I actually love how they don't even walk around much on stage. They play their music, the thing everyone came for, and it's so amazing they don't need distractions or side shows to be fully engaging. It says a lot about their music in general, theres just so much to listen to.
Yes and it's awful...they proove that algebra is not music, just brain masturbation...no groove, no feeling, no spirit, just complexity. Sad, so much efforts and training for such a pathetic result. Sorry I don't get it.
@@fredtrax4574 I can see what you mean...when I first heard them I didn't get it at all, it just sounded like complex noise...but eventually something clicked at some point and then I couldn't stop listening to them for some reason. There really is a ton of feeling in this music I've found, it's just not the kind of feeling with the "grooves that we're used to". I've found with AAL, if you allow yourself to "turn off your expected sense of rhythm for what you're hearing" and allow their sense time/rhythm/space to take you on their journey, it can really take you somewhere else because they are really doing things not many musicians are doing and furthering the art is what it's all about! The more complex and intricate the parts you play, the more essential it becomes to be as relaxed as possible while playing. The simpler the part, the more you can afford to expend superfluous energy.

Christina Applegate once told Ron Burgandy she had more talent in her one little finger, that Ron's whole body. Tosins thumb must have heard that and was inspired
AAL reminds me of when Gabe shared his music with Andy, and he explains it as one split second of a song stretched out over an infinite time. AAL just did it with a split second of a metal song.
Dude playing bass and guitar like no other haters be will. Like see 90% of these dudes probably couldn't even try on first note. And be solid as fuck. Respect from a bassist. Makes me wanna play harder.
Effectively AAL turned the bit at the start of band practice where everyone just plays whatever the f**k want at the same time .... into a touring band.
Not complicated enough... just kidding, these guys are amazing, I love tosins thumps madness, so much I may have to sever my own thumb and have doctors re attach it at well over a 90 degree reverse bend.. seriously though, never seen a thumb bend like that ever before aol. Havier is no slouch either, and their drummer ( can't remember his name, please enl8ghten me ) is beyond amazing.
Hey dude! Their drummer is Matt Garstka. He's one of the best drummers of this era imo. Also, you don't need a 90 degree thumb to thump like that. Check out Andrew Bent on RUclips, he's an amazing guitarist too. Cheers!
If you are a purist rock and roll guy or a Metalhead. This sound that they're making out of the guitar would irritate the F out of you! It's like they're driving with their feet alternating on the gas and the brake at the same time. This is the Trap version of hard rock metal music.🤘I like !✊👏👏👏
I saw it from a couple of views during the performances. I can confirm it’s a Line 6 Helix Floor. A bunch of scribble strips, large screen, knob placement, an attached expression pedal, and a scribble strip above the expression pedal. I’ve seen Tosin attach an HX Stomp to his pedal rig before, so I wouldn’t doubt he would use a Helix for a light version of his full rig. Eventhoouuugh he has used Axe FX.
