Thanks! I haven't been to Quartzsite yet and I have a 5th wheel. I probably would have drove through one of those washes. You probably just saved me a lot of money from not having to be towed.
Your videos are so relaxing. I’m going to have to go to the beginning of your videos and binge watch them. While keeping up with your daily videos. Hugs to Dottie and George.
It's easy to see how you accidentally uploaded the wrong video earlier. They start off with the same scene and look similar! This is very good info though, so I'm glad you caught it.
I am heading to Quartzsite in January. It is also my first time going and I am a bit nervous but I am looking for some adventure. I will watch your other videos. Thank you.
You don't need to be nervous, it is set up with everything you need. It's a very small town and people are friendly. If you have a past time, hobby or reading material, bring that. There are second hand thrift stores there and I bought books to read in my van. There's a laundry mat, coffee shop and showers all in one building "downtown". A couple of small grocery stores, bring your own nonperishable food if possible. The biggest downside for me was boredom. Good luck!
A have a bag of 4WD stuff like a tow strap. My truck got stuck and someone came by and said they would pull me out if I had a strap, but I didn’t. I used a shovel to get unstuck, but now I have a strap
Found this video looking for info on water update for Quartzsite. Great info, thank you! Started my full time RV journey Sept 22nd. Currently in Laughlin, will be meandering to Quartzsite sometime next week. Living in an RV = no matter where we go, we are ALWAYS home!
One thing I didn’t realize was what the “desert” was going to look like and be like. I was expecting something like you see on tv lol. Dottie says this is my area.
It’s easy to find the washes because that’s where the trees are. Good info for newbie’s for sure. 👍🏻. I’ve seen class A’s and C’s pulling trailers on the main road in Tyson Wash dragging through the big washes.
Thanks for sharing your experiences and info about the area. If i understand correctly you risk hitting the front and/or tail ends as the wheels travel lower through the wash? Im planning to spend next winter in the area. I have a 4wd truck and shopping for a small teardrop. Probably the nucamp 320. I live in western NY, so it will be an adventure!
I also see people parking in the perfectly smooth spots. Often this is the run off from the washes. I may not have explained that well. So, in big rains, you will be sitting in mud. Hope you can explain it better.
Also, if you have any suggestions on where to camp when I get out there, that would be very much appreciated. I probably will be getting the long-term parking pass.
As a Quartzsite newbie, this video was very confusing. It wasn't until we determined that you were not where you were talking about. Preferred RV Resort is in Nevada, a 4 Hour and 22 minute car ride from Quartzsite, AZ. It would be helpful to think about these things, when talking to newbies. I do appreciate your content, after I figure it out.
I say in the first 20 seconds of the video that I’m in Pahrump. Sounds like you are pretty upset. Allow me to recommend that you check out the hundreds of other Quartzsite videos that might be more comfortable for you.
I’ve noticed several different campers near (within 20 to 40 feet away from) a wash bed. Is there any major flooding beyond what would be the cut out of a wash ?
Hi. I'm kind of new to van life and want to visit the area around Quartzite, but not until later in January. Being my first time I'd like to find a place with "some" people around, but maybe not too crowded. Will that be hard at that late in the game?
You can be completely and totally alone or park in more of a community camp ground and socialize. It's your choice. Everything you need is there in a small area. Quartsite is the perfect place to start and then to expand your horizons from there to outlying areas.

I’ll be heading out to quartzite in the next couple of weeks. This is my first time going there and these videos do help out a lot thank you.
Thanks!

I’m heading there in January too. First timer also. Nervous and excited..!
Me too! This is great info!

Good points about the washes. Dottie is lucky to have you make her food. I make my poodles' food too.

Snow on the peaks in N. Arizona. Time to fly south!
a good idea is to stop and get out and walk ahead to assess the crossing and way.

Great helpful video 😊👍 I’m curious, because, you have so many different electronics going what and how you manage to power everything
600 amp hours of battery and 1240 watts of solar
thank you 🙏🏻
I am thinking of getting a used Tiffin Wayfarer and having someone pre-inspect it first BEFORE I buy!
I am thinking of joining Escapees and have someone meet me in their RV so that I can camp and travel with them. Perhaps???? In our separate RV’s.

hope to go back soon let me know when the big tent is going to be. ps pop your hood to keep the rats out of your engine
No rat problems here - this will be season 3 in this exact spot. Big tent is January 18-26
Also, if you have any suggestions on where to camp when I get out there, that would be very much appreciated. I probably will be getting the long-term parking pass.
L.A.V.A. Lindy got her van caught in a wash last year, but got help getting out.
People will help, I got stuck two years ago and a family group yanked me out in 5 minutes…it’s good practice I think 🇺🇸😊
We love coming to Pahrump twice a year getting out of the cold weather of Idaho. Which place is this? Thanks for sharing!

I like Green grass
@@gailkelly7220 wrong video - try a video about camping in a less arid region. My summer videos are in the mountains of New Mexico
Do you add doggie vitamins to the homemade food?
@@A_Betty I do not but am looking into that
@Dottietravels I want to feed my dogs human food, but nervous
@A_Beddy_Y talk to your vet - I’ll bet they will have great advice for you
When in a campground you need to clean up after your dog. This is plain common sense.
Looks like a uguly place. Why is there no trees ?
It is the 🌵 desert. It is far from an ugly place. The scenery is spectacular
