You are so wise beyond your years Amanda and so great to listen to. I am a 71 year old father and grandfather and just love listening to you. Merry Christmas and happy camping in the new year.

Merry Christmas, be happy, if you can’t, at least let other people be happy! 🎄🤶 🎅 ✨
I was at Quartzsite last January and it was a great experience. I met a lot of nice people, the town was actually better than I expected (a few more stores, etc), and it really isn't that big of a deal to drive a bit for bigger stores. However, it isn't Disneyland, you are living in the desert using a bucket or pit toilet and you have to be careful with water. I would definitely go again.
Hello, Amanda, nice to see you here! Good video! I am so happy to see you addressing this issue. Only having been able to get there once I really fell in love with it! I met AWESOME people and had a great time! You made excellent points, including about arming yourself and developing a group of camp friends. Have a beautiful and blessed New Year, and have safe travels. 🙏 LUCRETIA
Quartzsite reminds me of the little town that I was raised in actually it was the smaller town than quartzsite when I was there as a kid I think my town only had like 1300 people in it. We had a small grocery store in town and a little corner store uptown but that was it you had to go out of town if you wanted anything else
I think I'd be more concerned about a guy that beat the crap out of someone and broke his jaw! wow...not sure that was a good move. 🤷 thanks for the comments!
Thank you Amanda for this very honest & informative video. I have Quartzite on my mind for my next van travelling adventure.❤Happy you are part of that community, older people there must have a lot of respect for you.
Thanks for another great video. I'm sure you're likely to meet all kinds of people in Quartzsite, just like everywhere else. I've never enjoyed or believed what I call the "doomsday" videos. It's what you make of it no matter where you are.😊
great video!.. just got back in november from 1st time at quartzite and loved it. just always be cautious and all is good. can't wait to return in 2024.
Great advice as always ~ Your outlook on things is so great and positive 😊 Agree with your thoughts so much ~ it’s really nice that you share these things with people ~ AND ~ very nice glasses 👓 Wishing you and Wynston a Very Merry Christmas 🎄
Hello. Amanda, Yes no matter where we go… there’s Good and Bad everywhere. I would like to travel across the country… but I’d like some what of a caravan/convoy. Hope to see you guys late January/February…🎁❣️🎄🌵✨❄️Season’s Greetings
I like how you are analyzing the Quartzsite culture Amanda! I want to suggest that the person who wrote about the town and settlement being a drug den is projecting. Everyone projects up to a point and it's important to know when we as individuals project our feelings on others.
I go to quartzsite often, just to get away from OC….I’ve never had an encounter with drug culture ….just the beggars at loves look a bit scetchy in January……👀🇺🇸🕊
As you mentioned there are all sorts of ppl EVERYWHERE! If at any time campers who are In Quartzite (or anywhere for that matter) and feel uncomfortable they can just simply leave. I certainly wouldn’t want to stay if I’m not enjoying the atmosphere/the crowd. Anyway, Amanda I’m wishing you, Wynston and your family a very Merry Christmas.
Love the new glasses!! Merry Christmas 🎄☃️🎁 And it does not matter where you are. Drugs are everywhere. They don’t discriminate against rich or poor, gender or race. They are everywhere. Just say no.
Was there a few months ago i was not in the correct mind and new to vanlife spent a month there now im in palm beach florida but im prob gonna go to utah eventually cuz no governent control there 🤙🏻
Thank you for this video. My first time watching and im greatfull you gave a both sides of it. And real both sides. You didnt try to hide some of it. It was real talk. Not to age my self lol but your about my grandkids age. And i was considering going camper life out that way. Im now thinking id rather be where i am. It was a real toss up tween stayn rest my days here or going out in the camper life again. Keep enjoying life. You get my age it feels like you have blinked and its time to go.
I've been doing the full time vanlife thing for five years now. You are correct. RVing takes up the whole socio economic spectrum. From very wealthy to people who are a short step away from sleeping under a bridge. It is just life I guess. Aside from weed have I never seen people use harder drugs but I'm sure it is out there. Also during the winter the RV community descends on southern AZ ,so we are kind of corralled into a fairly small space and then socio issues can be a bit more "compressed". For the most part these are great people.
Great video Amanda. I want you to known that I started following your channel because I find your videos fun and informative, I didn't even notice your piercings until much later. Merry Christmas to you and Wynston,
Nice assessment. Between the location (on a major thoroughfare), and the sheer number of people who descend on the town in the winter, you’re bound to get some people who aren’t your style. But they do tend to cluster in groups and locations. As Bob Wells says, if you find you don’t like your neighbors, just turn the key and drive to a different spot where the people are more to your liking.
This year was my first year visiting Quartzsite. I was just getting a feel for the place, learning how to get a pass, where things were at, what I need to bring, so I only stayed a couple of weeks. Anyways I was in La Posa South and one night around 11pm some guy walks in my campsite asking if I have any drugs or meth to sell him lol. So must have been the same guy before he got his jaw relocation. Other than that it was pretty chill and I will probably head back early Jan or try again next year.
I boondocked in Quartzite in the 1970s and 1980s and it was so wonderful, nice clean people, big rigs, wonderful community. Now I pop over now and then and it's scary there with the dirty, drugged out campers. Don't forget it's close to Mexico, too and a great place for drug runners to make a safe stop. I wonder how many RVers are missing in the desert so others can hide or drive off in their rig.
I would love to try the $180.00 pass for a season. It covers such a large area with trash, restrooms, dump & water. Driving to larger towns for supplies should be no problem. The use of a generator doesn’t bother me. It would be bette then the hassle of big city.
I live in a small town in TN. I work in a hospital that has a couple of floors that consist of the mentally ill. The ER is very busy and it’s true drugs are everywhere. So many people come in on drugs and also overdosed. A lot of times the mentally ill are on drugs. And it’s hard stuff too. The homeless that come are often on drugs. It’s everywhere.
From both experience and my siblings/relatives that are Truckers: all major trucking routes and many secondary routes have all the "Ills" drug and human trafficking available. Common knowledge, but that shouldn't be a singular criticism to downplay any region as a not so great place. Especially when an area is primarily a transient community.
Good morning how are you doing? I hope you are doing fine. That was a fantastic video. You explained everything perfect and you got everything right I don’t care where you go in the United States. You’re gonna find the good in the bed but I love your video you explain everything. Well, this is Steve, I hope to meet up with you sometime and sit down and have some coffee until then be safe
I’ve never witnessed drug activity there. There are definitely different social economic circles in which one can mingle in. One will need to seek out which one is the most comfortable to socialize in. Or try to do their best to remain neutral. Conversations around campfires can range from the lack of section 8 housing to the cons of living on a golf course in Florida.
Me either but, I've only been watching those that really enjoy going and being in Quartzsite. *shrug I am going this year and am so looking forward to meeting a plethora of different people.

Slab city has more open drug use. All I have seen is people who smoke cannabis. And cannabis is legal in this state. Plus cannabis will not kill you. You might eat too much and sleep for long time. Yeah, stuff like that seems to happen more often at the LTVAs because there are more people concentrated in a space.
