- Just a showcase of Kelly's best belted notes from 2012 to May 2013. This includes her tours, Duets, TV appearances, other shows, and everything in between. I hope you like it! I do not claim ownership of any of the material in this video
she's like one of the few singers who haven't strained their voices too much over the years and who can genuinely still sing live flawlessly. Love her.
I realize I'm kind of off topic but do anyone know a good place to watch newly released tv shows online?
Every couple of months I go on a Kelly binge and remember how underrated and phenomenal of a vocalist she is.
Yeah, her E5's and F#5 were AWESOME!!!
THIS BITCH SLAYS ME EVERY TIME SHE OPEN HER MOUTH!
Her career is almost 20 years and her voice is still amazing😍❤️
Her ease blows everybody away!!!!
This has been here best era for sure. Definitely a lot more consistent nowadays. Love her!
She is out of this world.
Her E5's this year >>> 9:50 and 10:10 were amazing. Great video!
she is amazing
she shines at F#5
love the quality almost as much as her belts :)
SHE IS THE BEST EVER
She is amazing!!
I've always loved her G#5 in "You Don't Know Me", too
Phenomenal absolutely.... what I don't understand is... She hits that F#5 note a lot and sustains it a lot too and sings phrases up there and everything... Why doesn't she hit it in Behind These Hazel Eyes anymore... I can't find any other live performance where she hits the F#5 note in that song other than her acoustic one... I really don't get it cuz that's a very important note in the song and she just always skips it, yet here she's slapping F#5 all the time like it's nothing.
I believe that she doesn't do that F#5 anymore in BTHE because the rhythm of the music is fast and the song is on a higher key than it was originally recorded. The lowest note in the live versions is higher than a F#3, so the highest would also be higher, and she sings on a really high register for almost half of the song before the moment when she would have to reach that high note, and there wouldn't be a moment for her to breath and then hit it properly. You can also note that the VH1 acoustic performance is slower than the studio version of the song. I hope I helped you. Bye.
Good point. But, why not just sing the original keys then? I did notice that most live versions were a few steps higher. But still, this is one of the best vocalists ever. This woman can hit so many consistant high notes. She did do the note live once besides the VH1 acoustic session. And it was perfect! She has a very rare ability to have that much stamina in her upper register. I think she just gets scared maybe... Or maybe she's had some health issues idk... Hopefully not. She does this with Already Gone as well... But there she always lowers the kid when the song sounds beautiful in it's original key.
Icy Blue I believe that the original keys make her offkey during the lower points on BTHE, so she raises it to make everything more comfortable. It is easier to hit the lower and higher notes in a slower compass and BTHE is far from slow lol. Things get a little tricky because with Since U Been Gone she used to lower the key to sing it in the same range of Behind These Hazel Eyes, so I do believe that because Since U Been Gone is just a little bit slower than BTHE and she does not push her voice that much in the fisrt as she does in the later. Popular singers tend to make thing the most comfortable, Mariah Carey almost everytime since ever lower Emotions, and Carrie Underwood raised the key on one of the tracks on The Sound of The Music to hit easily the head voice notes, so each song has its own problems and each singer deals with it the way it makes them sing better. Personal example: I am a baritone, so I have a natural lowish voice, but I do have to raise the key on some songs, like Talking Body (Tove Lo) or R U Mine? (Arctic Monkeys) if I want to stay in key the whole song. The low notes aren't that low (those are A2 or something in that region), but I have to hit them really fast after a really long moment singing high, or I have to sing them for long period, making me lose my breath. And I also raise the key in Wonderwall because I don't want to sound boring the whole song lol. Sometimes I lower the key, like in Underneath the Tree, but if I do this in Wrapped in Red I will be mishitting notes in both extremes, so the best to do is looking for other notes and other arrangements, and I can do this because I'm a popular singer, if I was a classical one I should stay under my vocal type and the original melody and so on. Hope I helped you. Bye!:)
omg, that was so good! Thanks for putting that together. ♥
amazing kelly..
Amazing.
crying
Great video! Awesome belts! :D
really love the quality of your videos :)
Love!
8:41 goddddaaaaaamnnnn!!! Where is that F#5 from???? Please anyone!!! So emotional!!!!
A year later, but it's from the I Know You Won't cover she did while on her Stronger tour in 2012.
The one that ends around 11:27 is a performance of "All You Need Is Love" she did at a corporate event last year, Keith Urban and a few others were also in it
The 1 dislike is still there, wonder if that person is still alive.
The persons below talking about what vocal box to put her in are completely wrong: If she continues to specifically train her voice to be more powerful, and hones her technique, she can be as good as she wants to be.
