How to Remove 09-14 Yamaha R1 Exhaust

In preparation for my aftermarket exhaust install, I wanted to show you all how to uninstall the stock exhaust on a 2009 Yamaha R1. This tutorial should work for the 09-14 R1.
It's fairly straightforward and shouldn't take you more than 30 minutes (unless you have screw issues like I had the first time I did this.
I'll add hex wrench sizes here soon.

Were those stock pipes heavy? There's usually a huge weight difference between the stock pipes and the aftermarket ones.
Ive just done my exhaust and there is no need to take the white plastic off. You can fit a spanner in no probs.

nice vid! just wondering if you have had any overheating problems with the r1 i have an 09 r1 and while in traffic the temp gets up to 230-240
Mine never gets above 230 unless I really try lol

Mine has only risen above 230 once. I was in traffic and just pulled into a gas station and turned it off at around 228 degrees put a few bucks of gas in it and turned it on and it was about 245 and flashing red temp light but the fan and cooling system kicked on when I started it and took it back down to normal within 15-30 seconds. It does heat up and ride hotter than my ZX6R though that's for sure.

Should have tied your bike down, wrapped a chain around the exhaust, attached chain to your truck, and pulled it off. Much more interesting way to do it ;)
