I love this! i like the wartime mood. it helps me study and write... this is absolutely perfect. might i suggest an addition that i personally would enjoy. inserting various modern combat sounds from soft to very soft. ingoing and outgoing fire from artillery and small arms. Possibly muffled shouts and and maybe a tank rolling near and the fire can get more constant and closer. for screams... slowly the explosion's, gunfire and ricochets subside. leaving the original distant combat sounds but with the crackling of a near by burning building which collapses from time to time. i think that would make for a great soundscape. thank you!
The STALKER games and the older film Stalker are based on a fantastic Soviet-era sci-fi novel called "Roadside Picnic" by the Strugatsky brothers. This audiovisual piece is a great match for the surreal and disconcerting vibe of the novel, which is a favorite of mine. It would be a good one to read while you are recovering, David. I recommend it to everyone here!

When the Chernobyl catastrophe has occurred, we were living in the same one country. Actually I was born that year, and my father escaped the "cleaning off that mess" somehow. Few moutns ago russian forces tried to "take & conquer" this zone, because it's very close to Kyiv. But very soon they had no choise but to leave this place - their commanders don't give a damn about the hazardous danger of radiation. They had dig in the "Red forest" - and it was the biggest & last mistake in their life. They drink water, they eat food and they slept in this zone. After that - they ALL and everyone have died in Belarus hospital.