She already had and continues to have the best voice in the industry
@@unpopulartea1220 There's nothing wrong with believing that, but I was making a statement of fact, not opinion.
@@CharityRivers So are you saying that if someone hasn't sold 30 million records, then he's objectively not good?
I know you don't believe that, so why would you make that argument?
I also think it's interesting that you're responding to me harshly when I'm actually _complimenting_ her, and saying that she could even get _better_ if she _wants_ to, and that furthermore, she cannot be placed in a vocal box because she can break any of the barriers that one thinks she has, except perhaps becoming a male baritone.
What's your objection to that?
@@CharityRivers I did state an objective fact. If she trains to improve, she will improve. That's how humans work. Google that mess.
I met her when she was with the pops
It’s just that when we talk about the “push” spinto voices make, we tend to think of it as a natural thing; a characteristic of the vocal fach.
damn! who lets the stereo on!
ahh i should have haha that's a great idea!
+1 I have no idea!
yeah as lightningshock12 put it, it was a little bit flat and shaky, i guess she just approached it wrong. she's hit it much better in other performances that have come after this video was made haha
Kelly's not a spinto. Her voice is not dark at all! She is, without a doubt, a lyric soprano.
Well, as a matter of fact, there's a chance of her being a light-lyric. It's just that I don't usually use the terms "full-lyric" and "light-lyric" unless I'm really sure about what I'm talking about.
The higher notes, F5s, E5s, etc, sound like she's pulling up her larynx. It's making her sound like she's sliding up to it as well.
tamar has maintained amazing G#5's as well im sure u know and her ease is out of this world
Where's the clip at 8:50 from?
Anyone know where 12:30 is from??PLEASEEEE
vh1 divas
That's okay; I also question a lot... And yes, it can be quite tricky to understand the exact meaning of "pushed" as in "pushed-lyric". That's why I don't think about that term; I like to think of lyric-spinto, derived from the original Italian term "lirico-spinto", which, in my opinion, is a lot better to be understood. By the way, even spinto voices can make an unhealthy push in their voices. You know, ANYONE can push, whether it's healthy or not...
Hey how come you didn't include the big not she did in People Like Us on Idol? It was a F#5 right?
The "push" in spinto voices implies that it's pushed in accordance to a healthy technique. I mean, we can say a spinto voice may be pushing too much and that it's too much forced. IN THAT CONTEXT, we’re not talking about the normal "push" made to achieve a dramatic climax; the voice is merely relying on bad production of the sound...
Yes, but it can also be used in a general sense of the term. And when talking especially about spinto voices, the "push" we're talking about is meant to be NATURAL.
Now, if we say a straight-up lyric voice, which is SMALLER in size, is pushing, then it probably means that voice is putting an amount of volume that it's too big for that voice...
Just stop arguing yall!
Kelly's the best!
nuff said?
At 12:37 , is a G#5 , no ? =s
A lot of the upper belts sound strained/throaty, but there some good ones too! She's great.
What's the performance at 11:27?
Where is the 13:13 clip with John Legend from???
Snesh! From the show Duets they performed a song called You Don’t Know Me
What is the performance of "Never Again" after 11:15?
brazil pop music festival
so many F#5 hahaha
when did she hit a G5 in SUBG again? was that when she went to the childrens hospital?
What's the difference between F5 & F#5?
I think F#5 is a semi-tone higher than F5.
I didn't say she was a light-lyric; I only said lyric. I didn't specify whether she's a light-lyric or a full-lyric.
Does anyone know the song from :22-36?
Nick Meehl - Breathe me cover. Written by Sia.
11:37 looks like demi!
Songname 4:32 ?
Someone like you
Her voice is not as big as a spinto. Actually, her voice is nowhere near as big as a spinto; besides, her vocal weight and timbre are not as heavy and warm as such. The only reason you think she's a spinto is because she pushes her voice to dramatic climaxes. However, if you notice, she struggles when she tries to put too much volume in her voice.
song 2:49 - 4:02?
the first one is bc of ya
Yet, they can still summon their fortissimo and give it a more dramatic sound. HOWEVER, they REALLY need to watch out not to rely on bad technique; they need to be careful not to compress or give the sound a raspy quality, because IT’S NOT healthy! If someone, possessing a smaller-sized voice, intends to venture on heavy passages, they must KNOW THEIR LIMITS and realize when to stop; otherwise, they will surely damage their voice... I hope I made myself clear! :)
TheDarkSongbird A liitle late but do you have a link for that performance?
min 13:44
She is definitely talented but to me her belting notes sound so forced and rough. Christina's belts sound a bit smoother and less forced. Just my opinion.
What the fuck?!
Christina literally yells.
Are you serious? You can still take it back.
I think you're talking Christina lol 😂
She's amazing!
Love!
