First of all, Mr. Connelly, if you're out there, I'm sorry I butchered your solo.
By request. I really don't mind at all because this is a song that I intended to tackle at some point earlier on but because of some problems that I'll illustrate later, I chose a different route. I think I did fight to be free instead.
I've made clear about my love and devotion for this album, this track being its namesake. Here's the rundown. Rhythmically speaking it's relatively simple if not loud fast and thrashing. You're picking hand will either love you or hate you for this. My trouble came when it was time to learn the leads. Anthony's in particular was extremely troublesome but the fast passages at the end of John's lead was also problematic. What do I mean by difficult or problematic? Washed out almost entirely in the mix. You can hear the rhythms behind the leads more clearly than you can hear the leads in these places. For me, figuring out these leads note for note with total accuracy was a next to impossible job. So what I wound up doing here was just the best I could; making interpretations and educated guesses in the places that I legitimately could not hear what was going on. I hope my approximation is acceptable for you fine folks out there.

What a most excellent thing to wake up to today! Despite the challenges with the leads, it was fantastic.
Also sad to see that Greeny/Chip couldn't make an appearance - but fortunately you have a plethora of suitable replacements.

Yes a veritable myriad, my dude. Chip will be recommissioned soon and I can finish tackling the other 2 projects I want done before June ends.
As you can see, I still had challenges with the leads, though Anthony's went far better that John's this time and that kind of came as a surprise, but I was on my 4th take playing that through and I thought, "What the hell. 4 is enough".
Thanks again for lending a hand with the demo, so critical to the rhythms in the verses.
