    Those were the days. I saw Tony Blackburn once in his E-Type jag in Portland Place, although I doubt he saw me. Seems like a lifetime ago now.

      How cool! I saw him once in the QVC studios - he was paying great attention to the briefing he was being given of the features and benefits of the next product line he was due to be selling. It seemed a far cry from working at the Beeb. Glad he's back.

    Amazing to hear Tony's voice at the start of his career. He sounded so shy! He really became a polished confident DJ by the time he began his programme on Radio One, didn't he?

    The other DJ would be Mike Allen. Tony Allan worked on Caroline in the 70s.

    I was a North fan/listener... I even had the Radio Caroline radio made by Benkson.
