fault 100 for in-sighting a fight but where is the accountable for the E.V.P’s who came to that man’s locker room and actually started the fight and got their asses whooped. As a member of the office you to your point should have taken the higher road but didn’t! Again if your gonna apply it to one, apply it to all
Crazy to think the reason this stuff doesn’t happen at WWE is because Taker created wrestlers court.

AEW will not allow fans to bring signs into the arena that disparage Jack Perry for getting CM Punk fired.
Who's next?

They leaked negative stories to the press and it obviously got inside his head and Punk couldn’t handle it. A lot of things stem from Tony Khan’s poor management and his lack of leadership. If he had resolved the issues, there was serious money to be made.

Truth.
He cursed out a fan on air for yelling Cabana's name and went off on a tirade because a fan had a Hangman sign. Punk likes to say what he wants but cannot take it when it is thrown back at them.
