This two trucks was used by the Swedish air force.
They was use for troop transport and moving suplys with material.
The was purchaed by the military back in 1981 and used to 2006
Some of the was in service as late as 2016.

the first one you reviewed appears to be a 1982 or newer utility bed model, since it has no brow over the windshield. the 8 wheel studs are standard on all 3/4 ton trucks. it was common between civilian
J20s and Ford, GM, and Dodge 3/4ton axles. 8 studs on 6.5" diameter circle. The "5.9 liter" or 360 cubic inch engine was very weak by 1979 in US Jeep trucks. They increased somewhat to around 150 horsepower.
The second model is unique to you guys and maybe a few other foreign nations. I think. The US never adopted the closed bed, troop carrier model which AMC/Jeep sold overseas. It seems a pretty useful bed to have for transporting a lot of guys through semi-bad roads. However, all my Jeep J20s would get easily high centered in super deep snow. They ride lower than the Chevy, Ford, and Dodge 4 wheel drive trucks of that time, and even more now.
The heavier duty "Saginaw" steering gearbox was common on all J20s and GM and possibly Dodge used them too. They were better than Ford power steering systems.
Transmissions were built by Chrysler -the "Torquflight 727", 3 speed automatic. Gear ratios were similar to the previously used General Motors "Turbo-hydramatic 400" transmissions. 2.5:1 first gear. 1.5:1 second gear. 1:1 third gear.
Transfer case was a New Process (now New Venture Gear - a division of Chrysler) model 208. They were fair for medium duty off-roading.
Trying to get parts can be tricky. These Jeeps havent been made since 1987. A few parts (mainly from under the hood) from a Grand Wagoneer will also work in the Jeep trucks. But i'm not sure about specific military parts.

@@framfull i got proof, saw one carrying missles at a road base.. And i saw around 10 of them at an exercise
I think you need to buy one. You seem very excited like a kid in a candy store when you drive the jeep. I have a civilian J20 here in the states with a plow. Looking to convert it to diesel or dropping a hemi into it. Time will tell.
I have a 82 j20 gladiator. Mine is civilian model.

ärligt talat så blir jag osäker nu av din kommentar, kan gott och väl vara så.... Jag gjorde lite research innan men det kan blivit lite fell..
Fet bil oavsett skulle gärna vilja äga en, men dem är dyra och soppan just nu ska vi inte tala om, ångest på hög nivå varje gång man ska tanka sin super snåla disel som en gån var miljöbil för att åka 14 mil till och från Jobb..
Dana 44HD fram och Dana 60 bak.
